I don’t get how people say Spirit was gutted
She is still invisible and moves at 176% movement speed compared to survivors’ 100%. Survivors just have counterplay now and it feels like an interactive battle between the killer and survivor, even though the killer has most of the control as they should.
The only thing that was gutted about Spirit was the stand still stupid ######### which I’m glad is getting removed. It absolutely needed to go. It was a cute little thing the first time you witness it but there’s just nothing good about it.
Good Spirit players like myself will be just fine after this nerf and she’s going to be even more fun than before because of the counterplay she has been given.
Also, one last thing I would like to say is I know that this is my 100th time mentioning Spirit since the nerf announcement but I’m just very excited for what’s about to come for Rin.

Honestly I'm very happy with what they did to Spirit, playing as her feels just as rewarding and Survivors actually get feedback on what's happening which ultimately makes her a lot less frustrating to play against.
Thats the issue with the more frustrating killers, just a little bit of information so you don't feel completely hopeless in a chase, its why Nurse isn't complained about nearly as much.

Same here. I’ve played maybe like 6 or 7 matches as her on the PTB and it was very fun. I still felt like I can outplay the survivor but survivors can also do something against me. Also Spirit’s new add ons are super cool.

Sure she's so powerful all I need to beat her power came attached to the sides of my head. It's laughable how trackable she is now. Literally might as well not be invisible.

Oh her add ons are a treat. Her recall combined with the killer instinct ones are VERY good and still offer some kind of interaction once the survivor finds out about it

I mean I did fine on the PTB as her. Although I haven’t been able to play against her yet because out of the several survivor games I played on the PTB, none of them were Spirit. It was quite annoying because I wanted to test it out.

I think the Mother’s Glasses is a bit too weak as it’s only 2 meters and it has a big downside. They should buff that one but other than that, the add on designs are absolutely phenomenal.

It's just so obscenely accurate. BHVR has never been known for strong sound design and yet they an amazing me in creating spirits phase sound bite that is so accurate I know where she will appear every time. It's not just I can tell she's on my left or right, it's a full 360 area her sound covers and you can even tell distance too as it has its own terror radius

She really wasn't but she is really going to struggle against no scratchmarks/iron will players. She is pretty much the same against everyone else though.

I am worried about Iron Will. Other than that she'll definitely be fine.

survivors know exactly where she is during phase and spirit knows nothing about survivors location thanks to iron will which every good survivor uses, at least in my last 10 games i have not seen a single survivor without it
spirit is dead in high level play with those changes and that is even without the dust particles which are not yet out
nurse and blight is all that is left now

imagine making opinion on how powerful killer is based on ptb where you are matched with all kinds of survivors and most of them are bad
every killer is good against bad survivors

I'm happy with about everything with her changes, besides a few addons.
The window blocking and mother's glasses are awful. Mother's glasses downside is too much for such a small range and the window blocking is too short to ever be useful to her.
I can't decide on the "blink back" addon. This sounds awfully situational, not many survivors stay in loops with spirit/ run straight back to her husk.

Literally no one cares about high level play lol. This has nothing to do with Spirit but to do with SBMM which can put any killer against top tier survivors because their MMR is so high.

I think (almost) everyone is happy with her having 1 tell that she's phasing and where she's positioned (as she is on the PTB now). If she had 2 tells (directional audio + visible footsteps) like they said in the dev update... gutted would still be a strong word, but she would be a lot closer to mediocrity if survivors could reliably pinpoint her position at all times during phasing
I hope they keep her as she is on PTB. Feels like that is a very fair compromise

Maybe at the start you will be fine but when bhvr add the dust to spirit you are going to get ######### by survivor because they will have more info on you compare to you on them.

If you didnt know, before spirit got released in the ptb there was a bug that allowed you to hear her direction in phase and it BROKE her. I have seen recent ptb vids of the spirit chases and now chases as usual unlike before rely on SURVIVORS making the mistake. there is no mindgame like before all you need to do is crank volume up and spirit is cucked

This is the thing though, killers shouldnt be MEDIOCRE survivors should NOT be in the power role in chases they should have to WORK for it and MINDGAME. now almost every killer has to mindgame out their azz to get a hit if its not a deadzone and high mmr is near impossible if you arent nurse. why should the power role not even have to mindgame anymore? survivors are clearly powerrole but now they dont even have to mindgame because its "too difficult". thats the POINT. stop making all killers EASY

Last time I played Nurse the survivors didn't even do gens they just ran circles around me while flashlighting me for 30 minutes straight and then tbagged all way while walking half way across the map to the exit gate. I am never playing Nurse again after that experience.

I had a super bad experience my first few times too, all I can say is its not going to be a easy learning curve but the payoff WILL be worth it. I went from 0 downs to a 4k for 5 games in a row, things will click when your muscle memory kicks in, dont give up.

She was gutted because there isn’t a mindgame anymore. The survivor can tell where she is based on sound and stay safe 100% of the time. Once again, survivor controls the chase.

i mean shes still gonna stomp in casual level like any other killer. But in high mmr shes gonna suffer alot more now. Ive played against her in the ptb and it was quite easy to locate her exact position while she was phasing. I was laughing the whole time tbh....

The only complaints I have are add-ons. Some of them are a bit too weak/situational, like the Kintsugi Teacup and Mother's Glasses. Basekit changes are great though, I've been deliberately avoiding playing Spirit for years on end so now is a great chance to learn her without feeling like a certain German art school reject.

It's almost as she isn't invisibile anymore since it's easy to track where she is now. I found it way easier to deal with her in the PTB.
Iron Will + directional and proximity tracking is way too harsh.
Proximity could stay but the directional tracking needs to go.
Also, her potential to do little mind games by faking direction is worse because of the green add-ons being removed like the movement speed.

I played against her in the PTB a day ago and I purposely took off IW.
She's way too easy to play against. I don't even have to try and listen to track her while phasing.
If your at a loop and you try to loop her she might as well be a 110 M1 killer.
If she's not allowing you to loop, than you can literally run through a pallet, and throw it down and she has no choice but to break the pallet since she's easily tracked.
Honestly I'd rather play against live servers Spirit because at least she required a brain to play against.

Shes not invisible If you can literally follow her as she moves, and her Ms doesn't mean ######### at a lot of loops, even more so if the pallet is up and she's still blind mind you

But you cant tell if she's behind the wall or on your side of the wall. You're 100% ignoring that aspect.
The only reason Spirit is super easy to counter now, is because a lot of Spirit play her as if she had no indication at all. People still need to learn how to use her power to play misinformation. I've had quite good survivors vault a pallet into my face because they thought I was on their side of the vault. Yknow, players that told me Spirit was absolutely gutted and easy to counter now.
Previously, that was a 50/50 scenario on whether you would get a hit or not. That match? I won about 60% of my mindgames. That is better than the original coinflip. Spirit has new strengths she can use that people completely ignore.
Could you deduce exactly where she is if you had enough time? Yes, 100%. But she's nearly twice as fast as survivors, survivors dont have enough time to fully deduce where she exactly is, just where she is most likely to be. Which is good.

I'm not too worried, but it isn't live yet. On the other hand, I think a lot of people were concerned about the visual cue - I was. But, that has been delayed, and rightfully so, I would think. I kinda wish they would reverse the Iron Will / Stridor changes.

i dont think the PTB Spirit is in much of a worse state than she was before.
however, there is also the thing with her footsteps creating dust clouds while phasing - this one essentially gives any aware Survivor a dead giveaway to her location, which pretty much defeats the whole point of her phase ability in the first place.
IF that change makes it in as well, THEN i will agree with people that they gutted her - right now though i think she is still pretty fine.
