PS5 crashes since new update?
Me and 2 of my friends have all crashed twice in a row since the new chapter has came out. Is this happening to anybody else?

Anyone in the match using Boon Totems? Because I am seeing reports of crashes in connection with those?

Were you in an active boon totem zone when it happened? It's a known issue. Happened to me just now. Bunch of people reporting it in the bugs section.

Yea i think those are about using perks like self care in a circle of healing boon, not too sure, havent been able to try it yet. I guess its because you use a perk in a perk that lets you use the perk without the perk causing a runtime error or something like that

Yes, it’s happened twice to me when I’m inside of the Boon Totem radius and I’m about to heal with Circle of Healing. It’s as soon as I press the heal action, my app just closes.

is it a self healing action? im not a dev, but I can see how that could cause a run-time error

Yeah it is. With Circle of Healing it allows you to heal yourself without a med-kit and the game crashes when you try to do that. It seems fine when you’re healing somebody else though.

Yes, same on ps4. I was about to escape with the new survivor (her perks only) and the games crashed.
I got the 5 Min penalty -.- and no bloodpoints for the match.

Yep. I got a crash when I just lit a Boon.
No BP of course...but a 2 min ban naturally.

Since this thread's bigger, I'll say again that I am also crashing (PC).
First game I played, just now, was as Legion vs 3 Mikaela's spamming boon totems on map "The Game." Crashed just as I was about to kill the last people. What timing that was, so sad.

I've Played 3 matchs on PS4 with Mikaela and boon many totems (with auto heal action, me and other survivors). NO crash and got 2 trophies on 3. After my 100% I will go to PS5 version (where i play).

there are also a lot of matches that just aren't loading.
you find the match and when it goes in to loading the map it just never finishes.

This happened to me, but I am not using PS5, I am on PC. The match loaded 100% but never started, me and my friend waited for like 10 minutes until we forcefully closed the game... No penalties for either of us when we re-entered the game.

I played one game and I was about to get 4k with Trapper after a really good game..crash! Thanks not going to play this until fixed now 😡

It seems extremely inconsistent as I’ve just had 3 matches in a row without any crashes and then crashed on my 4th game as I was about to escape. So I didn’t earn any BP from that game.

I’ve had 2 crashes in a row while healing as Mikaela in a boon totem radius on PS4.

My brother has crashed 3 times in end game, yet I haven't crashed once. We're both using Boon totems and it seems shortly after he crashes, the killer does too (or could be simultaneously).
He has been playing the character Meg and I believe crashes whenever he starts self-healing late game (when in range of a boon totem). Yet I've done the same thing as Steve and have had no issues so far.
Good news at least for the people crashing is that the DC penalty seems to have been removed. He's not being banned for the crashes.

Downloaded the update, fired up the game, went into the bloodweb and game crashed.
Loaded into a match as Piggy, got my butt kicked in the corn, was going to breakup a group heal thanks to Nurses Calling, heard the dang sound of the boon, found it, began interacting with it and crash. Restarted after matchmaking lock, crash. Put down game.

I've had even more crashes lately, when survivors heal with boon.
I'm legitimately curious how this got passed Q&A, and even more so why they aren't flipping the kill switch they bragged about implementing this patch. Congrats, you have a very valid use for it on your patch debut, during your work hours. Let's see it in action.

Survivors who use Boon Totems definitely don't put a new toilet roll on the holder when they use the last sheet.

yeah at mid game my friend used a boon totem and I saw everyone crash at the same time. Then my whole game closed and havent been able to launch it....If this was anyother game people would have refunded it.

If only it just kept crashing, now I can't even get past the intro screen, it says "cannot connect to store". This update is a disaster, I guess all the competent staff has been reassigned to the NTF team.

Sometimes it does finish after eternity. O.o like even 5 to 10 minutes and then you get on the map.

My entire console (PS5) has been crashing while i play Dead By Daylight. It doesn't give me any issues on any other game. I am playing on the PS5 version. So i wonder could be the issue.
