"Devs, shake up the meta!"

Killers: Devs, shake up the meta!

*Devs introduce a couple of decent perks that could possibly shake up the meta*

Killers: No, not like that!

--

Killers: Devs, introduce something else for survivors to do other than rush gens!

*Devs create a new mechanic and two perks with worthwhile enough effects to have survivors choose to spend 14-28 seconds doing something other than gens, usually multiple times per trial*

Killers: No, not like that!

--

Killers: LOL just do bones

*Devs make it so boons are loud af and can literally be snuffed out in a second*

Killers: No, not like that!

I think the point is in the post.

Feel free to make a survivor version. 🤷‍♀️

Yeah I really hope they don't nerf them too fast and actually give the killer players the chance to learn bone locations and stuff.

For me facing survivor perks that actually have a cost with them and not being given for free is a godsent.

As someone who mostly plays killer I really don't want to see these perks to go to the evergrowing pile of never used perks the survivors have.

Kill rates have never been as low as they are now and people are still calling killers crybabies.

I'm enjoying using boon totems as a survivor. It's something fun to do rather than sit on gens. It gets a bunch of BP, which I really like.

Will the totems actually shake up the meta? I dunno, but it seems unlikely. Right now boon totems are something new to do, they're a novelty. Once that wears off... Well, the meta is the meta in part because it requires no extra effort from the survivor. Get injured, use DH. Get tunneled, use DS. Make a save, use BT. Left on the ground, use Unbreakable. There's no having to look for totems, no setup time, no cost. The survivor sits on a gen advancing the match, then the killer does something and the survivor's perks come into play. If the killer tries to play around any of these perks, the survivor still gets a benefit from them. There's no needing to get a to a specific area of the map to use the perks, there's no relying on someone else to set up the perks, there's no set up time required of you; the meta just works.

I'm interested to see if boons stick around. Like I said, I'm enjoying them right now; whether I stick with them or return to my usual setup (I love WoO and WGLF, I dunno if I can stay away from them for long), only time will tell.

For the first one what are you talking about? Genuine Question.

For the second one I'm pretty sure killer's meant give a survivor a second objective not for the killers. Also boons aren't an objective.

For the third one I'm guessing your being sarcastic.

Couldn't agree more. It's just ridiculous at this point.

I feel that's because many people put themselves in the mindset that anything new and potentially strong/strong is making the game worse for the other side and that the intentions behind said change are to tilt the game towards that side.

Shake up the meta by nerfing the current meta to make it obsolete. Introducing stuff even more broken than the meta perks people already complain about, is pretty silly. I'm not sure why you'd think when people said they are sick of OP meta perks, it means they want new perks way stronger than the ones they already hate facing. Power creep like that is the sign of a game that has past its prime.

the 14s blessing is too short, but at least now Hexs take longer, that was it's primary issue; being able to out a killer perk and in a survivor one in one move with no penalty

People would be fine with boons if boons could be permanently or even temporally on a cooldown eliminated from the game by either letting the killer break totems or simply giving a boon a cooldown once broken.

Also because boons compound and we only have access to one of the 2 boons it isn't very fair to say we have seen the full power of boons yet.

So idk what your trying to prove here.

The issue is that meta perks need to be nerfed.

They are so powerful that anything that challenges or surpasses them is ludicrously powerful.
