Whelp my fear & concern came true..The Pig got nerfed thread!
My biggest concern for Pig was that Crate of Gears & Jigsaw Sketch was going to get nerfed and lo and behold that's exactly what happened! Tampered Timer got nerfed as well but personally i never use this perk over Crate of Gears as you get better/more value from it. Jigsaw Sketch is an absolute must have imo if your gonna play Pig at a high level as it increases her "favorable" rng more. Now that's gonna be gone for something garbage..
I main killer (doesn't mean i don't play or really good at survivor, it just means if something was on the line i would play killer) and i no longer will have another Jigsaw Box to keep survivors off gens longer. DEVS PLEASE CHANGE JIGSAW SKETCH BACK!!!!!!
This is gonna hurt players like myself that rely on non gen defense builds (no ruin, undying, pop, tinkerer, thanatophobia etc) as now i feel we have to use them now because Pigs in-game slowdown (which no other killer has) is nerfed to bloody heck.. They failed to realize that this mid tier killer is add-on dependent.
I dont care about her other add-ons because her other add-ons suck and these "new" changes to her add-ons suck too. I cant believe they nerfed Pig!..

Not only did they "not" mention the fact that Jigsaw Sketch was combined with these two perks making her more viable but even said that her add-on sets will make her stronger which is false. Yeah they may make her more diverse but that doesnt make it good. As far as "fun" goes..my fun is now taken away from me because of my strong add-ons that have been nerfed and are now sub par and i would even say weak. Now im losing my fun because i have to struggle even more with a mid tier killer..
Im pretty upset that they nerfed Pig but it is what it is.

- Add-on – Bag of Gears: Increased Reverse Bear Trap setting speed bonus to 50% (was 20%)
- Add-on – Crate of Gears: Decreased Jigsaw Box search penalty to 33% (was 43%)
- Add-on – Tampered Timer: Decreased Reverse Bear Trap death timer modification to 20 seconds (was 30 seconds)
- Add-on – Rule Set N.2: Decreased rarity to Rare (was Ultra Rare)
- Add-on – Amanda’s Letter: Jigsaw Box reduction removed. Aura reveal range increased to 16 meters (was 12 meters).
- Reworked Add-on – John’s Medical File: Increases crouched move speed by 6%
- Reworked Add-on – Razor Wires: Failing a Jigsaw Box skill check while uninjured will injure the survivor
- Reworked Add-on – Workshop Grease: Increases Ambush attack charge speed by 50%. Decreases Ambush attack miss cooldown by 25%. Increased rarity to Uncommon (was Common).
- Reworked Add-on – Last Will: Increases Ambush attack movement speed by 6%. Increases time to charge Ambush attack by 66%.
- Reworked Add-on – Interlocking Razor: Failing a Jigsaw Box skill check while injured will inflict Deep Wound on the Survivor
- Reworked Add-on – Jigsaw’s Annotated Plan: Increases available Reverse Bear Traps by 1. Increases Reverse Bear Trap death timer by 10 seconds. Whenever a generator is completed, 10 seconds is removed from the death timer of all active Reverse Bear Traps.
- Reworked Add-on – Jigsaw’s Sketch: Increases available Reverse Bear Traps by 1. When a Survivor with a Reverse Bear Trap is working on a generator, that generator’s aura is revealed to you.
- Reworked Add-on – Video Tape: Survivors begin the trial with Reverse Bear Traps installed. Rarity increased to Ultra Rare (was Uncommon).

I always believed that Pig's strength came from using her Ambush well, not from her traps. The traps are merely slowdown tools that "encourage" Survivors off of generators and onto boxes to keep their heads from popping. The points you get from a trap kill are small compared to hooking x3 and sacrificing anyway, so I always cringe whenever Survivors don't untrap themselves and quickly expire.
As a regular Pig player, I'm alright with the nerf to Tampered Timer (I never used it anyway, always favored Ambush addons) and am happy with the rest of the changes to her addons. I especially like the new Jigsaw's Sketch, Video Tape and Amanda's Letter.

Well tbh the gear add-ons were nuts, if you unfortunate to get a large map, you'd be lucky to search 3 boxes, let alone all 4.

The issue with crate of gears and tampered timer is less about the addons themselves and more about RNG and bad map design. One is easier to fix than the others.

Same. I love the changes and I'm excited to try different stuff. I too did not use Tamper/Crate and always brought an extra Box/Trap or boosted her ambush. I am def going to have more options as I always had the same thought you did with head pops.....Damn lost out on hook/chase points with that survivor.

I find weird Amanda's Secret wasnt reworked, right now is probably her worst addon plus one of the most expensive.

