Adepts Need Changing

Is anything ever going to be done about the Adepts? For a survivor you just have to live one time using the three perks. You don't even have to DO anything, the rest of the team can fix all the gens, be chased by the killer, and you can sit in a corner all game. The only thing you have to do is hide in a corner and escape, or even let your whole team die and jump through the hatch. However, on killer you used to have to get four kills, and now you have to get merciless killer. I played a game as doctor trying to get the adept, this game took 30 minutes where they popped almost all of the gens instantly, but I kept a three gen triangle near basement. Killed one of them, and for the rest of the time had to constantly struggle to make sure they didn't touch any gens, and finally was able to kill all of them. So I kept all gens from getting popped, killed all four survivors, didn't hook camp (you could see by points I didn't have any near hooked survivor points taken away), and over all went well above my job as the killer... and didn't get the adept. That's some high grade bs, how much more do I have to work to get the achievement that survivors can just survive and get it for free? And I say this as someone that has gotten rank 1 survivor and killer many times, over 1k hours playing both roles, and I still say that's dumb as hell.

Agreed.. Killers should get the same rule. Kill 4 people get adept. Nothing more. Just as survivors just need to get out of the game give killers just the 4 kills and nothing more.

Silly how survivors get everything in this game easier.

    merciless doesn't require 4king people

but it does require getting all 11 hook states out of people before giving hatch generally

I killed all four survivors, full hooks, and one gen not done. So no, it's more than that, and the fact that it's more that that and the survivor just needs to walk out the door is wrong.

I have killed all 4/ i have gotten 11 hook states and yet no adept. Just make it simple. Kill 4 people get adept. Why does it have to be complicated for killers when its so simple for survivors?

yes you need to get all four emblems as iridescent to get merciless, sacrifice is just one of them

My question still remains... why is it so complicated for killers when survivor can literally hide in a locker the whole match and escape and get adept?

No it doesn't, at least not in lower grades. It is easier to double pip there.

My advice is to wait for the grade reset. Although that doesn't change the survivors you'll face, at least the system is more lenient.

    you are correct

but i am not a potato killer, and i'm not 100% sure if grades still even influence pips the way they did before

if they do then with them hard resetting every month it sure must make adept achievements/possibly archives? massively easier

Yes, again I'm saying it's BS that you can do a full game and not get those emblems and therefor not get the adept when a survivor can do absolutely nothing but walk out the door, or get hatch and get it for free. Legit go into a match as any survivor using map, let all your teammates die and jump through the hatch. Boom you get adept. That easy. Yet as killer you can have a 30 minute game, hook all survivors, not let the last gen pop, and win the game without hitting end game collapse.. and not get the achievement because APPARENTLY you didn't work hard enough for it. How is that fair? How is that right? And I say this because it happened to me, and it was a legit 30 minute game trying to get one of the many adepts I've not been able to get due to this same stupidity. Same with how it's always been a problem to try and do adepts and lose the achievement because someone decided to DC on you. It's always been BS compared to how easy it was for survivor. And you'd think that when all the emblems got introduced in the first place, that when they were changing it for the killers, that they would make it harder for survivors too. Like some sort of requirements, maybe do a certain amount of gens, unhooks, heals, something. Not just that you have to escape. You can be hooked twice, be downed, not do a single gen, unhook anyone, healed anyone, and still get the achievement.

Tried doing my after grade reset, i was ash ...something and yet i didnt get it even though i killed 4 people. I'm sure its possible but i did not get it. Tried it multiple times too.

Just give me simple 4 kills and i will get it done. Maybe not with first or second match but i will get it done. No other requirements.

Actually it used to be that way. Killers had to only kill four survivors to get the achievement, then they thought it was too easy so they tied it with your points. You had to get the... I think it was 5k in each category, not 8k that's max but I think it was 5k in all four to get it. Then they changed to the emblem system so now you have to get other requirements that aren't really even clear anymore, and there's no way to tell in game how close or far away you are from getting your goal at all since it's not just killing anymore. It's like an awful game of tik-tak-toe where all the pieces are the same shape. In the past it was also really bad to have people DC on you since it meant you instantly lose your ability to get the achievement all because someone left, even now it makes it pretty much impossible since you didn't hook that person and lose all that emblem progress, sure you get points, but I don't believe it counts for your emblem or "hooks" at all.

With all that being said, again look at survivor, it hasn't changed since the game first came out, and it's still super easy. All you have to do is escape, not do objectives, not guess if you're going to get it or not.

Yeah. its silly how difficult it is for killers but so simple for survivors. Though im not surprised. Survivors seems to have it easier in this game anyways. I got bored after doing my best killing people , chasing them, jumping all sorts of hoops and yet never getting the adept.

