Killer disconnect, everyone gets matchmaking ban -switch

The killer disconnected from the match but both me and my friend also received matchmaking bans. I haven't seen this reported yet so I'm wondering if this is intended or a switch problem?

    not just switch, I just had it happen on PC.

    I just had it happen as killer. I got bloodpoints, I got progress towards mmr, and I got my second 5m matchmaking ban.

    this time it said "disconnected from host"

    Happened again.

    I may have found a solution!

    if you quit the game and reload, the ban disappears.