Her ability is ok at best. Yeah you can do some mind games like go into her ability and come right out of it but it depends on how good the loop they are at is or not. As far as the 50/50 with her ability its the same thing, depends on the location, map, whether its a god pallet or not etc.
Its actually her traps that's her biggest strength because its guarunteed to get at least one survivor off the gens. She the only killer with her own in game slowdown and its because of "this" that she has more time to find survivors. No other killer has this.
No its 4/5. High level optimal Pig always uses Jigsaw Sketch with either Tampered Timer or Crate of Gears. Personally i think Crate of Gears is better than Tampered Timer which is why i never use Tampered Timer. You get more value from Crate of Gears (with Jigsaw Sketch) as opposed to Tampered Timer with Jigsaw Sketch
That's why if you really wanna win with Pig or at least have a better chance you need to pick one or the other and not have both. Jigsaw Sketch with either two is more consistent as opposed to having them together.

I commend you for sticking with her. I dont know how much you play her but i play her alot and now im going to play her way more less after this patch due to the nerfs. They took the one thing i had going for me with Jigsaw Sketch and now thats gone. No more 5 boxes = GG ( Its bad enough people are getting out the Bear Traps on the first box thats why i needed Jigsaw Sketch to give me a little more time to decrease the survivors favorable rng.
I don't care about having a extra trap lol! Thats not compensation for Jigsaw Sketch. Im not worried about having no Bear Traps left im worried that they'll get the trap off the first box and jump right back on the gen. These add-ons are trash compared to the combo of Crate of Gears & Jigsaw Sketch trust me!
I just had three 4K's in a row with Pig with these add-ons and even got salty complaints from survivors. Its THAT strong. Comparitively like i said before her new add-ons are trash!

For those wondering these are my Pig builds that will be RIP'ed after this patch. So im gonna play her much less than i do now in which she is one of my pip/ranking up killers.

I too want to slow myself down only to watch a survivor W key away from the loop im trying to mindgame by crouching with ambush.

Tamperered Timer and the other annoying addons deserved to be nerfed
Playing pig normally is one thing but it's been semi-popularised to do things like send yourself to indoor maps like RPD and Midwich constantly by certain people

Yes I loved adding box plus a trap but there are more options now and I like it. There's some good combos in there she is better now than where she was.....My opinion of course.

Pig is the only killer who can guarantee a kill at the start of the game. You just tunnel one survivor you don't like for some reason right of the bat until death. Nice huh?
And we all know there is a ton of scammy Pig players. You know, the crouch tunneling to brake chase.

No they didnt! Pig is a add-on dependant killer as she doesn't have much. Her power is actually not that good and she needs STBFL to compensate for it. I've actually tried to do what you said because Pig does well on indoor maps but when i burn a RPD map offering a survivor RQ's so i stopped burning them..

Overrated imo because i already know w hat survivors (optimal) are gonna do.. They're gonna treat it like SWF treat Corrupt and just go to a box with a 1/4 chance of getting it off right away lol. Sure they'll be off a gen for a little bit but thats not compensation for how strong she (soon will) used to be. All her new add-ons are gonna suck and make her worse, watch!

Incoming D+ or at best C tier killer (Pig) Put her right next to Clown and Legion ie the struggle! lol Im not saying those killers are terrible but they are not too good at all.

So far, my initial impression is that the add-on pass doesn't really do much to help the Pig. She still suffers from the same problem she always does (namely that her anti-loop tool is ironically countered by a pallet loop).

There no time to search all the boxes on rpd. Hmmmm... I wonder what the PROBLEM is. They nerfed the traps because there map design team can't do the sensible thing of just dividing up the map. Ormond could have easily been two maps. So could rpd with an east wing and a west wing. Midwich needs more stairs and no I don't want to break a damn wall just to get upstairs. STOP MAKING LARGE MAPS! They are bad for killer diversity. STOP MAKING LARGE MAP's! They reduce killer and survivor interaction. STOP MAKING LARGE MAPS!

From what I've seen they haven't done anything to the RNG nature of her Traps.... which I thought would've been done
Her Ambush attack did see a decent upgrade but they took away the Trap addons... which were her strongest addons (and some of them were her weakest)

I'm ok with the removal of the RNG first hook mori that tampered timer/Gears could cause.
However they really needed to push her add-ons into being more helpful outside of trying to gear heads to pop.
Imagine an add-on that made a survivor oblivious for 10-60 seconds(Depending on how long the trap has been active for) after removing a bear trap.
Or imagine instead of the failed skill check punishments add-ons they instead replaced those with survivors who take off bear traps suffer from hemorrhage and bleed even while not injured for 30/60 seconds.
She needs add-ons that are part of her power/thematic still but actually helpful in normal game and not just for noob stomping.

