So how many times do you have to lose as killer to balance sbmm?
I stopped after 44 in a row with 0 -1 kills with trickster last week when I stopped playing the game.
I want to play my killers I haven't touched yet but dont want to play bully simulator☺

That will only change the mmr of the killer you lost on.
I was testing this with one of my killers and the survivors barely do one gen at the mmr i got him to. then i switched to my main killer and it was sweat central again.

Nope faced the same survivors as when I was playing wraith...looked at the names and they were the same ones most of my matches...understandable since I played a lot of wraith

Based on what I think I know which is about 6% accurate give or take 6% (this is a complete guess)
in the system they have created there is a limit to how much mmr you can have and a limit to how much mmr you can gain and lose in a single match, the way to lose the most mmr is to have a long match where you lose in comparison to a fast match where you lose, so depending on how long it took you to lose those matches id wadger you lost around 10-15 mmr per match averaging around ~12.5 if its an even split between 1 kill and 0 killers meaning you have probably dropped somewhere around 500 mmr on trickster, and since your mmr is based off your best killer if you have a comp squad ready nurse skillset that you played a decent amount in casual your mmr on trickster started 10% lower than your highest killer mmr which was probably max or near max based on your experience as trickster, so id guestimate based on these factors your mmr would probably be 1350~1200 mmr meaning you are nearing an area where you might have some more wiggle room if queues were balanced but since they might not be you might still face better or worse survivors as determined by the mm system

I've noticed that it usually works like this for me:
- Get stomped by CWF using 2-3 ultra rare addons/items (medkits, flashlights and toolboxes). Results in 2 or less kills.
- Play 2 or 3 EASY matches were everyone seems to be a bot and almost no gen gets done. Results in4 kills.
- Restart the cycle.

I've lost about 3 quarters of all my killer matches since sbmm came out and it doesn't seem to be changing any time soon. So I've just stopped playing killer for anything but challenges.

As soon as MMR launched, I committed to not running slowdown perks, not camping/tunnelling for kills, and just playing for chases, challenges, achievements and fun. I lost a few matches at the start but now my MMR seems to have decreased because even if I'm doing an adept like Pig (i.e. weak perks on a weak killer), I can still get a good number of hooks and/or kills more often than not, even though I have no slowdown perks at all and I'm playing in a way that kind of disadvantages me.
I just stopped worrying about the number of kills and weirdly the number of kills I started getting started to normalise really quickly. If I kill all 4, great. If I kill 3, that's thematic and I'm happy. If I kill 2, it feels pretty fair. If I kill 1 then I probably made plenty of mistakes (and I can normally identify them). I rarely kill 0 at this point but if I do then oh well, on to the next.
As for how many matches it took, hard to say. Around 20? It feels pretty balanced to me now and because I play this way, people are usually pretty nice even if I kill them. I also feel like my existing MMR was probably not super high because I used to play pretty chill anyway and regularly gave hatch.

So those 10 minute bully fests meant nothing overall...yup killers are going to stick around☠
4 -
They meant about 30-40% overall probably meaning you should be around the 60th percentile of mmr so easier matches I don't see how that can be a bad thing now that you are there

I have had 1-3 games where i get 1k or less. 3 matches 2k, rest were 4k (3k gave hatch). Been playing survivor more often lately as killer is not as fun anymore overall.

The problem is I am supposedly not there...I haven't lost enough according to their criteria. I mean trickster is already garbage on console.
0 -
I even quit playing survivor this game has become too lopsided since sbmm.

I do win more in solo than i did before. Could be im getting better though was never a great survivor but now im able to soak up good time against ghe killer. Not sure if its me or MM tho. May i recommend a Head on build (its very fun) also FTP allows some pretty epic plays.

Also i dont believe you lost 44 in a row. Sorry if thats mean but theres no way you didnt get a 3k in any of those games. If by a lottery chance you did....I would uninstall.

Yup 44 in a row with 0 to 1 kill using adept trickster not that hard on console🙄.
In fairness I was messing around trying to have fun learning to use his knives vs loops and not tunneling or camping.😇
Was facing the people I usually faced when i would use trapper or wraith (got consistent clickity clicks with full loadouts)🤑
So theoretically I should have chill matches right?

And as survivor of course sbmm is great...it was developed that way to protect survivors from facing any high level killer...4 wallets > 1.

I wish they would take in account how long it’s been since you’ve last played. I just came back from a nearly two month break and all it’s telling is that I should continue that break. Am I really going to have to DC or lose a bunch of times in a row just to have fun?
1 -
Your doing adept trickster on console and not even tryharding. Been said multiple times imo he the worst killer on console

I've only been able to have fun with Nurse since SBMM. She's the only killer I actually feel I have a chance. If I lose, I think "hey these survivors were better than me".
Other killers are simply not fun anymore. If I lose, most of the time I feel the survivors just did gens too fast and maintened distance when needed, and when I win I think "these survivors didn't do gens fast enough". There's simply no interaction with other killers (maybe Blight, but I suck at him).
2 -
Yeah pretty much...time away doesn't change your sbmm...who cares if you are rusty right?🤔😒
1 -
Exactly which is why I dont want to practice vs bully tryhard squads.
But the way individual killer sbmm is measured is it's only a little less than your main killer which is ridiculous.

And with the upcoming nerfs I guarantee you blights addons are going to be nerfed and probably nurses blink recharge addons just watch ☠

In the original post they said it would take that into account. Of course, they also said:

That was actually one of the original selling points for MMR to me.....I'm disappointed to say the least.

