Serious mixed signals from the add on pass
Both these dev posts have referred to "revisiting add ons, doing a complete pass of the less powerful or rarely used ones."
So why in the world are the Plague's example reworked add ons so considerably trash?
Oh look, she got a meme add on for higher deviousness points. Go on and tell me the last time you saw literally any killer run those godawful add ons that weaken their power in exchange for deviousness. In my experience, literally never.
Then she has an aura read after cleansing. I mean it's alright, but cleansing already lights up the fountain they cleansed at so you should already have a solid idea of where they are.
These are obviously only reactions to the two we've been shown, but this takes my hopes for the overall add on pass of many killers and drops them down a toilet.
Edit: forgot to mention that they chose to look at Plague and didn't give her any sort of baseline improvement to her deviousness which is tragically bad compared to most killers, and almost entirely hinges on using corrupt purge which is the survivor's decision more than your own.

Does this raise your hopes?

You have to keep in mind we've also been showed two brown add-ons. The add-on changes we just got a sneak peek of are actually pretty damn interesting imo.

Plague has pretty decent addons across the board as it stands, so I feel like her addon pass might not change her addons as much as other killers. The Myers and Pig addons seem promising.
And to be honest, compared to the other meme addons which are utterly useless, the new Plague addon seems like it could be useful in some builds, since it now infects objects for 80 seconds.

The ultra rare is alright, vanity mirror is a change that should've happened a long time ago. Brown Pig add on is just as garbage as the version where it reset more progress because they're default skill checks that aren't affected by any skill check perks. So great, people in their first week might get deep wounds once in a game.

Plague's first addon is definitely a meme addon, but calling it a meme addon for higher deviousness points is missing the middle two lines, and by extension the whole point, of the perk. It changes how the plague plays entirely; you don't vomit on survivors because you can't. Instead, your ability to vomit on objects is way enhanced. Vomit stays on objects for 80 seconds, and survivors interacting with said objects build up infection twice as fast. Devs also said that infection speed is already getting increased, so we don't know how big this is, but I can't imagine it taking more than 5-10 seconds of repairs to fully infect them. And reminder, vomiting on a generator locks it down for 80 seconds unless survivors want to infect themselves.
The extra BP are there just to make up for the lost BP from not being able to puke directly on survivors, and yes, it's definitely a meme addon and almost certainly worse than running no addons at all.
As for the aura reading addon, you're definitely sleeping on it. It's not about knowing where the survivor is when they cleanse, it's about knowing which way they run afterwards. It's the same with Bitter Murmur; knowing which direction survivors are running gives you surprisingly good awareness of where survivors are across the map.
Also it's a common addon. For every common addon you can name with an effect that can meaningfully (and positively) change how the game goes for the killer, I can name like 3 that are numerical changes too small to matter in most cases.

Plague and Pig have been my mains for years. The fact that people think infecting gens is going to be anywhere comparable to the loss of power of not being able to directly infect survivors is utterly laughable, duration or not.
