My thoughts on the dev update

Deathslinger: I like the changes barring the terror radius nerf. Does he warrant a full on terror radius when trickster and huntress get lullaby’s? 32m is too much imo when his gun has only an 18M range compared to trickster and huntress having potentially more

Plague: Extra infection time is nice albeit fairly useless. Cooldown change is nice and makes incensed ointment not a must pick imo. Finally no more stupid charge bug too. Meme BP add on is dumb but kinda funny

PERKS

Windows: This seems too strong imo. It’s pretty brainless and now makes the skill of knowing window/pallets spawns irrelevant

Repressed alliance: Small but nice. Still not going to be strong

Built to last: This with a purple medkit plus charge add ons will be stupidly strong.

Any means necessary: Decent but it’s still going to be too niche since all pallets worth picking up will be kicked anyway.

No mither: just make it 100% already please!

Mindbreaker: Cool I guess?

HATCH

Finally! Pretty nice change and keys still have some viability left. Wonder how they’ll change the 4 man hatch achievement though

BOON TOTEMS

We still can’t say much since we don’t know the actual effects of the perks but giving the killer a secondary objective could be very bad for the game. I’m cautiously optimistic about these

Overall pretty cool and this mid chapter will definitely be a great update for the game overall

    Very happy with the hatch change!

    Built to last buff could be annoying initially but I think people may stop running it after a while and only use the meta stuff.

    The 2 killer changes I'm extremely happy about 👍

    Overall they did the best developer update yet (would've been better with Hag deletion but I'll take the add-on nerf instead).

    I think they were a bit harsh with slinger. He’s already a pretty average killer and is now the only 110% to have a bigger than 24m terror radius which is dumb imo since his gun has a limited range

    We don’t know if her add-ons will be gutted yet. Besides, Hag can do extremely well with even her yellows.


    Seems like each update is a rollercoaster… some very high highs and some very low lows. Hatch change? FANTASTIC. I don’t really care about the last survivor getting the hatch. Boon Totems, AND survivors can relight them if a killer “snuffs them out”? Laughable.

    I don't mind what they did to slinger. From what I read everything that got changed was for the better. Could've buffed his range but we'll have to wait and see what happens.

    Personally just happy that Deathslinger isn't going to be 8m behind me with basically no heartbeat.

    Not gutted but I expect the really bullshit ones to be gone. She has such good green and yellow add-ons that I don't expect many buffs either.

    I didn't see it anywhere that totems can be relighted by survivors. I'm pretty certain they won't be able to but if you've seen them say that boon totems can be used more than once then please tag me in it.

    I can confirm @MandyTalk said that Boon Totems can be re-lit even if a killer snuffs them out. It’s in one of the Boon threads.

    I'm sad for Haunted grounds since Boon totems are a direct safe counter.

    The only change I personally am displeased with for deathslinger is his now inability to be able to get a quick shot off(or at least how it is perceived.) I do not mind the cool down from the aim down to the normal. However, most quick shots or "quick scopes" do not land as much as people think from playing as him and against him. Most of the shots from both ends come from window vaults....so why remove them? Like huntress hatchets, the survivor is able to zig zag from the attack. My opinion is that removing part of a component for him leads me to believe that other killers will be facing changes( spirit not being able to immediately hit after phasing or demo being able to attack immediately after a portal). Or am I just overanalyzing this?

    Well I'm very surprised at that. I'm not going to complain about it yet till we see the perks but I'm slightly worried now.
