When will BHVR side with the killers!?

Adding hit validation just allows them to guarantee the killer doesn't get the hit. Dead hard was working prior to this 'fix' and was still supplying a third health state even when used to gain distance. Really, they buffed dead hard with this 'fix'.

First of all when did I say people should play these killers. and second of when did I say anything about slugging

You don't want B and C tier killers brought up to higher tier killer levels, so I guess you want everyone to play those killers?

Only took them 4 years to finally do it…..but pre undying. Gone within the first couple of months.

That's the problem- they're not fair hits, they're hits that only look fair because of slight desync issues. If a hit gets refunded at a pallet, you were not supposed to get that hit and would've only gotten it due to server desync.
5 -
The hit should not be blinded accepted. Literally every competitive pvp game operates on that fact.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but if your "fair" hit was rolled back, it was not fair. Simple as that.

saw you responded to me and I got a comment not found message

Sometimes 'broken' in reference to a game mechanic is referencing that it functions so poorly that it breaks the rest of the game's intended functionality. In the case of the hatch, in certain circumstances, it rewarded survivors for failure, and punished the killer for succeeding. So, the hatch and keys are working as intended, but that functionality was breaking the rest of the game.
0 -
But they were still nerfed, like it doesn't matter how you slice it. A nerf is a nerf in this context
That's the point of contention.
2 -
Hit validation makes it fair, not "guarantee the killer doesn't get the hit."
2 -
So, when someone can climb onto a surface they're not supposed to be on, say a rock, that would be considered 'nerfing' the rock? Not fixing something that is broken?
1 -
Hit validation is just deciding who Actually got the timing first. The killer or survivor. As it states the killers client was the decider before so it wasn't accurate. Nobody is robbed.... if you really got the hit first then it counts, if you didnt then DH works. Simple as.
As for keys vs moris.... moris actually have good value against DS - especially at end game collapse etc. When survivors can use their DS to escape. Keys on the other hand are almost useless... i dont really get their mechanic.... they can only be used when the hatch spawns..... but the hatch only spawns when 1 person is alive.... and when one person is alive its open anyway... so really..... the only time you can use it is to reopen the hatch which means bringing it for a solo hatch escape specifically... (most survivors i know dont play for this kind of end game as hatch isnt really a win lets be honest).
2 -
Let me put it this way:
Keys were in the game, and the developers intended for people to do what they were able to do with them, so when those things are changed - it's a nerf. Hell, they did more than nerf keys they also made it so only 1 survivor can ever escape through the hatch period.
People being able to climb on geometry that they quite clearly aren't supposed to, is a bug because if they wanted people to be able to climb on that geometry or whatever then they would make it clear by putting a ramp or something like that.
This is really arguing semantics and I'm not sure why. Keys were unbalanced and 'broken' but that was by design, not because of a bug.

If I hit the survivor BEFORE he drops the pallet - the hit is fare. The hit validation just favors survivors, so almost no hit is "fair" now.
2 -
Tthey say that hit validation is based on ping, but I've logged games where survivors have 100-200ms higher ping than I do, and when I swung at them as they dropped pallets the game still denied my hit, prioritizing the stun instead. By their description of how it works, my hit should have taken priority, but it didn't. So, you'll have to excuse me if I don't trust it.
4 -
I'm simply against bring every single killer up to an OP standard that seems to be the norm for killer mains now a days
1 -
Ping is variable. Any time my ping gets bad, I start getting hit when I shouldn't have, according to my screen. Server validation made me get hit.
Sounds like a you problem more than the game.
2 -
Also I do want to drop a criticism here:
The Community Managers/whoever is in charge of delivering information to people really needs to learn how to better communicate changes to the community.
Prime example is when they called wraith overpowered, even IF that's what the balance team genuinely believed (Which it may be, I don't know), that is not how you word making changes to him. That just makes it look like they saw the complaints about wraith and went "welp he's OP, let's change him a bit again".
4 -
Yeah, I agree with you.
1 -
Right. You can't see ping as killer, so I have to keep track of it through my router and correlate timestamps and port activity to my gameplay recordings. In one of my games, the survivors all had 200ms+ ping, whereas mine was only 60-70.
0 -
If it would favor Survivor, you would not gain any Hits through Pallets.
So either you dont understand how the system works or you just cannot except that those Hits you got before were simply not fair.
3 -
you know I’m tired of these types of posts. The devs aren’t any “sided”. There was changes to both sides we weren’t thrilled about. So please stop this narrative that the devs are one sided.

