If 2k is the average then shouldn't a killer or survivors mmr only go up on a 3/4k or 3/4 escape?🤔
You need to be better than average to go up right?
Mmr should go down if the average is not met because the killer/survivor couldn't hang with the "average".
Thoughts?
Edit: no killer mmr change on only just 1 kill and no survivor mmr change on just 1 person escaping(it is a team dynamic).

If I understood it correctly, this is the case for killer.Post edited by GentlemanFridge on0 -
I saw some typed this:
- Higher mmr survivor escape: -5
- Lower mmr escape: -10
- Higher mmr kill: +20
- Lower mmr kill: +10
Means your mmr + 15 that match. That gain is quite high for me.
Even if you kill 2 lower and have 2 higher escape, your mmr would be +10. No wonder Killers complain alot. Their mmr increased non stop.

No idea, kills and escape will always be a garbage system. Only tim I see killers actually get multiple kills is due to a DC or because everyone is messing around end game.
Most killers I see are lucky to get 4-6hooks (excluding games with dc and people who give up at game start)

No.
Each kill nets the killer 400 MMR. Each Escape nets the killer -400 MMR. Then you...
- Higher mmr survivor escape: -5 = -405
- Lower mmr escape: -10 = -410
- Higher mmr kill: +20 = 420
- Lower mmr kill: +10 = 410

The more you play, the more accurate it will become. A good MMR will put more weight on recent wins than older wins and there should be a time decay, so if you haven't played in a while, your MMR drops.

Source for the 400 value? The only value I have seen is the example from Peanits which used exactly the values that C3Tooth did. And yes I know they were arbitrarily picked by Peanits to make an example.
But your 400 points I have never seen used, So you mean a player that plays for the first time, 1100 base rating, then gets 1640 for a 4k, assuming 4 equal/lower survivors, which puts them almost at the 3000 hard cap, well above the matchmaking soft cap of 1900 for matchmaking.
Sounds ridiculous as a "MMR" system.

Bad enough individual killer mmr stars at only 200 points lower than your main🙄

I think I had heard that on one of the developer streams, with the developer that had created the MMR system. Those may have been made up numbers to simplify the explanation of the system, though.
Also, I assume there's a mathematical formula that those numbers go into, before the final MMR is reached.

NNot sure about the time decay...there are killers I haven't played more than 1 match with the new mmr, haven't touched for weeks, played another match and I am still getting high mmr ranks.

Where do you see these games? Because I see the opposite. Many streamers I have seen that main killer do quite well. As well as friends that play killer almost exclusively.

Thing is.... on bhvrs Q&A about 5 days ago now. They basically stated that there's no "team based" mmr its only the single survivors performance. Tbh this is incredibly lazy on bhvr since how it works is you die you lose mmr despite how you did and you survive you gain mmr despite how you did.

The games I play in... I dont tend to watch streamers as alot are fake or biased, and quite honestly with some of the content around it wouldn't surprise me if people lower their mmr of stream etc.
I'm just sharing my experience when I play survivor, then again I know I play at a high level so that could be why.
But many factors from time, region, map, killer and addons used can change alot of the outcome. Once again just my experience of killers not doing that great

Thanks!! Always curious where and what others see!

Well if you want some more details I'll provide this.
EU, off peak time, likely high mmr (I'm very experienced as iv played at the top ranks since its release) Solo survivor, usually use DS,DH,WGLF, and whatever other perk I fancy, with a medkit (1/2 self heals)
I'm also a competitive player as in I'll always do my best, I just dont play in a toxic/selfish way. I know I could do swf and run more meta stuff but I believe survivor is easier, I'm usually happy to run whatever as long as DS is there to stop a tunnel lol.
Dunno if you cared for any of that info but it's there if you did :)

I feel like the killer role gains MMR to easily. That might be an issue since getting high MMR for survivor is actually hard. So there are killers get to high MMR easily, and they might not be on the same skill level as high MMR survivors. Since high MMR survivors actually do tend have more skill in the game, since it's actually harder to get to high MMR as survivors but for solo Q survivors that is.

I appreciate any information, especially from a different region. Do you think EU servers are more competitive than US?

But what's sad is that when they first were discussing about the new MMR you wouldn't have to worry about your low killers going against higher skilled survivors.....that I can confirm is a lie.....I started playing one of my never touched killers to try them out and they were being affected by my Main Pyramid Heads high MMR

Yeah there really isn't an individual killer mmr...you still have to practice your new killer vs hard teams until you get lowered enough from constantly losing.
0 -
What's worse is Competitive SWF teams PURPOSELY dropping their MMR because they found out what affects it so even New Players to the game will face these teams possibly being so aggravated that they wont want to play the game again....if the Devs don't get a handle one these teams and not cater to them DbD could see a slow decline that could avalanche quickly.
That's not me being dramatic either, I have watched other games that had great potential or were fun to play close down because of similar issues......

With that math then you are usually always gaining, and that's terrible for any mmr system.
No wonder playing Killer is so awful
0 -
Yeah and it doesn't seem to be addressed right now. Baseline individual killer mmr should have been 50 percent of whatever your main killer is

It isn't I can't tell you how many time i've gotten 0 pips for getting a 4k... 😑

The Pip/Emblem/Grades system is unrelated to the MMR system. The SBMM doesn't even consider your Grade when matchmaking.

MMR doesn't work with pips anymore though...

Sorry for the slow response, I was an idiot and forgot to press post lol.
Well it's a hard thing to say, for one people get upset and two it's hard to consistently test it, however I have played on the US server (no idea what the servers called, NA I think?) From before dedicated was a thing and in the odd occasion with a American friend.
I would personally say NA is more chill than EU, obviously bad and good are on both servers I just found both survivors and killers more chill on NA. This could just be due to me playing peak time for NA but off peak for EU.
I'd also say that platforms are different, so playstation,xbox, pc in that order tend to be more try hard and toxic. But this is more difficult to say due to limited new gen PS meaning they will be hit with lag etc. And pc is up the top because they can have alot of advantages put on or just straight up things that arent possible on console.
Just my experience though doesn't mean it's a fact, but the way I see it, as in average
PC=very sweaty, very toxic
Xbox=some sweaty, quite toxic
Playstation=some sweaty, more chill
NA=chill more often

Thanks, I notice when I watch European Streamers, the games do seem to be a bit more intense. And I agree with the platforms, that is why I enjoy loading in to a lobby and seeing 3 PC players, I know I am probably getting good team mates.
