Anybody else concerned about the Trapper Sack addon change?
For those who didn't read it, one of the very rare (purple) addons for trapper is being changed to where he gets all the bear traps in the match at the beginning of the trial, but when he places them, he can no longer pick them up. Why the hell does a purple addon have such a painful nerf tied to it? God forbid if the survivors actually figure out you have this addon because it can be abused pretty harshly unless you limit yourself to unpopular spots which reduces the trap's potency.
Though what really annoys me is this comes immediately after the sentence "Finally, on the subject of add-ons, we’ve done a pass on some of his least used add-ons and either increased their effects, removed their downsides, or gave them new effects entirely." Which means they actually understand that some downsides are unnecessary and yet added this one. What possible concerning scenario would pop up from the Trapper being able to pick up his traps again?

i wish it was "Set traps cant be picked up" so unset/deactivated traps can be. so it takes more skill and honestly would be fun.

its a play style change addon. think of it like chatterers tooth, tombstone or Iridescent Seal/Hatchet.
if you wanted an addon to slap on randomly without reading its effects because youre broke and have no other addons...this one aint for you.

It isn't anywhere near as useful as those. This is closer in nature to Myer's addon that let's him see auras at EW2 but doesn't let him enter EW3. And a purple addon sure as hell isn't for the broke.

If they add 1 trap to the base kit, that would probably mean the yellow bag will be the same as currently purple is.
And the purple one is just gonna be changing the playstyle like it was said above.

Well, it definitely does change his playstyle. So does only using a putter instead of any other clubs change a golfer's playstyle. For a purple addon, this is pretty weak. It would be another story if traps couldn't be disabled by survivors, but that would probly be too powerful.

Yeah not being able to pick up traps means I'll never run that add-on for any reason. Moving traps around as survivors learn about them is a huge part of playing Trapper.

i think its a tactical thing where you want the iri stone as well. so that they constantly reopen themselves.

I think it's mostly for those basement builds: Trapper Sack + Iri Stone + basement offering.

The downside is warranted tbh. Starting with all your traps + being able to pick them up and carry them? Yeah, that might be a bit too strong. You could do some pretty great things with this add-on tbh.

I don't think its a big issue. You save a lot of time not fetching traps. Its more of lay out your mine field and bring survivors into it.

Why do killer add-ons have to have such huge downsides, even when their effects aren't that great?

I mean, you basically have to run this Add-On with the Iridescent Stone, but it is a huge time saver at the start of the game if you start with 8 Traps immediatly. I guess it will be alright depending on the Map you are on, you basically shut down Loops forever.
(But to be honest, I like that they get more creative. And I dont think you will need Bag Add-Ons anymore after they buffed him to carry two Traps and always having 8 Traps total, so it is not really anything "lost")

I mean, starting with all your bear traps is huge
Not being able to pick up traps at all is a bit too much of a downside, maybe they could tweak it by saying that you can't pick up active bear traps

Yup something i didn't get either, not being able to pick up traps imo will hurt him more than it will help him.
Good luck running that add on and being sent to mothers dwelling 🤣
I think on the small maps it got a little potential, but big maps will hurt him.
That's what you get when the devs don't really understand much about their game

- Inreases Bear Trap capacity by 2.
- Reduces Bear Trap capacity by 3.

It's "supposedly" to be ran with tension spring, the other one they teased. If you can't pick them up then you'll just have to reset them which is what the other new add on does assuming you get the survivor trapped.
It could work in theory, especially with a solid 3 gen.

As soon as Trapper have blocked all exits to basement he cant carry other survivors down there since he can't pick traps up and they continue to reset with Iri stone. It's a lot better to have todays purple addon for basement build.
