HATCH needs rework NOW
This problem has been around for a while. I'm sure most of players remember this situation where you and killer meet eachother and stare game begins. Lets assume that you are an injured survivor and your opponenent is any killer, you meet eachother at the hatch. Waht do you do? And vice versa you are the killer staring at the injured survivor. What do you do?

Here we go again...6

As a killer I hit them, as a survivor I jump.
It's not rocket science.

I used to jump in or i attack.
I'm not wasting dozens of minutes on BP that's worth only 1 node on the Bloodweb.6 -
I will be honest here.
When I play survivor If I am not gonna play another game, I just open netflix or my book and start to watch or read something while I wait for the hit sound.
If I am gonna continue to play, I just jump in. 5-7k is not that important for me.
As a killer, if I am clown (I generally play him), I will hit the survivor with my bottles to get my devi points, and then hit him.
There is no need to wait for the survivor to jump in as a killer. You have to constantly pay attention etc. while survivor can do whatever he wants to do. I don't see any point waiting that much.
This is my personal opinion though. For some people 4k is really important and I can't judge it.

You smack them. Or you don't create a hatch stand off in the first place.

Kinda venting here so sorry if its a little disrespectful.
I honestly think the complaining around the hatch/endgame scenario is worse than the hatch mechanic itself. Yeah, the devs know its bad, and yes they're fixing it. No more needed.1 -

" dont do the standoff" As a survivor. You don't even need to get IN the hatch to win. You just need to be healthy and near it. Or even injured and a bit closer. If you know where the hatch is while healthy there is pretty much no way to lose. Yet its supposed to be this last ditch effort clutch type option? Its not, which is why the standoffs start in the first place. Aside from slugging...wth is a killer supposed to do to try and 4k with a hatch open? I prefer to look around for the survivor even though 95% of the time they just find the hatch.
I never liked it from either perspective. I feel like im the only survivor who does the hatch as "intended".
If the hatch is open. I try to go to the hatch. If teammates are alive. I try to escape with them
Aside from being killer and having matches end the INSTANT I get the third kill. Or facing an even semi capable survivor who if has any time what so ever to search for it. Usually by the time I land a hit on them they will be sped off near where it is and either a standoff starts or they have enough distance. I never bother doing the standoff.
I actually hate it more as a survivor. Oh look one person is dead. Its now maybe just me vs the killer now. Meanwhile at least 1 other person quits doing any work what so ever outside of sandbagging of course. Just trying to hang in long enough to hatch.
Its a shame. As me stumbling across the hatch are usually some of the most intense moments because I actually try to carry the team before the hatch is around meaning im not off in random places looking for a hatch because I intend for my team to die. So when I escape via hatch its usually in a chase.
Escaping is now worth 7,000 BP. Enjoy. Solved. Why survivors need a consolation prize and more reason to screw their team over is beyond me.

What do you do?Go for the grab or honestly not care. I tend to not care as if they can do 2 gens before I kill 3 ok, but the hatch isn’t fun and not worth the stress honestly.

A more reasonable choice as survivor is to leave the hatch. Bait a chase or do a gen. I've had killers sit on a hatch for 3 gens. If they don't want to leave and take the chance of catching me in a chase I will just do gens and go out the door. I've also baited chases such that I was able to loop back around and jump in the hatch uncontested.

At this point initiating the hatch standoff as a Survivor should be classified as taking the game hostage until the devs rework the Hatch. The Killer’s objective to kill all of the Survivors and prevent them from escaping. The Survivor’s objective is to repair all five generators or jump in the Hatch and escape. By hitting the Survivor, the Killer is failing to complete part of his objective. On the other hand, the Survivor can easily go and complete their other objective (the gens), but they choose to stand at the Hatch instead of going to a gen when they know the Killer is at the Hatch.
If you don’t want to go that far, then just severely punish the Survivor for acting like they’re entitled to the Hatch. I was thinking about taking away Bloodpoints, shards, and Emblem points while they’re standing at the Hatch. Maybe their item could start deteriorating until it’s gone.
