Combating Cheaters

Hi,

As everyone knows cheaters have been on the rise for some time now and just relying on EAC doesn't work. So there should be measurements added by the developers. If you don't want to instantly ban them but rather in ban waves (like every week or so) sure be my guest.

Some thoughts on what happens and things that can be easily detected and implemented.


Impossible health state changes:

Currently Cheaters can instantly get up and a second later be fully healed while not using any perks / addons that affect healing speed or using something like Anti-Haemorrhagic Syringe. Should be fairly easy to detect. Especially if no other survivor is in range (distance + raycast) at the time of the health state change.

For some odd reason cheaters can just sent a "healed up" state to the other players without the need to be close to them which doesn't seem to be validated at any point if that's even possible.


Completing generators within impossible times:

Cheaters can complete all gens within like 10 seconds or so which even using BNP, Prove Thyself and the best Toolbox is next to impossible. I know that there are generator spawns where you can find 3 gens really close to each other but the 4th and 5th generator will be at a different location. Should also be fairly easy to detect considering that the "generator complete event" comes from the same survivor.


Changing their own player state:

It seems for Cheaters to be possible to instantly change the players state from normal (as in not injured, dead, hooked etc.) to hooked without any killer interaction whatsoever. Also it's possible to change your hooked state to instantly escape (even if no disconnect caused the game to be cancelled).

Cheaters can change states without being close to any hook. If a killer legitimately hooks someone you could for example get their position at the time of the hook and simply check for the position that are impossible to reach without another survivor unhooking first.

Second Stage self unhooking aka there is no other survivor nearby should be fairly obvious.


Movement Speed:

Regardless of high ping or lag it should be obvious that if you move from one side of the map to the other within 2 seconds is quite unrealistic. Even Wraith and Billy take longer than that.


Out of Bounds:

Cheaters can litterally take you anywhere if you are on the killers shoulders. Height checking and distance checking to the overal map bounds should be added.


Flashlight Beams:

It's not a problem for a cheater to simply put any value to the flashlight's width and height aswell as brightness as there seems to be no validation on the server side. Should be easy to fix. Also don't forget the duration.


Very long stun durations from and / or instant use of perks like Head on:

I've seen this on Stream where a cheater gets in the locker and 1 second later (not 3 seconds as the Head On perk's description says) they can already activate it and cause the killer to be stunned for way more than 3 seconds (again as the perk description says). Also seems to be never validated on the server.


Unlimited survivor screams:

it seems to be possible for cheaters to use unlimited screams without any scream forcing perk / addon or ability in the current match.

Throwing Hatches as any other killer than Huntress:

Something very obvious that cheaters do is throwing hatchets as any other killer than Huntress. Easy to detect.


Killer on the "survivor team" in the lobby:

The server side should be able to detect 2 or more killers in the lobby and outright cancel the match if that happens.


Maybe anyone else has things that cheaters can do and are easily detectable.

    to be fair they would probably find a way to ignore most of these restrictions.

    Easy Anti Cheat is ######### and they have to change it for something else.
