Forgive me, but may we have an answer about the NFTs?
This IS NOT an attempt at drama, whether you're for it or against it, wouldn't it be nice if we can have a definitive answer?
I don't want to be rude to anyone least of all the devs and mods, but with how everything is happening it has a rather good portion of us rather concerned.
I completely understand that it's not mandated in Dead By Daylight, you can completely ignore it with no issues, but.. I just would like to know if they had a hand in this at least.

I'm 99% sure The NFTs are a scam and BHVR has no involvement in it whatsoever. Why would you want them to make a statement about it if that is the case?

Those who believe won't change their minds. So there's no point in answering it. U can see this NFTS looks like average level photoshop but how are u going to prove it's not u? They won't share their documents and answer with something like - Guys, we don't know who did it but it not ours... Won't satisfy people.

BHVR isn't obliged to respond to an obviously fake and dodgy claim. I doubt people genuinely believe it.

I said it on Saturday with the benefit of the doubt that it was the weekend and a Holiday. You'd still think SOMEONE would be paying attention to the flustercuck that was happening on the forum due to it but sure, maybe no one is paying attention or no one who was high enough in the company was paying attention.
At this point, it is getting harder and harder to blame people for believing it. It would take BHVR five seconds to go "Not True" and everyone can move on. But they're not. Are they not because they don't think it's a big deal to dispel the rumor or are they not because it is true but they are kind of hoping that radio silence will make people just kind of forget about it...
EDIT: It's also spreading around in not-DBD forums too. There are other forums with posts about it and I had someone in my Discord pop up a mocking post about how DBD is doing NFT ######### (someone who doesn't play DBD at all).

These two comments hit the nail on the head. While yes it does seem unlikely, it's making things worse by not having any confirmation about it. Especially how scandalous those NFTs really are, which can make things extremely bad.

You do realise the company who have the NFTs have since released statements saying DBD aren’t involved with them? There’s an FAQ on their site now and it’s cleared pretty much everything up. They’ve said they have PC codes for the DLC, but that’s it. They have voice lines, but they won’t work in DBD. Anyway - it’s all there. You should watch Paulie Esther’s video on YT for all the info and then go look at said information. It’s all there and available.

I want to be more aware of the situation and even if they aren't partnered with that company it's still Bhvr's models and I'm kinda curious on how that even happened. Whether Bhvr willingly gave them to that company or the license holders demanded it, I don't know, but it's interesting to hear. Fat chance we'd get an answer on that, but it's still worth a shot to ASK

it makes me wonder though, why you feel the need to question their involvement if you’ve seen the evidence. I appreciate you mentioning maybe others who possibly haven’t seen it, however, if anyone is aware, or curious, they’d have then been to that company’s site, will see the FAQ and see BHVR aren’t affiliated with them.
the forum was rampant over the weekend with theories and posts about it, but it seems people have researched and realised that the involvement wasn’t there. At least that was my takeaway from it… and I think now this has happened, it’ll die down and those who do see anything, will look or ask and will be told by those who know.

Yeah. What mainly concerns ME as an individual in this is if BHVR gave their models out willingly. If they had to do it because the license holders said so, then I have no issues. But.. if they had to themselves... I would feel.. odd about that. Something about that would makes me sick. That's the only thing that mainly makes me sick, fingers crossed that they didn't and if this isn't a scam Bhvr was told that they had to or they'll pull the license

It will only get worse for Behavior if they are indeed involved... people that are concerned will just continue to hold prejudice until they either confirm or deny it in some way. And if they take too long to confirm it then they could cause some terrible damage within the community. It's simply better to get this out of the way now than stir the pot.

In this case, as the nfts-crap backpaddled (they boasted dbd/bhvr was involved before) bhvr not saying something might be it's an NDA by their lawyers. meaning they are suing the everloving crap out of those bastards

I work for a department that deals with unemployment, that statement alone is inaccurate. It doesn't seem like it because you're not actively looking. But, there are so many numbers people had use that my job ALONE needed to save each Fraud number and update it on to our sites to warn people of these documented numbers since they are not ours.
Now the IRS even has a subsection talking about situation as well. They even have a similar situation like we do where they save Robo callers and scammer's numbers as well.

