What do you do when the game starts to feel stale?

Maybe it's just me but I'm getting tired of playing DBD in it's current state right now. It's getting a bit hard to find enjoyment in playing this game when I keep seeing the same perks on either side everytime I play.

I'm talking about the obvious culprits. Ruin/Undying, Dead Hard and BT, Decisive Strike and NOED.

It's getting to the point where if I play Killer I can guess what perks every survivor is running before I even get to the end screen. it's getting... Dull.

Playing different killers doesn't help either. It might be because of how high my MMR is as Killer, but I'm kinda getting the same kinds of survivors. Not the same groups of players mind. But the survivors who brings the same kinds of perks in the game.

I don't mind them because they are fair games but it's getting so boring. I just wanna see survivors attempt to do crazy ######### like Batman flashlight saves. But no, it's the same old #########.

It's monotonous, it's tedious. And I just.. Want to have fun again.

Can't even have fun as Survivor. I literally can only have fun if I'm playing with my girlfriend whose MMR is on the smaller side so I get to see a variety of killers. Hell, I've seen Billy twice this week and I'm happy. Some of them are extremely good too.

I don't know... I guess I just feel numb to it right now.

    I don't know.

The game never felt stale to me...it just felt bad. DBD looks nothing like the game I fell in love with back in 2018, so I left.

Not sure what I do if the game started to feel stale while I was still playing it.

Play a different game. I quit the game and came back whenever I have a fresh mind and want to try out new stuff. A lot of people seem to think quitting the game means you retire permanently as if that's a badge of honor lol. You can come back anytime.

  • Same as General and Myla.

I just quit the game until my favorite content creators make me feel like playing it will be a fun time once again.

I did quit the game for over a year before.

Maybe I should do that again or only play with my girlfriend.

You play a different game. I’m pretty much not playing the game atm since the most recent content has been boring.

I play something else, usually some sort of Soulsborne because I'm a masochist and I like games that make me suffer.

I just do some crazy old tome challenges to keep the game fresh.

If I dont have any, I play different game.

DBD feels very stale since last update, I really wish for new maps and new game mode

Play crazy fun builds or switch roles. I recently played a ToT, Bop, Dark devotion, tinkerer nemesis with the add on where he gets undetectable when killing a zombie. Was undetectable most if match was very fun.

Issue with that is I need to grind to get those perks, and I don't have fun right now. :(

Yes I got lucky to have that build I no longer do because I prestiged Nemesis not long after. It was just an example there are other fun combo's out there. The grind is real bad and can get crazy but I am at the point where most of my killers can share BP with my survivors which helps since survivor BP gains are ridiculous compared to killer. I have been playing Trickster lots lately and he is fun....Not very strong against 4 but I am still doing quite well despite me saying numerous times he is the worst console killer (IMO).

I wish that everyone was wrong and there was a secret sauce to this survivor pudding. Unfortunately, from experience playing another game for 5 years, yeah... It is best to just find a new experience. Trust me, I have done the footwork. I tried everything possible to keep Overwatch fresh for years. I have literally read hundreds of these types of threads and tried every suggestion.

The only thing that ever truly worked was taking a break. And even then, stagnation never left that game. To be fair, at least DBD gets content, so it might be better off.

curb my meta perks and play killers people perceive as a joke.
