Everyone agrees Raccoon city map is garbage?
Whenever I'm playing killer or survivor in this map my brain is just on auto pilot mode.

I like the map when i play survivor because most of killers are like u. U don't try to win and give up early. Only sad thing is when survivors do the same.
As for killers it's 50/50 cause it's difficult to track survivors.

Pig mains shouldn't agree. And if they do, they are not true Pig mains. Probably one of those boop the snoot types that forgets reverse bear traps are technically lethal.

I love it on both ends tbh. It’s really not bad if you actually learn it.
9 -
I learned it and by learning I realize how unfit the whole map is for DBD, It's not meant for this type of game. I heard they recreated this map from the game so would make sense how stupid of an idea that was.

I won't lie I hate it as survivor. Hate it. But as a Mikey main I enjoy it. I can't wait to try new Vanity mirror on it in a couple of weeks.

yep
Although it's fun to abuse the broken windows as survivor lol

It's got a nice atmosphere, but it's so damn boring I almost slept the first time I played on that god-awful map.

I thinks it's hot garbage. Straight 100% grade A dog #########. Aesthetically, 10/10, love it. Gameplay wise, it sucks for killer. Completely. Mainly if you're playing Killer. Multiple god pallets on two floors. Rooms that can spawn two windows plus another pallet, plus another small room inside of that room that also has a window, and these windows face each other. Meaning survivors can loop endlessly. Very small rooms with lots of stuff in them, meaning of you're a killer who with any kind of dash, congrats you've been promoted to Basic ass M1 killer with no power all match. You've pretty much lost based on a random factor you have no control over. You also have connecting tight fitted hallways with lockers in them. Meaning if you have survivors with multiple head on perks, you have 0% chance of countering it. You just can't walk past it or eat a stun.
I actually played a match like this. It had the endless loop room, and right outside of it was two lockers. And anytime I would chase someone they'd immediately run to that room because they knew it was an infinite, while another person would go into the lockers, and then head on stun. So I would drop chase, lose any Bloodlust, and either have to keep doing that over and over again. And when I'd just break chase and go after someone else, you guessed it, they just ran back to that room. There's 0 counter play to it, even when the pallet was broken. No mind gaming it nothing.
It's just a poorly designed map that shows they're still making the same mistakes.

Racoon City Police Station:

They changed a lot actually. It really is fine all they need to do is some minor tweaks tbh
1 -
Learning the layout doesn’t fix the issues it has
3 -
Besides tweaking a couple rooms then I’m not sure what the problem would be after.
0 -
- It’s still way too big for an indoor map
- It renders certain killer powers useless
- Pallets are either god tier or unplayable for the survivor
- A lot of random dead end rooms that have no use.
- Hook spawns in hallways that are very easy to camp.
I could go on
5 -
I can't agree. I have only played 3 times, 2 times were on release. Can't really give much input.

I never said it didn’t need some tweaks. But closing off a couple halls and shutting some doors to rooms would really make it perfectly fine. There’s a lot of maps that render a lot of killer powers useless where’s the complaints on those?
1 -
I find the map great and hope that BHVR will eventually bring several layouts.
3 -
I like it, but thats probably just because I love resident evil and it blinds my objective opinion
0 -
As a Resident Evil fan I love it. As a survivor, it's a royal pain in the butt.
0 -
Nope i disagree. Now i expect 17 more pages of discussion

I will have to say the library in RPD is probably the worst designed room in the whole game. There’s no hooks and the balcony is easily abusable.
0 -
Only map in the game where I either go afk or if the map was played by survivors (happens often) I will face camp. This coming from someone who always plays for 12 hooks even when behind....Get rid of this ridiculous map.
1 -
The map is a problem because people give up on it even thou it is that survivor sided.
I like playing on it and send myself there frequently as a Killer. However most survivors just surrender, quit out or let themself die on the first hook for no reason. This ruins my game. Not the map with its bad tiles that can be abused forever, no, the survivors who quit out...
People do not even try to play on this map and blindly believe everything they read on reddit about it. Most survivors say they have a problem finding generators and do not every try to learn the spots where they could spawn or they could just bring a perk or a map for that...

Shelter Woods isn't also that bad, just learn how to loop deadzones.
/s

If the game rolls it naturally I will play on it....if I see and offering...Nah...I'm out.