Well it’s good to know some stuff is being done in the background for that, but it’s accurate in my case.
I’ve gotten a few IRS scam calls yet I’ve never received any kind of notice from the IRS saying “hey, you just got a scam call” or “look out for scam calls”. Not that I needed them to tell me.

You know I can go to Cameo and have any listed celebrity send me a message of my choice? Like if I wanted to, I could pay Woody Harrelson (actor for Carnage) to say “Hey, looking forward to seeing y’all in Dead by Daylight” and then create a fake page advertising the Carnage DLC.

Choosing to ignore it and refuse to look it up can actually have that case that you just explained. They did explain in on their website and people just refuse to look into that and report it or be more aware. Why do you think I made this post? To actually stop that and get a definitive answer as well. Just because YOU know it's a scam like ME, does not mean EVERYONE knows its a scam.

I mean if it hasn’t been announced by the official source then I don’t see why people would get up in arms about it or be “tricked”.

They do... The problem is its never-ending because the people doing it are outside the US, spoofing numbers. It don't mean they don't try. Its incredibly misleading. There have been numerous PSA about scam calling from news coverage to being plastered on official websites. I mean are you expecting them to send you a letter? Personally inform you everytime? By that logic, should BHVR be sending me a letter every patch update? And are we seriously comparing a issue that's rarely encountered to one that is encountered so much that the problem is that they can't possibly do anything about it because its outside the US? One issue would require uncountable man hours to personally reach out to everyone dealing with it on a daily basis and still get nowhere. The other takes seconds and is seldom encountered. The majority of people selling or giving keys are:
1) Second hand gift card vendors, self explanatory grey market.
2) Streamers giving out gifts and aren't claiming to be endorsed by BHVR for doing so. Its just a giveaway.

What amazes me is the complete stupidity to go and buy an NFT, say a picture of Pinhead, and feel like you actually accomplished anything, when anyone can screenshot that picture of Pinhead and have it on their computer in 5 seconds.

Bhvr's actual assets being used. You know, their actual model and name being used. Again, sure, Boss Protical said they were not working with Bhvr, but they did say they are working with the company that is working on the Ash vs Evil dead game and actually GUN media, which is the same company that made Friday the 13th.
Now, if you were a gaming company and I stole your assets and kept making NFTs solely based around them, what would you do? Ignore me? That's fine, I have no reason to stop then, I'll just keep doing it and doing it. While you know it's not real, not everyone does so I'll be making a profit off of them and while I'm hurting them.
They didn't know YOU didn't work with them and they were essentially just robbed and they may take it out on YOU because YOU didn't say anything.
That's why I made this post, if we can have a definitive answer we can hopefully avoid that situation completely, otherwise Bhvr can be hurt by this and might cause other licenses to become very finicky at the idea of partnering with them

Your logic will never get past the know-it-alls. No company, and I mean no company, would ever turn over their assets to be used for something they do not believe in. That would be allowing someone else to use their assets with as they pleased, which could potentially be very ugly for BHVR.
I think the silence says it all, but I know the fanboys won't believe that.

There’s guys like Skeemoo (or whatever his name is) on YouTube that uses BHVR assets to generate custom 3D models. His channel appears monetized (ads) so he’s getting paid but BHVR doesn’t do anything about that.
It’s pretty obvious some things don’t need to be addressed. This NFT nonsense is one of those things.

Wait. So you're saying that my logic necessarily doesn't make sense, ignore the point where if Bhvr continues to ignore the fraudulent leech it will cause more damage, then say the exact same thing about how it can be very ugly for Bhvr if someone else used their assets for this exact purpose?
Now yes, no company would invest in something they don't believe in, but being silent about it isn't helping either. There are people falling for this and some of them believe that it is a partner with Bhvr, are we gonna just ignore them and let them drown which could cause more issues?

Exactly, yeah that sums everything up. That last part you stated is even why I made this post in the first place.
It's unsure if it's legit or not and that can be incredibly harmful to everyone, so I wanted to see if Bhvr can give a definite yes or no, but I guess the major reason why they didn't say anything or why the wording is weird because they are also in the dark themselves about this since it's the license holders making the agreement, not them.