Even on ash ranks i didnt get it any easier.

Well remember how Hex perks are powerful perks, so being able to cleanse them and take that perk out of the game was fair game. However now you have Boons that cleanse the totem AND add a Hex for the survivors that can be added multiple times and re-applied over and over even after the killer finds and breaks it. lol

After never caring about Adepts, I recently started a challenge to get Adepts on all killers and survivors, and I agree 100% that Killer Adept needs to be changed. I've gotten almost all of the killer ones at this point, but the inconsistencies and strange things involved in those attempts for me to get there illustrated the problems currently:

-- The Rank/Level you're at makes at HUGE difference. I started doing them before the last reset, when I was essentially at Rank 1, and it's unforgiving. You need 4 Iridescent medals, and getting some of those, even if you play a near perfect match can be super-difficult. While I did get some of mine while at that Rank/Level, when the reset turned me into an Ash 4 afterwards, I picked up a few I don't think I actualy deserved, due to it being easier to get Merciless at that level (I got my Blight even with someone escaping through the hatch in that game). That inconsistency doesn't make sense, as Survivor Adept requirements do not change no matter what Rank/Level you're at.

-- The Emblem system is flawed in how it rewards and penalizes you in-game. It took forever to get the Plague Adept, because I was continuously penalized for playing well and using her power correctly (getting people infected) and the survivors playing sub-optimally (cleansing at every opportunity, instead of waiting until the situation called for it) by losing Malicious points because the survivors "healed" so much. One-shot killers were penalized as well in Emblem performance. I completely destroyed a team as Pyramid Head and played one of the best rounds I ever have as him, but lost out essentially because I did TOO well and the match ended too quickly, with too few chases and hooks, meaning I would have had to "throw" at some point to get the Emblems I needed, which makes absolutely no sense. And I've been penalized in Chaser Emblems for being "too close to hooked survivors", when I've literally had survivors rush an unhook before I could even get away from the area, leaving me in the position to have to blindly walk away rather than punish what is, again, inefficient survivor play, to protect the Emblem score.

None of those things make any sense, and they all illustrate why Adept should have SOME change made to the Killer end. A 4K with at least Ruthless should be enough to get Adept, if not just getting a 4K regardless of your pips to put it at least somewhat on par with what the Survivor Adepts require.

    Agrred.

The merciless aspect should be dropped. Simply get a 4k with their 3 perks. Done.

And I say this as someone with all killer adepts.

I just went to a low rank played against bad survivors with killers I wanted adepts with then bam.

for survivors I got most of mine accidentally when trying them out for the first time.

Agreed and already several times posted about.

And I think the argument that changing achievements on console is too hard also does not apply anymore after easily getting rid of ranks to change them for grades and I guess the "get to rank X" achievements simply work with grades now.

So changing the requirement for adept shouldn't even be in question as the achievement does not even specify those.

After about a week of trying i finally finished my adept killers. Quite a grind and having to learn tricks for each killer in order to reach merciless. I did notice that my last adept, hag, managed to get merciless with 3 iri 1 gold emblem.

Some tips I feel I can give. If you play a killer with stealth, dont use it. If you play a killer with a one hit down, dont use it (Shape being the only exception).

Even if its not optimal kick gens over going into direct chases. One of the killer emblems requires you to delay the game to 9+ minutes. If you pub stomp the survivors even with a 4k you get screwed.

Dont be embarrassed to tunnel but dont camp. Keep a mental note of hook states. I never managed to get a single adept if I didn't hook all 4 survivors before finishing a sacrifice hook. If you hard tunnel someone out you will get the -1 to -5 for being "to close to hooked survivors".

I mention all this because I literally used shards to get new survivor yesterday. Got her to level 10 for 3 perk slots, all innate perks at level 1 and inolayed a single game before servers kicked me out due to bug... managed to adept in that 1 game. No I didn't play any PTB with her and never even managed to use the boon totems. Still extraordinarily easier.

But yes, I agree... The criteria should be the same for survivor and killer, if survivor just has to escape, killer should be able to just 4k or 3k with gates closed + hatch. I do think that survivor adept should be only through exit gates with all gens done.

Sacrifice all 4 survivors. That’s all it should require.

Really simple fix they've ignored for years, because the issue with changing them is because of console achievements not being able to be changed as long as they're possible.

Rename "No One Survived" score event to "Merciless Victory." This makes more sense as sometimes you can get "merciless" after giving someone the hatch and literally giving mercy.

Then just rename the double pip literally anything else.

There, a merciless victory is now a 4k in any way.