Playing killer ever since the SBMM was released has been an absolute pain. I'm a casual player, and the first two killer matches I played when the MMR went live again were two of the sweatiest matches I've ever played, and I haven't cared to go back.
I don't know how many matches I have to lose in order for the ranking system to properly adjust, but I don't care to get steamrolled over and over until it does.
1 -
Just remember , if we want the game to be more than it is, these growth pains were inevitable , at least now the devs can't deny what some have been saying for years

I'm the opposite. I've got thousands of hours in the game, about half on killer. I've been playing a lot of killer and 3-4king every match. I think I've 'lost' a grand total of like 2-3 games since the change, and it STILL places me with players who play like it's their first day. I'm not slugging or camping, I'm consistently getting high emblems but I can't seem to get survivors who are anywhere near my skill bracket.

Good to see that was implemented well🙄
0 -
Yeah haven't played since I found out this was falsely advertised 🤑
0 -
I stopped playing killer for similar reasons. I kept getting matched against survivors way above my skill level. Queues have also been much quicker for survivor as well, which is weird because killer queues were way faster for me before SBMM
0 -
No matter how much you lose, the system is going to do its job and stop you from lowering your mmr DELIBERATELY. The whole point of sbmm is to prevent players from lowering their mmr to play against weaker players.
0 -
Yeah I would get almost instant queues no matter the time in the evenings and then this abomination of a survivor sided ranking system destroyed that...the time spent waiting in lobbies are instead being used in other less buggies games😎
0 -
So punish me for being a loyal long time player? What business does that and stays successful?🙄
So a killer I used 10 times total and unlocked a total of 3 perks for should be paired up with sweat squads?🤔
I am not using my main killer I am using one I wanted to practice and grow with...something that was advertised as being implemented.🤑

Yesterday I played 10 games with Myers where the goal was to nosedive. I got 1-2 hooks max and then just went around breaking stuff. Most games lasted 5 mins. Half had childish abusive endgame chat.
After that I had two games where I 3k hatch with infinite/tombstone and 2k scratched mirror Myers. Both these games felt fun and very balanced.
I had to work to get these kills but not sweat. I didn’t need to camp or tunnel and gens didn’t fly in 2 secs. The second game lasted 9 mins. These 2 games ended with GGs all round and generally friendly endgame chat.
After the two games I got nothing but hardcore sweat squads again and post game tantrum children so decided I’d had the best I could tonight, killed the tutorial bots for a laugh and called it.
New plan is to log on early open a movie in another window, mostly due to long queues but also to wait out endgame. Throw 5-10 games have 2 fun ones and log off.
This is the new DBD and it’s kinda crummy. Tonight’s movie is Scream 2.

Nice a classic movie😇
Can you imagine if the developers actually played their game and got matched up to sweat squads or a tunneling killer right off the bat?🤣
0 -
Never watched the sequels. Wasn’t a huge fan of the original but enjoyed the scream tv series so thought I’d rewatch the films.

Lots of killers are reaching top sbmm quickly. Obviously it's not setup correctly that it would know when you lose. Clearly many times when Killers are losing they are going up in mmr.
What a terrible system.
1 -
Dont remember much about the 3rd scream except for all of the cameos like Jay and silent Bob George Romero and I think wes craven 🤔
Never saw the 4th one but i have it on my list for october😇

Yeah it is just depressing to wait that long in the lobby finally get in a match and feel like you cant do anything to win 🙁
0 -
Thats totally bs he's playing a killer he's not good at the system is supposed to lower to the skill of his killer.
And I've been playing and I'm well over 150 matches as killer and I've tied or won maybe 15 and I'm still playing against survivors that are way above my skill.
So if mine isn't ever going to lower so I can have a fair match the why would I play killer.
0 -
I think the problem with the SBMM is that it’s boosting killers. I can get one hook in a 5 min game and still be called a brutal killer.
The old rank systems boosted survivors. That often wasn’t so bad because that weak link in a team was what balanced out most matches.
Boosted killers however are just completely out matched. With more accurate pairing of survivors and you have games that are so survivor sided that it feels like there is no way to play killer.
killer needs to up rank slower or down rank harder. Because it only takes one good match for me to be outclassed completely for the next 5-10 or so.
3 -
This has been my experience completely and I'm like an average killer with 400hrs split between a 2 year break. Yet I'm playing against players with multiple p3 characters, full meta builds, a huge increase in Bnzp and Prove thyself.

According to Peanits you have an overall killer rating which is used to calibrate your MMR when you pick up a new killer. So you start at a baseline regardless and it changes from there.
Of course this begs the question of whether individual killer MMR is relevant at all. Reckon you're just expected to get stomped for 20-40 games on a new killer. I don't see how that's enjoyable or fair to the killer player, but I did not design the system.
0 -
How on earth do you think the system detects when someone is intentionally throwing? How does it differentiate between an intentional loss and a simple bad game?
Of course it doesn't. Don't be ridiculous. Just because it's invisible doesn't mean it's inscrutable. It was programmed by the same people that made the chat filter and couldn't figure out how to make Hoarder work properly. I guarantee you it's not capable of detecting that level of nuance.
1 -
That is how a lot of killers are feeling...individual killer sbmm starts at almost the same level as your main killer which is ridiculous.
I would rather it take hours played as each killer as a requisite to their mmr.
2 -
Yeah it would make sense to rank up harder for newer killers you want to practice with and rank down harder for your main.
0 -
But even with killers I play alot I just lose over and over and the quality of survivor doesn't drop.
0 -
Which killer are you using? Hopefully it isnt a bug.
0 -
The mains are pin head clown and plugs but ive been mostly playing pin head.
0 -
I figure Pinhead should have had a lower mmr at least🤔
0 -
Nope definitely in my top 3
