Isn't a 4 flashlight team always doomed to failure?

I don't understand why people do this. There are three ways a killer can respond:

(1) Equip Lightborn,

(2) leave at the loading stage, or

(3) stay.

What percentage of killers don't have Lightborn and don't DC when they see this? 5%? I just can't imagine this works very often. Have two flashlighters and MAYBE you'll get a non-Lightborn/non-DC match.

Let me ask another question. Why should any killer player want to deal with this?

It's obvious that those teams of survivor have a high chance of being a multiprson swf and I would hard assume that their goal is not the escape but to have fun denying the killer at any possibility.

And thanks to comms and so on they most likely might even succeed against average killer, maybe less since MMR.

Kind of fine with it. If they're bringing flashlight means they're not taking the match seriously and inefficient at doing generators or underestimating you the entire match. You could guarantee that there's a lemming following you not doing anything so that's great, probably also giving out free hits = pressure too just trying to do saves.

Then there's the good old flash light blind while you're breaking pallets. For the most part it loses them distance lol since I can just follow their sounds just fine while blinded, They're better off running in a straight line and gain more distance.

With that said is this advantages worth it for a killers? Eh I would probably say not maybe the average killer would bust a nerve when they're getting treated like this the entire match but I'm fine with it.

Lightborn is nice in that scenario but not necessary. Even if they get multiple flashlight saves on you it doesn't mean much if no one does gens, and while you chase one survivor the other three chase you.

If the killer main is one of those fools that doesn't run lightborn and is stupid enough to stay in the lobby? I could see the potential.

Honestly the 4 man flashlights aren't what you need to watch out for. Double flashlight squads are WAY more competent.

4 Flashlights are usually a win IMO. They try to go for saves the whole time instead of being productive. So I take 4 Flashlights anytime, even without Lightborn.

4 flashlights is the best item combination possible. I'd rather see 4 flashlights and so 4 people who will rush in for the save and so 4 people I can fake picking up and slug them all (and blinding at pallets does nothing because I actually possess eardrums 🏃), than 4 medkits or 4 toolboxes.

4 toolboxes means my plan of getting mid game pressure by 3 gens done to swing it back around for the last 2 gens goes from having an 80 second time limit to about a 30 second one.

4 medkits means no matter what I do I will never be able to keep people injured, meaning Hit + Run suddenly becomes less viable than just not hitting people and I must get 2 hits to down every single time.

Give me the 4 flashlights every since day of the week.

Tbh I’d rather run infectious instead of lightborn, but it really depends on your killer

They fail because rather than do gens they follow you trying to get flashlight saves and get really tilted by camping.

I've had games where the whole team forgot about the last gen and just hook traded till all dead because they didn't like me hanging around the hook at 1 gen left. I don't get it but I'll take it because its more fun than trying to pressure a coordinated gen rush squad and lightborn renders their main thing useless.

If they figure out lightborne and smash out the gens asap then its no different to any other game.

Yeah, that is why I always pretend I am not wearing lightborn. They are really easy to trick. The last thing I want is for them to stop trying to flashlight save. Lol.

As annoying as flashlight bully squads are, flashlights are objectively the worst item in the game. They’re pretty easy to avoid and survivors don’t even try anymore when going for a flashy save, they make it so obvious. Also if they’re focused on flashy saves then no gens getting done. Light borne is a waste of a perk slot

lightborn and infinite tier 3 tombstone myers I've had games where I have ranked up to tier three at 4 gens thanks to constant flashlight attempts.

Sadly Lightborn is now shown to the Survivor. Before I used Lightborn just because it was funny that they still tried to blind me, despite it not working 3 times before.

Flashlights are the weakest item in the game, I'd never bring lightborn because it's a waste of a perk slot but I love seeing 4 flashlights in my lobby. Chances are only 2 people, if even that, are gonna be doing gens.

It does? Are they just trying to meme on me, then? They just never stop. Ha ha ha...

They are doomed to fail. Thing is if they're bringing 4 flashlights, they aren't trying to win. The reason they're bringing 4 flashlights is to mess around. If they wanted to win then no one would bring flashlights.

Also this is why people last minute swap to flashlights. They don't people to bring Lightborn or Franklin's so they last minute swap. People believe every last minute swap is to be toxic but there is a reason that they do it sometimes.

Problem is that if the killer brings Lightborn or Franklin's then the survivors will just rush gens so they can get onto the next game and keep their items. All your doing is giving them a reason to go on gens.

Someone wrote it on the Forums that it does, but I have not checked it myself yet.

It is fine, if they last minute swap, I last second crash the lobby. It is fair game. Unless there is only one of them, I can chill and just face camp them instead of wasting the time to let the game load again. That works too.

Lightborn is underrated but not for flashlight saves. When survivors have a flashlight they do stupid things like trying to blind you after a pallet drop instead of gaining distance. Ligthborn means a freehit there which means is a perk that can end chases quickly (which is huge in this meta).

i mean if know someone has a flashlight i'm not going to pick up in a very vulnerable position unless i know i'm safe to do so.

Because flashlight is the only item that promotes an interaction with the killer.

Flashlight dont necessarily means bully intentions, it just means people want to have interaction with the killer, more than slamming gens or Hold W.

I don't run Lightborn and don't dodge the lobby. It's an easy W. Flashlights aren't difficult to deal with.
