Demogorgon: When you emerge from a portal, can survivor's hear it? And KI when charging shred?

The wiki states an active portal emits a noise that can be heard within 8 meters. So I would assume if a portal is behind a wall or loop, if a survivor is within 8 meters, they will know that a portal is nearby.

My question is, lets say a survivor is working on a gen. For either cases, the portal being within 8 meters, and a portal more than 8 meters, will the survivor get some sort of notification that I emerged from the portal? I understand by default, I am undetectable for 3 sec after emerging from a portal.

2nd question is, how long do I have to charge my shred to trigger the killer instinct from any survivors that are nearby any of my activated portals?

Can I just tap my power button to find out? Does it need to charge to a specific amount? Does it have to be fully charged?
