Tired of using gen defense
Decided to give killer another go, and it's still a sweatfest for me. I miss not being able to use meme builds. I used to like running with chase builds because the chase is what I found the most fun, but now thanks to SBMM, all gens will fly within a matter of minutes.
BHVR is all about statistics, and no doubt thanks to SBMM they will notice just how heavily used gen defense perks will now be. They were always popular before, but now it's a damn near necessity in order to just tie. The MMR should also highlight just how ridiculously strong SWF can be. If the game detects people playing together, the killer should get some kind of a buff. Have bloodlust start early, something, anything to help counter that situation, because nothing a killer brings into the match can properly counter a well coordinated team on comms.

If you're in it for the chases and like chase builds, then just do it? You can have fun chases even if you lose (basically, the best solo survivors can aspire to).

Yep, but where is the fun to use the build that you want and have only one or two chases with it before the 5 gens last 1 minute?

Funny thing about BHVR is they don’t see all the anti-gen perk usage and think “geez, maybe we should look closer at how quickly a gen can be popped and the tools we give the survivors to accelerate it” and instead think “wow, every Killer is using anti-gen perks, we should consider nerfing these perks to make them more viable’. Lol

I mean, if the survivors want to slam every gen and leave early, let them. Everyone wastes their time and gets no points.

U can't be much focused on chases when gens fly. As u say chases are the most fun part of the game, but meta game penalises u for chases. Focus on gens and tunnel is the optimal strat.
And As surv, best you can do is M1. Game is very unfun nowadays.

I think that the "SWF detected" buff idea is a good thing to consider, however small the effect that it gives the Killer.
I agree that the pressure to use gen defense builds is intense, but you can do other things! My favorite is to use builds that make injuries much more punishing. Maybe do an all-info build? Maybe do a stealth build? Maybe do a build that forces the survivors to do more objectives? You have options. Don't FORCE yourself to play the same matches over and over when you have the ability to spice it up.

The best Gen defence is Survivors not surviving long enough to do gens.

Exactly, just like Killers say "Camper gets no point, thats the punishment", just like Survivors Gen rush and get no point.
For Op, try to use Endgame build (Noed, Bloodwarden, Rancor & either Remember or No way out). I often went from 2 hooks to 4k. It doesnt matter if they Gen rush.

I'm tired too, but they're needed in order to play the game right now as killer.
Hope devs can see the average match time (they sure do) and take a decision in the correct direction.

To add on to what you said here, Twins + Bloodwarden = a great time. Strat here is to use Victor to face hug one of the survivors at the exit gate while they teabag and taunt you. While Victor is on them they can't leave through the gate. So make sure Charlotte is nearby (also having the perk where it takes Victor longer to come off helps a lot too) and just whack the survivor being hugged. When they go down I think the game still reads that Victor is on them and won't let them leave, so you have a small window to grab and pick them up. Once you do, slap them on a hook, turn around and watch the chaos as the survivors try to figure out what just happened lol.

I used to have that same train of thought, but when matches are ending in less than 5 minutes because you have absolutely no map pressure or gen defense, that carefree attitude goes out the window very quickly.

I used to not care about winning or losing as I would use the builds that I found the most fun, but ever since SBMM has been activated, generators just fly thanks to well coordinated SWF. After endearing match after match of being down to one generator within 3 to 4 minutes, it makes one go back to using slow down builds.

And people will say "just run meme builds and wait until your MMR drops". I'm way over 100 games with Huntress using NO slowdowns and I still get matched with those squads that hold W early, pre-drop every pallet and slams gens in 5 minutes. This BS is a lie.

I think Ruin needs to be passive but much weaker version. It will allow people to run whatever they want build and still have a chance to kill. I kinda understand why killers don't enjoy running all over and hitting every gen.

That's precisely why I prefer the chase. The time that I take to kick a gen is time that I could be using to chase a survivor, but perks like Surge and/or Eruption just don't do enough damage.

Did you just ignore what I was saying or are you purposely trying to start a fight? I was talking about how SBMM is matching me against people that are far higher in skill than me. This is most likely because there aren't enough high MMR Killers to match against high MMR survivors. So yeah, pitting a casual Killer against high MMR survivors on comms isn't going to end well. The fun goes right out the window because sweat must be met with sweat, otherwise the match is over within a few minutes.

There's other stuff to have fun with, gens be damned. I was doing the exposed challenge on nurse today, ran bbq/myc/haunted/undying. Someone told me in endgame chat it was the scariest nurse game they had. Was alot of fun watching them haul ass away.

Just use endgame perks at this rate, I reccomend No Way Out and NOED for M1 killers, then No Way Out and Blood Warden for Power-Downs killers, I'm sick of holding gens as well, just sick of it

I'm mostly just practicing killers I'm more inexperienced with right now, mostly huntress. I mostly ignore gens (I use discordance or persuer just to direct me towards survivors and go for optimistic long range hatchets) and fun perks or meme builds other than that. No tunnelling, camping, or slugging (unless they offer it up to me on a plate) and m2 attacks only if applicable. I got stomped at first, survivor skill dropped, now this usually nets me a 2k and I'm slowly getting better survivors, but slowly.
If/when I want to start getting much more competent ones I'll start being more ruthless with perk choice and playstyle. But this is much better than trying to learn killers at rank 1 on the old system, now I have some idea of what I'll be up against.

So your only chance is go with top killer with control gen perks and camp tunnel. Which force the survs to gen rush. Which force the killer to ruin undying camp tunnel.
It´s the never ending fking story. This meta game is extremely boring to play. Most fun part of the game is the chases. But if as killer u go in a good chase with a healthy survivor on a good loop, game will punish you. But if you plant your killer ass on a zone and patrol around a hook, game rewards you.
With survs is the same. Most efficient action is hold m1. I don´t need any skill to hold m1 and that shoudln´t be my key to victory. Looping the killer and helping teammates should be it instead.
