Chat Filter: Cure is worse than the Illness
It goes way overboard with the censoring making completely harmless expressions look like insults.
I couldn't write "looked at his ping". It is a game for adults, the chat filter should not treat the users like toodlers who might somehow think that ping would mean PP or whatever the reason for censoring it. At the very least, it should have an option to switch it off.

exactly my point, adults should be able to handle the word "but" in a chat, even if it almost looks like "butt"

Sorry, but "too many hurt feelings". The people in charge of the censor are highly indulged in their political perspectives, despite BHVRs website boldly stating they don't indulge in politics. It's hypocritical but it is the most sensible explanation; if those in charge were not politically charged, then there wouldn't be any censors.
It's not even slurs anymore, it's common words, survivor names, phrases that are otherwise benign in or out of context.
Perhaps the Canadian company does not believe in free speech, but this kind of overreaching effort to limit chat is laughable at best.
