Why play Deathslinger over Huntress?
Wasn't the entire point that he can sneak up on survivors and take pot shots?
If he has a full-size terror Radius, that just makes him a dollar store Huntress with an 18-meter, delayed hatchet
I had a feeling the "No fun pls nerf" plebs would eventually get their way

When i first started playing, i seen Slinger on twitch and thought that looked fun. I played for a bit thought he was ok, a good all rounder but didnt excel at anything.
Then i started with Anna. Her ranged is so much better, it has no limit.
If they up slingers terror radius then give him a ranged shot with no chain to compensate so he can play semi long ranged like Anna can.

People play games to have fun, if something is in the game where the majority of people who play against it don't have fun. Whats the point of it staying in the game.
Also he takes just ever so slightly longer to ADS than Trickster (0.05 second difference) and without a sound queue since he inhales only when its ready to fire as opposed to Trickster who has a noise the moment he pulls out his knives.
Something that is .4 seconds when considering latency and input delay is still going to be unreactable to the majority of players. His 1v1 will stay relatively the same.

Pig used to have a 28 meter terror radius as well. I guess stealth killers aren't allowed to be stealthy.

Stealth is unfun for survivors and we can't have killers have unique gameplay styles that survivors find unfun.

The majority don't like facing SWF or second chance perks. Whoops. That's not it.

You mean I can declare things unfun and that's a legitimate reason to remove them? Awesome.
Hey Almo, I find Flashlights unfun. See you next patch when they're gone.

Yeah, you're right. Those should be changed. 1 thing at a time ok bb? <3

With the current state of the announcement, there is no good reason. I liked Caleb because he offered a different gameplay than Anna and felt unique in its own way, but with this they are gutting him to the ground and just be effectively a worse Anna in all aspects.

What is the point of keeping something in a game if its unfun to go against? Seriously where's your logic in that?
And don't act like its purely a survivor thing, Soul Guard. ######### Soul Guard was nerfed because it was unfun to go against.
And not too long ago DS was nerfed, hell the hatch and keys were finally nerfed but no y'all are crying about a killer thats barely gonna be affected by his changes.

It's always later for killer. Kinda fed up with it. Also fed up with double standards like "this isn't fun to go against" or "there's no counterplay." Do people acknowledge how little counterplay killers have against survivor oriented chase perks or in general?

Deathslinger was fun. I don't care about your idea of fun, I care about my idea of fun. The salty survivors that came on here to whine certainly didn't care about my idea of fun either.
This isn't a good balance metric if you can't already tell
Clown bottles ignore survivor input, you're just slowed. This is unfun because it's not reactable, pls nerf
Plague ignores survivor input and forces us to get infected. Unfun, nerfed
Pyramid head is able to bypass loops, DS, BT and Deliverance, I have no agency. Nerfed.

I love how they increased Deathslinger's TR with the justification of "every ranged killer should have a bigger warning" when literally everybody gave feedback that Trickster should not have a lullaby. A 24m lullaby on him would have been enough. Now you can hold W for 14m against Slinger (110% killer btw) before he's even able to do anything to you.

Soul Guard wasn't nerfed for being unfun to play against. It was given a cooldown, because SWF squads were using Soul Guard and WGLF to keep reviving teammates up in the killers face leaving them in a lose-lose situation where they either try to down one of the 3 injured survivors in front of them as the other 2 keep picking them with the protection of Soul Guard's endurance while the last survivor does gens or leaves 3 injured survivors right in front of him so they can heal up since he literally can't down them. Now Save the Best for Last or a killer with a multi-hit power could deal with it, but it was basically an unintentional side-effect of the WGLF buff. The nerf Soul Guard got really doesn't effect it in a normal use case scenario.

"I don't care about your idea of fun, I care about my idea of fun."
Uh, then why should I care about your idea of fun? lmao you are acting just like the evil entitled survivor mains you are crying about.

The point went right over your head, genius

Your examples are all terrible
I don't know if you've realized the more common complaints people have against some killers
Spirit
Slinger
Silent Bell Wraith
Rusty Shackles Hag
These all have something in common. They lack feedback, and as a survivor you don't feel like you have much input while playing
Clown, Plague and Pyramid Head all give feedback that their using their power, and you don't see many complaints of these killers
Also, I don't care about your idea of fun either. I care about what makes a game fun for every one because thats what people buy games for, fun, not a chore, fun.

Yeah, honestly there are a few survivor perks that needs change imo, mainly DH, Spine Chill and Iron Will mainly. Outdatted af they need to go

Also because Streamers started show casting how effectively broken the combination of those two and For The People could lead to ridiculously long chases. As you said, in most situations you won't feel the cooldown for Soul Guard because it was not intended to be abused like that.

As much as I a absolutely hate playing against deathslinger. This nerf was unnecessary

Yes. Deathslinger with M&A was apparently OP but Doctor can do the same when using some of his add-ons. It's picking and choosing.

I don't own this killer. The only time I ever saw him was when I played against him as survivor. He was fun, it was a game of line-of-sight like a shooter. The RE update added flashbangs to give creative ways to mess with him as well. He was a well-rounded, fun killer
Then Scott Jund balled his eyes out about the quickscopes and casual survivors jumped on his band wagon. So the devs heard an extremely loud minority of entitled survivors that think low-mid tier killers are worth nerfing just so they can have easier counterplay.
People that think like you make killers unbearable

I agree that Deathslinger and Spirit needed changes, HOWEVER, AND I MUST BOLD THIS PART:
- THIS IS NOT THE RIGHT TIME TO CHANGE THESE KILLERS WITH MAPS/RNG BEING THE WAY IT IS.
Maps need to be adjusted before we start nerfing killers, especially those in the mid/upper mid tier. But hey, why do something difficult when you can just slap some nerfs on a killer, not examine your broken map design/RNG system, and call it a day.

Yeah, everything youve said in this post confirms everything I was thinking, the screenshot and the first line was truly just the cherry on top
Good day, and have fun tomorrow ;)

Listen, BVHR just didn't want to program killer AI. Now be a good killer, walk in a straight line, and get hit by palette. :)

I know that this will impact me, but I'm hoping that its the start of a path where deathslinger diverges a little from huntress. I think the harpoon reeling speed might be where we see future buffs, but I don't know I don't know exactly what design space the devs see the wiggle room in for this killer.

ScottJund again?
Urgh... I genuinely dislike him and his clique.

at this point for fun I guess? I'll still always like playing him for the gun factor