Especially the streamer pig mains who bring the map with tampered timer and jigsaw sketch because they don't like you 😂
To the OP I also hate this map. Killer it's annoying and survivor it's frustrating.
0 -
what's wrong with snoot booping :(
0 -
Is so fun when the killer chase me for the entire game because he didn't know how to play on RPD and they get angry
0 -
Love the look of it, and the atmosphere, but I hate playing on it.
Everytime I see it as a map offering I hover over closing the game because I know it will be a Pig main who camps to get RBT's on everyone and do I feel like running around from box to box in vain to get a trap off my head? LOL

I can see the great amount of detail that went into the development in that map, and it is almost exactly the same as it is in the Resident Evil games. Crazy close. I admire that, but in DbD... not only is it extremely survivor sided, but confusing and personally completely unenjoyable to play on. It has crap loops, but also extremely good ones. Not much in between terrible and extremely strong. Though, with time and exposure to something not so fun, it grows to at least become "bearable."
I do want to see a change though, badly.

Terrible. The absolute worst. Nothing else comes close.
3 -
You know yamaoka exist right? At least RPD has some god pallets, yamaoka is just the worst map in the game
0 -
Yeah this, it's just that it's REALLY hard to learn, I never played RE 3 so I had a really hard time learning how to properly play on it and I completely understand why so many people just can't get the hang of it.

RPD is a very good map for survivors, but terrible map for killers due to its size.
0 -
There is a hook in the corner, in the back most area away from both doorways. You probably missed it because of all the blighted stuff blending it with the rest of the map.
0 -
well, it isn't that bad, too abd the optimization is garbage...the fps drop is very annoying and no, before you start with "it's your pc", no it isn't, i cna play with everything at max settings(not only dbd), without problems, yet, when i find that map, i get bad framerate, hek, i saw people with stuff like 2080 TI having issue on that map....basically, it's like a russian roulett, if you're lucky, the game is stable, if not, well, enjoy agony.

This map is one of, if not THE worst map in the game.
2 -
One match i was in a 3 man swf on rcpd against a huntress. A friend got hooked in the basement. I was nearby so i hid. The huntress hooked him and left immediately. No camping. I swear by the time i found the stairs to get into the basement he lost one hook stage and got halfway through stage 2.
I even beat re2 remake 4 times and i have trouble finding gens on this map.

I still think Midwich is the worst by far.
As I experience more and more RPD map, it feels good I am getting used to know something(gen spot, totem spot, good loopers, various killer I go against, etc) and eventually like it.
Of course, continuous map offering(RPD Badge) could be terrifying but I don't mind if not that case.

I don't like this map as a killer main. If I play against lower skilled survivors they can't find gens or get unhooks in time so it is a slaughter, if I play against veteran survivors they abuse each god window on the map and hold shift+W so I can't catch them fast enough, so 5 gens pop and I get one kill through endgame camping. Either way I don't have a fun game.

Yes

The map plays like garbage but I'm surprised no one mentions the performance issues on it. My PC is not a high tier one, but I can run games like Horizon Zero Dawn and Sekiro without any slutters and 60 FPS, but whenever I load into this ######### map not even on low I get rid of freezes.
0 -
Plenty have brought up performance issues!
0 -
Fully aware. Dislike Yamaoka too, but no way as much as RPD.
0 -
I actually really like it. It looks much different than other maps and looks quite pleasant. It also has interesting options and loops compared to other indoor maps.
0 -
Nah Midwich is better at least that map at least plays like a dead by daylight map regardless if it's killer or survivor sided. At least you would have a rough idea where each player is at or where they're going to or what they're currently doing at the moment.
RPD is just horrible. Tight corridors everywhere blocking vision and information with the already huge ass map plus the abundant of noises happening above or below screws the rough idea of where each survivors are going to. You just can't track people here reliably and if you somehow did and reached their previously known location they might as well be anywhere due to the stupid maze like hallways.
Even Lery's or Hawkins weren't these bad when it comes to keeping of track of what the hell is happening in the game. Heck there's nothing wrong with keeping track in those map actually.
This map is a good resident evil map but it's the absolute worst map you could make for DBD. Both have different gameplay.

Can't agree, i love the map.
1 -
I love this map - as survivor
0 -
RPD is a great map once you learn it. Anecdotal, but I haven't seen a single survivor or killer quit just because it was RPD.
0 -
I think the level is just too damn big. But, I really love the aesthetic and running around in it. I like that it's maze-like. But, I can see why some people find it annoying.
0 -
Well I only played the games once when they came out years ago and tbh had no memory of the layout. But once you realize the layout isn’t that big and never changes it’s easy to navigate.