BHVR has been on the killer's side for 5 years.
Killers should be required to play the game in 2016 to appreciate how easy it is now.
7 -
@meowzilla69 i tired that devs make killers are useless trash, do u remember when dev play killer ?

For multiple reason when they nerf killer most of the time its because survivor find them boring to play against example deathslinger. A killer nerf is rarely because they are strong spirit nerf is a good nerf for now but if they add the dust shes going to be destroy.
The mori nerf killer had no idea before the nerf happen but for key survivor had a 3 week notice before it happen.
The dev always think about the survivor fun but never about the killer fun you can see this in the wording of every patch note
0 -
The mori nerf having no announcement is definitely bad, they shouldn't have done that. Sounds like they learned that fact, though, since people did get warned about the key nerf.
Seems like they did the right thing there.

Well lets see, on console we can't even play, many killers are too big to interact with the Boon Totems, Slinger was shanked in a dark corner, Legion is still worthless, Pig nerf #119, Trickster's Knives have recoil while The Redeemer has none and Pig nerf #120
1 -
They did the right thing for the survivor but not for the killer and its almsot always like that its really hard to try and believe the dev are not survivor side
0 -
Unpopular opinion: The devs need to stop siding with one side, and people need to stop encouraging them too. Just because one side has had the upper hand for a bit does not mean it becomes the other side's turn. We need to focus on balancing both. Not alternating power
1 -
They did the right thing for survivor, which happened after they didn't do the right thing for killer. What would you want them to do, ######### over survivors because killers got the same treatment? I'd rather see them learn and not repeat the same mistake.
1 -
I prefer if they did not tell the survivor key were getting change. I think this would have been fair but honestly i used my 20 key during those 3 week but i should have that luxary if the dev were fair
1 -
Why should people be punished for not living close enough to one of the 4 or 5 servers behavior employs for the 9 and a half million square mile continent of North America?
0 -
More than half the posts on this forum are from killer players complaining. This is not an insult but just an observation.
2 -
It really isn’t that rare. I get it in probably 4/10 Nurse games, and it often ends up costing me. It’s also not a “whataboutism”: you were snarkily implying that the devs are neutral about things that they fix when, more often than not, survivors bugs are quickly resolved. Meanwhile Nurse bugs go unsolved for years.
1 -
Power never alternates- the game has always been survivor sided.
1 -
Why should people be punished by getting hit when the killer clearly missed or poorly timed their swing?
3 -
It does. But you seem like someone who isn't gonna bother attempting to see it another way, so I won't waste my time trying to show you either.
1 -
There aren’t always two sides of the coin. Sometimes reality is just on one side. We have mountains of evidence that shows this game has always been survivor sided
2 -
The fact that DH wasn't properly working some times doesn't mean its a balanced perk or that it should exist and you know it. This perk is pure cheese, it makes other exaustation perks look bad, and it has been in the meta for ages. Its just press E to win.
Remember when the devs said that all over used perks need to be looked at? Well where is the nerf for DH? Meanwhile every killer perk that is over used get nerfed.. I can see the trend here, fairness and balance in this game are two unknown words.
2 -
Doesn't anyone on this forum ever get tired of complaining? Killers complain, survivors complain....who cares. There is no reason to take this game this seriously.
If they wanted to fix things they could make custom games be actually customizable. With that players can play HOWEVER they want. Don't like pallets? Remove them. Don't like killer speeds? Slow them down. Don't like certain perks? Remove them from the trial.
I really feel like this would mitigate a lot of the frustrations players have. If something goes wrong on your pvp trial, go to a custom game, customize the game the way you want it, play with some friends or offline bots. You can't please every single player but with a custom game being that customizable, you could probably please most. This game will never be balance but at least you could still make it a fun experience. Devs can devote more time to adding to customization options rather than trying to please everyone only to fail pleasing anyone.
2 -
Someone needs to say it. Ahem, it has never been easier to play killer than it is right now. I know its tough to admit, but you probably just aren't very good if you are struggling as a killer right now.

