Was Legion a scrapped version of Ghostface?

Just wondering about this, sure it's a killer with a knife, mask, and hoodie, but I can't help but wonder.

    I jokingly call them the Jeff crew. Because they kind of remind me of the sudden boom of "human gone psycho creepypasta"  when Jeff The Killer came out.

    I feel like he represents most teenage slasher villains (with the Scream killer being the most obvious one).

    They are angry teenagers, fast and wield a simple knife.

    They may not have the license to use the actual scream costume, but you can't deny the similarities.

    People just like to think Legion is a scrapped version of x, because they just want x to be in the game.

    The thing is the Scream killer is generic as #########, yet iconic. So anything looks like its similar to it.

    Most likely not. They talked about Legions design in past stream and it seems like the early concept was of some kind of psycho killer who uses fast multiple stabs to kill his victims. Or something like that.
    But in general I doubt they design killer anymore with a specific movie killer in mind. They might be inspired by stereotypes and myths, but in the end killers like Legion are their own design.
    The only reason, why you compare them with Ghostface is because they are based on similar stereotypes (smal frame, knife, mask). A stereotype I would argue you even see quite often. Just take a look at last year. Would strangler wear a mask, he would appear similar to Legion as well.

    Reason why I would bring this up is that Scream got revitalized through a tv series, so maybe the license was demanding too much. I really feel like the old slashers are what keep this game fairly popular and ahead of their competitors.

    That actually is a good question. I'm not 100% but i'm pretty sure they took some elements from him, such as the idea of multiple people being the killer.
