Scream is making a return, do you think this could be news for DBD?
The Scream franchise is returning in January, 2022 with a new licensed release. With the rights acquired by Spyglass Media Group to make a new addition to the series, do you think this leaves a possibility for Ghostface to make a proper film chapter in DBD? Maybe including a map, and Sydney Prescott?

They did say Ghostface (and Legion) are the next killers to get looked at. It would be cool if GF got some Scream-related update with Sidney and a map coming as well.
but I guess it’s unlikely. We never really did get anything directly related to a movie or new release outside of Megs snoot mask for Saw Spiral and the RE chapter for their 25th anniversary after all..

Not really. Unless we get some new cosmetics or something, maybe a charm. But besides that they are reworking him which has likely very little to do with the film, BHVR seems to care a bit more for the licensed characters needing reworks rather than standard original characters, which is understandable and not surprising.

I think they should consider it, but there's no need to re-brand ghost face. DBD ghost face is cool.

I doubt it. He probably sells decent enough and its cheaper to have the license they have now than go after the film characters rights. Besides, his look is so iconic that they don't need to do anything, anyone interested in him and see him in this game will not even realize they're different characters.

Perhaps it is pure coincidence, but if so, I would like to include Sidney and Woodsboro to the Ghostface Chapter, it would be like an update for those who own the chapter or something like that, but I would not expect anything related to that in my honest opinion, but similar cosmetics or a rework or buff needed for Ghostface.

Honestly I was a little surprised they didn't have a Candyman licensing deal this year because of the remake. I like Hellraiser and Pinhead better as an IP though so I'm not disappointed. 🙂

I doubt we'll see any new license content involving the scream franchise. We already got both licensed content we've been told we'll get in a single year meaning the rest of the content we'll get is original. And by the time the next year comes around Scream movie will be old news.

Nope. They only got a license for the likeness in the mask. They didn't get anything involving "Scream".

Probably price of Ghostface's outfits and of Character might go on sale, at best..

Its unlikely that anything will happen with ghostface due to the movie because they didn't negotiate for the rights to the story or anything for the handful of characters that played him, they actually only negotiated for the rights of the masks, standalone.

This was in regards to the new movie, not DBD ghostface. The rights to create an addition to the Scream franchise were acquired for it.

It would be absolutely hilarious if they released another ghostface killer but this time it's just a different guy. I want two ghostfaces now

Ghostface in dbd has nothing to do with Scream movie so I doubt anything will be changed because of new movie
