2022 soon and we still hold M1 to do gens....
So can we please change the M1 mechanic of doing generators? It's almost year 2022 and nothing has changed. It's sooooo boring to hold M1 for 2 minutes per gen. Please devs, make the mechanic more interactive.
I'm literally avoiding doing gens in every game. I do all the other stuff like unhooking, getting chased by killer, opening chests etc., but I won't touch a gen until this is fixed.

listen, there were a lot asym games that made survs do more than holding m1 on gen but for some reason dbd is the only successfull game among them. Make you really think that maybe holding m1 on gen isn't bad at all and people actually want it

whats the deal with people not wanting to hold a button, i have seen this in a lot of other games up to the point of people wanting stuff such as running to be automatic.
anyway i just remembered that you dont have to spam space for struggle anymore and im sad.

Maybe a simple change that can make doing generators more interactive is by still having to hold M1 to work on the generator, but now you'll have to hit a different indicated button within the skill check success zone for the skill check to be successful.
For instance, say you're playing on Xbox, then if you're using one button for the skill check, then the game can recognize that and prompt you to use the other buttons such as the D-Pad (Directional Arrows), the Letters (A, B, X, Y), and maybe even even the bumpers or triggers, depending on which one is not being used to actually M1 the gen.
The same could apply for PlayStation.
If on PC, then simply the game can prompt you to press different keys within the skill check success zone. Not only would this make skill checks more intricate, but it would also make them slightly more difficult and focus-based since you can't only just hit one button to complete the skill checks.

It’s an accessibility option. Some people get easily hand/finger cramps by holding down a button for a long time or are just not able to.
for me and others it’s just a comfort of course.. but there are really people that can’t play such games.

The only thing I miss is the old M1 "tech" so it would act as if you have toggle M1. I wish they would bring that back, my fingers hurt from holding M1 for 5000 hours.

Don't know about you, but for me it's sort of meditation. I wouldn't want to run or do various things constantly. To me gen repair is a relaxation time after a chase.

i think the smart thing would be to just remap your key binds to a more comfortable position rather than ask the devs for it, but eh.

Especially on console it might not be possible.
i actually have my controller on Steam configured in a way that lets me use a toggle so I am good. I will still support suggestions for this because I know there are many people that would still gain something from it.

Yeah exactly! Why should we ask the devs for accessible options like any other devs implement to their games, right? Unlike other games, DbD is a free2play games and gives all new content out for free. Its not like they earn money or something to do their job.
