Is RPD The Absolute Worst Killer Map Now?

Yeah, I can't stand this place. It looks so awesome, so lovingly designed - and such absolute BS for any immobile killer that I've started just AFKing out these matches.

Yup.

I'll even play out Haddonfield, for the most part, but RPD? Nope. Not even slightly sorry, had like 5 RPD offerings today and now that survivors are getting comfortable with the place, it's like trying to ice-skate uphill.

  • Incredibly big and hard to navigate.
  • At least one essentially infinite loop. The big office, just off the main hallway has two windows and one vault that even with BL3, you won't gain on a survivor unless they make a mistake. And people run there immediately. Every sodding game.
  • Tons of totem spots that are in the open, almost on top of a gen.
  • Ridiculously tight, winding corridors that negate about 1/3 of killer abilities.
  • Incredibly safe gens.

The only time I'll bother playing RPD out now is if I'm on a killer with the ability to cross the map rapidly. Even Wraith struggles here.

And yet today, at least 30% of my games have been RPD offerings :|.

This is the first time in DbD that I've wanted a map veto ability. Because this place is pure suck.

Whenever I play on that map whether it be a survivor or killer, I take that match as my "break" match and just let the results naturally fold out because out of my experiences, I already know it's not going to be pretty.

The map itself is pretty though! I just wish the orange gunk weren't there.

Badham is worse for killer, in my opinion.

Badham has the silly freebie gen in the tunnel, and that dumb fence with the vault. It's...bad (lol) but it's not the worst.

RPD hard-counters so many killers, which is why most of the offerings that aren't Haddonfield are inevitably RPD.

    RPD has:

    • At least 1 easily exploitable, near-infinite loop in the hub area.
    • The verticality and unfairly safe gens of Haddonfield.
    • The annoying mazes of Midwich.
    • The tightest, windiest corridoors of any map in the game.
    • Totem placement almost as bad as Autohaven.

Let's be honest, that map sucks for both sides.

It's different when it is from offering, where you just know they prepared with perks to help them navigate. I usually just leave (offering only) and wait 5 minutes, unless I have good killer for it.

When I decide to play it, I just choose 1 half of the map with more gens + main hall and never leave.

I think Léry's is much worse

In a game where Badham exists? No rpd is not the worst

Remove that office infinite and it’s a good map

Badham can be rough, but I'm not sure if you've run into a team that knows how to abuse the office infinite (it's right in the middle of the map, so it's incredibly easy to head there whenever you are chased) and the 2 gens that you can 100% before the killer can get there, even if he starts heading over the second the game starts.

Badham's big problems are that one silly fence with the stupidly safe vault, and the 'free' gen in the basement.

For Killer specifically? No I'd say Red Forest is worse.

For both sides then yes, RPD.

I'd say bedham and haddonfield are even worse but this is the close next one with red forest. The sad thing is that it's apparently bad for survivors aswell because I haven't seem them give up as much in this map compared to others despite it being a good survivor map.

    It's like Lery's.

It's very confusing in it's layout and it doesn't feel very fun to be on, despite it being an objectively good map for them.

I hate it on both sides. I had to go against a hag in there.

    Never again.

I played RPD for the first time the other day... I was playing Trickster

Oh boy it was bad... not knowing the map and all it's dead ends and (Bad Word)

It ended up being a 4E... I didn't try after they got 3 Gens done

It depends a lot on the killer. Hag, Nurse, Spirit and Wraith play very well on it, meanwhile Blight and Huntress might as well AFK on a corner.

Yah I was meh about it for a while only experienced it as killer was very annoying but I wasn't too bothered by it, but played it as survivor for the first time last night and dear god it sucked so much I think I hate it as much as everyone else now I kept running into random dead end rooms in chase and ARGH

It doesn’t help that the game keeps giving me that map.

One match i was in a 3 man swf. A huntress hooked a friend in the basement and immediately left. It was his 2nd hook and i was nearby. I even played the re2 remake and it took me a long time to find the stairs. By the time i got there he almost died on the hook.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to join the chorus and say that RPD is a miserable map to play on.

I don't know because i've somehow managed to only play on that map like two or three since its release. I guess i've been spared one hell, but to make up for that the entity constantly sends me to some of my least favorite realms which are swamp, the game, and Japan.

What's the kill/escape rate for dbd? I played it last night against a tunnelling Huntress and ruin for half the match and we still got 2 players out. I still struggle finding gens on it :/

Not sure how a map can be too strong for killers and survivors simultaneously.

Sure the map has issues, niche issues that favour/don't favour certain killers, which should be addressed.

But for the most part, it's balanced, it just has a learning curve that nobody is prepared to change their ways for.

Guess we just need endless repetitions of flat fields with stock obstacles...

It's the best map in Dead by Daylight
