Is the matchmaking system working at all??

Is just match after match of either unskilled survivors vs really skilled killers or vice versa. The amount of actually even matches is way too low.

Yep, it is working. Do not worry about that.

I think so. I can't tell when I play killer. For survivor it seems fine for me though.

I really don't see any difference. Today I've been playing most of the day as a survivor and that was like a coin toss -- some teammates were good, others were crappy. Same solo queue experience I had before MMR. Last Match I've played today:

Ormond. Bubba. I am on the hook. Meg and Neah healing themself on the second floor of the main building, 40 meters away from me.

Bubba on the other side of the map downed and hooked survivor. Meg finished healing Nea, so now Nea is healing Meg... just to get insta downed by Bubba who just returned from his business trip.

One thing I've noticed is that since the data-miners released details of how it works (although I haven't found where the details are laid out for all to read), and people saw it was based on escapes and time, I've noted many more survivors open the gates and run out rather than staying to help others. And in the results screen they have scored less BP than those who were sacrificed.

This leads me to believe that many who escape aren't as good or helpful as those who get killed. Yet those will get a higher MMR and rise higher up. Thos may account for why matches may still seem arbitrary in who you're playing with.

I was a fan of the SBMM when it came out, but worried that if people understood it then they'd manipulate it, and I feel this is what is happening now: a survivor doesn't need to contribute much at all, but simply needs to escape. It's ultimately resulted in some survivors using the system.

SBMM will probably need to rethink itself on basis of contribution, which is where the emblem system in the 4 categories would be the best way to team people up in games based on skill. This problem may not have been caused if a) SBMM was more complex and b) the data-miners hadn't looked into it and spread the news, since people would not be able to assume what counts.

Ultimately, SBMM working on the emblemic system would be clearer for people to understand and truely take into account skill and effort.

In low skill games, Killer is by far the easier role as most Killer wins are by Survivor mistakes.

So it can look to be that you are against a "skilled" Killer when in truth it is dumb teammates killing themselves against a low skilled Killer.

the only difference i can really feel is that the survivors feel less potato? i guess as in they seem more competent and you wouldn't think they were very new?

It's working for me, all I get are either really sweaty matches or cakewalks, it's basically Cod Cold War's SBMM, if you do well you get put in basically unwinnable matches, if you lose you get put in easy matches, it's a really bad system that should just be removed
