MMR is ineffective.
As it is now, MMR feels quite ineffective when I want to play as killers I don't normally play. For example, I NEVER play as Hillbilly, but I'm getting matched up against survivors who are more akin to what I play on my mains Nemesis and Wraith.

I guess the only way is to try mastering him and see where your MMR is taking you

True... I guess I wish I could practice in a better environment. Like maybe a casual mode instead of a sweat mode that the game is now. I don't even have any good perks, mostly just unrelenting, monstrous, and those cruddy perks

I don't think killers have separate mmrs. If you have a super high mmr nemesis, all your other killers will be within 200 mmr of your nemesis rating. It doesn't make sense but I believe that's how the mmr works.

Mmr is fairly useless and all they've done is spend 2 years to make an equally bad system and probably a worse feeling system and then just covered up ranks so people can stop bitching at them about rainbow lobbies.

worse system, tbh. before it didn't depend on kills and survivals, now that's all that matters. old system was more nuanced by far.

Its no wonder they take years to do anything when they waste so much time on something that turns out to be a downgrade to the previous system.

Behaviour have explicitly claimed that if one plays a specific killer, but not another and they don't play the latter often, then the MMR for the latter killer would be lower for those unexperienced with that killer.

I know, that's why I said within 200 mmr. So if you get max mmr on say spirit and then play trapper or someone else for the first time, they'll be like 200 mmr under your spirit, but that's still pretty high. That's why you're getting good survivors when you play hillbilly even though you don't play him very much.
Edit: They also "explicitly claimed" that mmr was not just based on kills and escapes, and that it calculated mmr based on a number of factors, which we now know is untrue.

Im getting swf squads in every game atm. I'm Ash level 2 yet im facing red squads lol. Every match is a sweat fest 😒 I don't dare try someone else 😅
