Never Playing Deathslinger Again
Yikes oh yikes Devs just keep digging that hole convincing people to not want to play the Killer role.
I get it you want to balance this game for players who can't even tie their own shoes but while you are doing this you are simply making the experience ridiculously miserable for one side.
I like to play all Killers, why? More variety. But when you completely destroy a Killer to the brink of I see zero reason to play them anymore is very disheartening especially after sinking money and BP grind into them to make them enjoyable and fun.
Deathslinger Nerf? Just why? Huntress was always better than him anyway since release. Even though he was weaker people including myself played him because he was enjoyable to play. The Quick-Aim mechanic felt extremely satisfying when landing that long range prediction shot, bare in mind his Harpoon is Projectile Based not Hitscan thus his prediction required a lot more skill than people think.
People also need to remember even IF you land one of those nice shots you can still very easily not get anything out of it if they break the chain. Huntress Hatchets guarantee injures and downs Deathslinger does not, only injures.
It also makes no sense to me why you would nerf a Killer so hard who has zero 1v4 and map pressure. You also decide to increase his TR to 32m because I guess clearly being stealthy is way too OP right? I guess Myers Dead Rabbit + M&A combo will be nerfed next, can't have fun builds can we devs?
After playing 2 matches with DSlinger to actually give the change a chance I can honestly say playing him feels absolutely awful. He feels slower and with the obnoxious new ADS speed it felt awful and to no surprise the Survivors held Shift W when they realised I was coming so unless you want to waste 30-40 seconds holding forward just to be within Harpoon reach you have no choice but to leave them and go elsewhere, this causes multiple scenarios of wasted time while gens fly.
As sad as it is today I can't say I'll be playing DSlinger or buying anything else for him anytime soon, Well done Survivor Mains who's next on your nerf hit list?

Its kinda messed up when you consider that behaviour initial hint and tooltip was advetising his stealth and fast shot. This is a massive betrayl of player trust. There would be some hope if they had injected new life into his kit using a bounty systems or charged exposed shot but nah straight dirty nerfs with some minor qol imprpvements that does not add a single spark of passion.
Its all take and it dosen't help that slinger wasnt in a good position before the nerf now hes even worse off. Goes to show you cant trust behaviour to respect there product even if its been a year or two after its released.

What I don't understand is that why they have to nerf something to the ground. They have increased his aiming....ok. But why they have to touch the terror radius too? Couldn't they wait a bit to see how he performs...

the nerfs are justified not sure why you guys complain. i testet him yesterday and still did well.
"oh no we cant quick scope anymore so survivors have no reaction time"

instead of complaining all the time maybe get used to it.
nurse is also bad according to players im at high MMR with nurse and do great.
just because a killer takes more skill, timing and brain it doesnt make him bad just get better and used to the new mechanics gosh

The irony of this comment is actually quite funny considering it is in fact the Survivors who refuse to adapt, learn and they are the ones who do the complaining to cause these nerfs. " I tested him yesterday and still did well" this does not tell us much at all as we have no idea what calibre you are against, if you are going against bricks of course you did okay.

I'll note that next time i play CoD I'll just hard scope everyone because that is now the more skilled thing to do.

I demand Pig blood. She gave me a migraine when she placed the trap on my head. Luckily I got it off first try, but then her broken dash attack from PURE stealth got me. How am I supposed to react to that?

you want survivors to adapt to something what is not possible, tell me how can the human brain react to something within mil seconds? thats not how the brain works we are not robots.
you sound like a entitled killer main who never played the other role gosh.
do you complain about the huge hitbox of survivors?
do you complain about the dedicated servers and how they give free hits?
do you complain about dead ends on some maps?
do you complain about exit gates standind next to each other so you can just watch both as killer?
do you complain about anything what survivors have to deal with? sure you dont.
do everyone a favor, stop playing killer for a week and jump into the survivor role and lets met again.
unlike you i play both sides and know the problems for both sides and will defend both of them and in this case deathslingers nerf is justified.
get used to it or go play a killer who doesnt require any braincells, timing or whatever its obvious that the new Slinger is nothing for you.

Survivor main here, happy to answer your questions.
- Survivor's don't have "huge" hitboxes. If they did, they wouldn't be able to tightly loop around obstacles and waste a killers time. In fact, their hitboxes are smaller by design to give them the advantage in a chase.
- Dedicated servers ruins it for both sides and can prevent killers from getting hits. It's not just a one sided thing.
- Maps are supposed to have dead ends. Awareness of your general surroundings is part of being a good survivor, it's no different to how killers need to pay attention to where the strong loops are and make a decision on whether or not to continue the chase and waste a bunch of time or abandon chase and go after someone else.
- Exit gates being close to each other can kind of suck, yes, but why should the last survivor have an easy escape? Isn't the killer entitled to kill you if they managed to kill all of your teammates and close the hatch before you could find it? Why is the last survivor entitled to escape after all the killers hard work? You also have the option to run Plunderers like I do and find a key.
- I don't complain about much since the game isn't supposed to be easy. Survivors are supposed to be weak and fear the killer when it is 1vs1. Survivor is the team role, as such, the team needs to work together to beat the killer.
The Deathslinger didn't need this specific nerf. He wasn't too hard to beat as a team. He excelled at downing people, especially those who were stupid and couldn't find cover to avoid his shots, but he had zero map pressure. Nine times out of ten, whenever I faced him, 4 gens would be done by the time he got to his 3rd hook. The only time we lost against him is like when I lose against most other killers, teammates hiding and doing nothing or moonwalking and bullsh*tting and not doing objectives. At the very least, the devs should have compensated his nerf with giving him some kind of map pressure.
It's obvious that you've never played killer and are terrible at survivor if these were your complaints.

Answer to your questions:
- How can the human brain react to something within mil seconds? Have you ever played a fighter? Command Grabs, Wake Up Attacks just to name a few are all have counterplay even though they are near enough instant.
- Entitled killer main? I want the game to be fun, enjoyable and skill based on both sides. Not one side being given all the cake to enjoy while the other gets ignored.
- You cant fix servers, any game you will ever play online you will experience this issue unless you play on the same system via split screen.
- dead ends on maps? you make a mistake and the killer rectifies it? no that wouldnt annoy me as I would have made a mistake
- exit gates are purely RNG based, I personally find end games design lame, it forces killer to slug if they want the 4k and it just creates long obnoxious tedious back and forward gameplay.
- What is it survivors have to deal with exactly? Anyone who knows this game very well is self aware enough to know survivor gameplay is becoming more in favor of even bad survivors hand holding them to wins.
- Survivor is very easy to play man, even when you "die" or "not escape" I never really see it as the Killer being too strong I am self aware enough to know that I made a mistake .
- If you strongly believe DSlinger's nerf was justified are you perfectly fine with going against the same few Killers every match you play as I can assure these nerfs will cause a lot less people to play him.
- "go play a killer who doesnt require any braincells" what does this even mean?
