Made an account to ask about the console bricking after hearing about it. Is there any confirmation that this is actually happening? Wanted to play some killer on console but now I’m not so sure.

    I am not sure.

    There are people who hack into crossplay off lobbies. I can offer some proof of that if you like.

    It's certainly possible. You can crash people's games rather easily, and hackers obviously have access to client-side information of other players, so it is definitely possible.

    I cant confirm it is currently happening but I can for certainty tell you its possible.

    The console reads data from the game, in a similar method used to originally jailbreak consoles such as the xbox and ps4 (or the vita/psp/ps3/3ds/ds) using certain games can let you gain access and run code not meant to and this game can do the same, hackers have shown they can make your console run data they execute by taking over the report user function at the end of a match. All it would take is for them to tell your console to run specific commands that could crash/brick your console and just like a jailbreak gone wrong your console is now a paperweight.

    Is it happening, no idea, but the hackers have certainly shown it is very much possible and if they arent right now how long until they are...