Being "overused" is not the only reason to ban it. And I am pretty sure they never said it like that, can you link me that statement please? Otherwise, where is the BBQ-Nerf? I guess no Perk is used more often than BBQ, on both sides.
And I could not care less about DH, I am not using it as Survivor and I have no problem with it as Killer. However, I see that Killers complain about Survivors all running the same Perks while doing an effort to get Boon-Perks nerfed ASAP, which shows me that Killers only want weak Perks (or even non-functional Perks, like DH before this Patch...). If they really nerf DH at some point, there will be even less Survivor Perks to choose from, so the problem that "everyone runs the same" will just increase.
The number of DHs only was bigger after they nerfed Balanced Landing to the point that you almost never see it anymore.
5 -
Pigs changes only buffed her dash play slightly and nerfed everything else. Her skill check add ons don't even work with perks for synergy anymore. And she can't gimmick hexes for interesting play anymore since the introduction of boon totems.
Her add on pass was not a unanimous buff. It was a nerf to her 4v1 and a largely ignorable pass on her unsafe pallet dash....thats it....
I'm not laughing....the amount of copium people ingest while discussing the recent patch makes everything completely unfunny.
This last patch was basically a Korean MMO Dev patch. 1 step forward and 2 steps back. AKA "We're gonna buff X! But, we're also gonna nerf Y and Z and buff the thing that counters X completely negating the fact that X was changed in any way...."
You hate to see it...
2 -
"You get a nerf, you get a nerf, you get a nerf, and YOU get a nerf. EVERYBODY gets a NERF!"
3 -
You mean when they nerfed balanced landing to not make legitimate infinites out of drops? What exactly do you expect, if the killer enters a loop with a drop with a survivor and they have balanced landing they should auto-lose?
1 -
They should balance the Maps and not nerf Perks which are fine on most Maps, but get oppressive on some Maps. This only made the Pool of good Survivor-Perks smaller, the result is more players running DH and Sprint Burst. And once DH is nerfed, because Killers complained enough, you will have even less variety and more Sprint Bursts.
4 -
I don't think so, If they balance DH it will be more close to the other exaustation perks power, so to the contrary there will be more variety in survivors perk selection imo. But leaving that aside, this "fix" to DH isn't really a bug fix, it's a poorly implemented mechanic that shouldn't exist.
Everyone that played survivor has suffered being unfairly hit despite using DH it happened many times to everyone, but implementing this unpolished mechanic to a perk while the killers see everything unchanged in their pov its just trading ones for anothers, fairness to one side while it should be to both sides. And killers are already dealing with denied pallet hit VFX and sounds already.
About BBQ, it is overused yes but it has many counters and require you to hook someone to trigger it, it's not a just press E perk guaranteed to work.
1 -
You said "overused". So plz nerf BBQ. Dont add other things to it now when you see that your argument was not the best.
Regarding the Hit Validation - it does not matter for the Killer if they see the Feedback or not. They will not get the Hit. Even if BHVR spends time to remove this Feedback while still making sure it does not affect anything else in the game (which might not even be possible, given that they designed their game in a way that feedback is given immediatly), it will not change the outcome that Killers will not be able to hit Survivors just because those are exhausted on the ground (as it was for years).
1 -
Killer feedback matter. It's an aberration to see VFX and hear sounds that represent something in the game and then realize it didn't happen, and it also makes the game look like a cheap early access game.
6 -
This game's design decisions make perfect sense when you realize every mechanic in this game is made to ######### the killer as hard as possible
