So we finally know the reason behind Pinheads voice removal...
Well, that stream a few days ago with Mathieu Cote gave us some answeres.
"Well, Pinheads voice was not final... I stop talking..."
Why didn´t they told us earlier. Now we know it is a legal issue, if he can´t talk about it.
A shame, that they have to keep it a secret, contract or not.
What are your thoughts?

I'm hoping they either had a temp issue that can be solved to get the original back, or just wanted to use the new actress for the Hulu series' voice instead. I would be happy with either voice, so long as the hell priest has a voice again.

I think what might of happened was BHVR made pinheads voicelines without the license holders permission. So in the PTB they were added. But then they knew they couldn’t add them in cause of legal issues so they were removed

It was pretty obvious from the get go that the removal had something to do with licensing, because it was in the 'Changes from PTB' section of the patch notes instead of 'Known Issues', so it wasn't a bug. The fact that the forum mods only stance on it was saying they couldn't talk about it just made it even more concrete.

The funny thing is: They told us by not telling us. XD

Finally, was tired of seeing those posts after Pinhead's release where people seriously believed that it was a bug.

The only way to shut down speculation would be to lie about it. With licenses and NDAs and stuff, it's not "you have to lie about this," it's "you can't talk about this." BHVR could get in serious legal trouble if they go against the "not talking" part.
So, it's not really funny. It's just the regular legal crap.
Edit: Even if it's not specified in the contract, it's bad form to point the finger at someone else and say "this is their fault." It would seriously hurt BHVR's chances of getting future licenses, because no one wants to work with someone like that.

Well, you could say it is funny, because the rights to the Hellraiser franchise belongs to Clive Barker since 2020 (and maybe his company, if he has one).
So I can bravely say: The "not talking" about it is bullshit, or BHVR is really bad in making contracts.
Explain me: If it is stated, that Pinheads voice cant be used, why adding them in the PTB.
I think, Clive told BHVR to remove the voice, and BHVR followed his order like a dog. They did the same to Demo/stranger things...
Just my opinion...

This is a bit incorrect, the rights to Hellraiser revert back to Mr Barker in December of this year, coincidentally, on my birthday.

Because following orders like a dog is what you're forced to do when working with a license holder
Unless you want to lose the license, remove the characters from your game altogether and probably pay a fine, of course