There arent many good survivor's. On top of that Pigs that tunnel the trapped survivor are trash. You seem wayyy to BENT over a video game. If you won with Pig before you should be able too now.

Actually they do! Pig is add-on reliant whereas other killers like Myers isn't. This is why she "needs" Cate of Gears & Jigsaw Sketch and to a degree Tampered Timer, its because her chases are standard chases which as you know in DBD is bad. To compensate for this you need STBFL and Brutal Strength to make her viable. Her strong point is her Bear Traps with the *mentioned above perks*

They DID do something to her RNG..they nerfed her best add-ons which in combination makes her viable. Now shes not viable anymore not even as a mid tier. Therefore the nature of her RNG with traps in terms of giving her more time to find survivors is gone. So now she cant have 5 boxes on the map at once and 4 is the max (after the patch) and thats terrible because is really gonna hurt her.
Pig is actually one of my mains which is why im so upset over this bc i feel like it was unnecessary they could have just left her alone and it would have been fine. I know alot about her because i often do very well with Pig mostly in part to Crate of Gears and Jigsaw Sketch but at least i can admit that. Shes a mid tier killer and after the patch she's gonna be low tier 100%. She's gonna be in the same tier as Legion and Clown who are at the bottom i just know it. I keep saying it but if its not Jigsaw Sketch with Crate of Gears or Tampered Timer she's really hard to win with due to the amount of bad maps there are against her. She surprisingly does good on indoor maps because of her power (and assuming that everyone doesnt have Spine Chill)
Her upgrade with her Ambush attack isnt going to help her much and i already know whats gonna happen. Her Bear Traps are her equalizer and makes her viable not her ability. Why do ppl think that Pigs ability is her main kit. Its not, her Bear Traps are and her power is sub par at best. Buffing her power isnt gonna make her viable. They totally killed Pig..
Its not Tampered Timer and Crate of Gears, that combination is a gimmic, its not that good! Her best combo is Jigsaw Sketch and Crate of Gears. Tampered Timer is good too with Sketch but not as good as Crate of Gears with it.
If the Pig user tunnels the survivor with a bear trap on they're head then the Pig player is trash with her period. That person doesnt know how to play Pig, im talking about top Pigs like myself and that streamer (or he used to stream rather) who mains Pig. He runs no gen slowdown perks and has something like Brutal Strength/Enduring and something, i forget. Point is she shouldnt have gotten nerfed. Im not getting "bent up over a videogame" im expressing my dislike/disapprroval of the Pig changes/nerfs.
I dont just win with her i dominate the majority of my games with her or my win % is the highest with Pig right now (4ks/3ks and ruthless or merciless killer) now i really dont think im gonna win with her as much now, shes nerfed. They nerfed my base kit which is my Bear Trap setups. I'll still play her but i dont think nearly as much due to this.

Has anybody tried the videotape thing? Just curious how it works out in a real game.
I have an open mind about the changes, but I actually don't mind death by RNG as much as other people on the forums do -- I think it makes the game more unpredictable, which, to me, makes it more fun. So I'm kind of sorry to see the add-ons that made that more likely go. I feel like, now, the chances of actually killing someone with the traps are almost zero unless you stalk them (which is a play style I don't like).

It's disabled on the PTB I think. If it removes all the traps from her inventory I consider it another bad UR add on. Unless the traps are active, having more than 2 attached is kind of a waste imo.

No offense intended, but you could really tell the crazies from normal people based on whether they were acting like Pig was buffed. Pretty blatant they were going to nerf her good add ons. The bigger surprise was that the only add on that most people suspected would get nerfed (Alchemist Ring)... well, didn't.
Tampered timer was like the number one add on that survivor mains cry about though. I say that as someone who only knows the name to half a dozen add ons. Rofl.

Eh, crate of gears didnt recieve that big of a nerf, jigsaw sketch kinda needed a change if they didnt want to completely remove tampered timer either. Pig has recieved a net buff when it comes to addons, without making head popping a reliable strategy, but still a danger(guess why 2 jigsaw boxes were added on Amanda's letter? You could add a trap with last will, down 2 survivors, bodyblock 1 box and get an average of 2 kills for being afk).

And you are right they Nerfed AFK head pops and head pops in general... but they did mix Nerf and Buff when it comes to her ambush ability/ attack and I think they
But I got two without going AFK (I did use Tampered Timer and Crate Of Gears)... I just didn't care about those two (they even tried getting me to chase them when they're about to die LOL)
I also had the match won at that point... 2 Gens for two head pops (win IMO)
