So... can a boon totem be relit multiple times?
The developer update stated that the Killer can turn a boon totem back into a dull totem. Does that mean a survivor can then turn it back into a boon totem? Please tell me it's a one-time only perk, because otherwise that is just ridiculous.
The last thing a Killer should have to worry about is repeatedly hunting down totems while they juggle seven generators and four survivors.

Im gonna assume it's gone forever. If not that's one thing I won't like about it. Also it turns it into a dull totem so you can get a spot for another hex. Noed. Plaything.

God I hope so. A hex totem can only be used once for a killer, so it stands to reason that a boon totem can only be used once for a survivor.

Imagine if killers could relight their hexes. There would be a great outcry.

Plus I think all are forced on one totem. If u lose one boon u lose em all.

Indeed. Imagine walking around as the Killer and you just keep getting notified of boon totems. I have to imagine that would be frustrating as all hell.

It should be a high risk, high reward situation just like a hex is for the killer. If you're going to rock four boon perks (when the day comes that there are that many) on your survivor, then get ready to lose them all in one fell swoop if you decide to go that route.

I think that's what there going for. Plus it sounds like they will have a little chime or lullaby when ur near one as killer. And they will get destroyed much faster. So I hope there semi powerful. Meta is stale. And they can be whipped out mega quickly.

Why don't killers destroy the totem? Seems stupid in gameplay and in lore that a killer would stuff around cleansing instead of stomping the bones into dust.

Mod already confirmed they can be relit multiple times i believe.

yes

God I hope not.

Not that it will matter if the effects themself aren't that strong.
The way it was worded also implies that boon totems only give their effects in a small radius "a small safe haven"
So it sounds like if it's out of your patrol zone you don't even need to worry about it.
People seriously need to wait for the actual effects before panicking

What happens when there's a strong boon in the middle of your three gen? You snuff it. It just gets relit when you turn your back. You can't do anything about it. It's a perennial side objective.

Yeah, if there not overly strong the relitting won't be a problem. We will see.

cough cough, undying, cough cough.

Pls survivors. Waste 14 seconds for a totem that i can remove with a single swift kick.
I would be more afraid of them spending that time doing the actual gens

Except it would take survivors 14 seconds(or longer) just to relight it. A bar that, btw, doesnt keep any progress.
If survivors can keep a boon totem lit in a 3 gen without you ever seeing them light it/interrupting them/hitting them before/after they light it, that's going to be on you.

I mean, 1 single boon totem represents ALL boon perks that 1 survivor has. If it takes 14 seconds(or more) just to activate those totems, and only 2-4 seconds to permanently get rid of those perks, they would need to be immensely strong perks. Like, hackers being able to insta heal themselves and freeing themselves from second hook level of strength.
But if we see perks like Dead Hard, Adrenaline and Hope turning into boon totems, it would actually be quite fine if they can be relit. It simply gives survivors 14 seconds extra if they want to use their perks, while it gives killers the option to get rid of those perks.

MandyTalk confirmed that survivors can indeed relight and move boon totems as many times as they wish, so long as there's a dull totem to bless.

Well killers can't remove totems, so in theory its only survivors who can stop you from relighting.
Sounds like a good way to troll.

Not the same thing. Maybe old Undying, which actually gave the survivors a second objective. But new Undying? You're just spending a perk slot on a perk that can be destroyed... to protect a perk that can be destroyed, and it only saves it once instead of the old potential four.

Old undying didnt just give survivors a second objective, it actually reduced the game to a very boring meta. You literally couldnt play the game as solo survivor.
Old undying didnt give survivors a second objective, it gave most killers the easiness of patrolling a tiny area and guaranteeing a 4k. Doctor? Couldnt finish gens. PH? couldnt finish gens. Nurse? Couldnt finish gens. That's not a second objective, that's holding a game hostage with the only way of getting out to be killed.
This is actually a second objective. As survivors have to go out of their way to activate their perks in a decent area and otherwise not have any usable perks.
If they want to keep their perks active, they would have to keep reactivating the totem over and over again, which isnt going to finish any generators. Imagine if a killer needed to spend 14 seconds to recreate Ruin? Suddenly you would call that a secondary objective for killers to do. Yet it's not when a survivor does it?

If survivors can have access to a hex of sorts that a killer cannot remove for good, then the effect from a boon totem best be minimal. Christ if killers were allowed to reactivate hexes there would be riots in the forums.
