Dribbling DS is back???
I will have to test this later to see if it was just the killers connection

I knew this was possible against flashlights in rare occasion but never thought it would work against DS. We are back to 2018 I guess.

Don't do that. Don't give me hope.

Outside of nostalgia, was dribbling DS that great of a feature?

It was annoying but at least you could outplay the perk whitout using enduring

Is abusing hard-coded timers without any input from the opposition really an outplay? Or just technical knowledge?
At least if you leave them slugged for 60s you still have to proxy their body and the Survivor can crawl away, rather than relying on the team not having a flashlight (or having downed the Survivor under a Pallet) in order to spam pickup/drop.

It forced survivors to cooperate more. If you didn't want your DS to get dribbled, you have to take 1 bodyblock before the hook.

Yes. It avoided the perk completely if done right.

Fair, though IMO the total suppression of the DS Survivor's agency (if they even have it, DS dribbling is about guessing they have it) isn't good game design.
If there was a method to incorporate both the Killer's input to counter DS alongside the Survivor's input, perhaps, but I don't know what that would be.

Well, you can still do the same with slugging.
0 -
Because DS is not the same.

DS is not the same as slugging? Or DS is not the same as it was in 2018?
DS is not the same as slugging: Course not, that's actually good design IMO, different effects.
DS is not the same as it was in 2018: Nostalgia, which can give fond memories of the past, can get corrupted by ignorance of issues we simply ignored from inexperience.

Either a bug, some sort of bizarre latency issue, or lagswitching if you ask me. Considering lagswitchers could make themselves impossible to hook I wouldn't be surprised if it could be used to "reject" a DS stun ever happening as well.
I'd report it as a bug either way, as it's 100% unintended behavior. They already changed the DS skillcheck timing / DS itself / both?? once to prevent people right under hooks from being possible to hook before their DS went through.

I meant that DS is not the same as it was in 2018.
That perk created some hilarious moments for me.

I can understand that, but there are better ways of doing that than just saying: No you don't get to do anything while I'm doing this.
Presumably you enjoy Bloodwarden? (It is a shame that it's a bit too reliant on Exit Gate Switch state, though that does mean that's it's a much greater punishment when it occurs.)

The blight clearly knew what he was doing so I would assume a lag switch but I still want to test this and see if it's a bug

"Dribbling just bypasses the perk at no risk and a minimal cost, and lets you get back to business immediately."
My point in a nutshell. It's bad game design for a PvP game. PvE, sure. Not PvP though.

Nah, it was a bad feature. Not only could you avoid the Perk, but it was such a big time investment and only worked if you had a Hook somewhat close, so often enough Killers did not even bother with picking up the Obsession.
Mostly because it really takes quite some time.

bhvr please fix, too many tunnellers in my game and they must not know this ;(

You could still dribble ds, its just getting lucky by having their skill check appear the farthest it can be before they hit it. Also im guess fire up could also help

Oh, yes, I am clairvoyant. I can always tell when they have DS. Such a skill of mine. No guess work involved.

We back to 2018???? Happy billy noises!!
I need to test this if it is true.
1 -
Not to mention that it still seems possible on a specific tileset (not saying which...) to crawl into spots between doodads that you cannot be picked up from.

I mean that's just plain base-game exploit abuse. Bug/player report.

If I recall, this is one of those 'creative use of game mechanics' (like flying the Hillbilly off surfaces) that BHVR said they won't take action on.
Very frustrating.

lol, if it ever left, it's been back ever since the last nerf. The killer can also swing at the right time to glitch DS too. AFAIK connection does have something to do with whether it works or not though.

It's 2018 all over again

Eh, I suppose, as given the bleedout imer it will still end the game if they decide to sit there.
