Dead Hard Hit Validation Is *Fine*
I thought for sure it must be doing something funky in addition to normal hit validation function based on everyone's complaints, but I hopped into a few games of Killer to test it out and got hit with the DH hit validation twice; both times, I didn't even have to go through the basic attack weapon-wipe animation, it was literally just dealing with the missed-attack cooldown, which would be expected whenever someone manages to successfully Dead Hard through the hit.
What exactly is everyone's problem with it? All it means is that someone successfully used the perk Dead Hard, and not only that, they used it for the far weaker and less problematic use so they're probably within easy downing distance anyway.
This is just hit validation working as intended. You get the audio cue, but you didn't actually hit, and so the survivor doesn't take damage. It's exactly the same as the pallet stun hit validation, so what's the big deal?

I do agree with you but I guess from the killer's perspective, it's frustrating when on your end, it tells you you hit them but then the server says you didn't. The problem is that bhvr hasn't fixed that problem where if your hit doesn't validate, why are the survivors still screaming from the supposed hit. It basically a big F you to the killer, and that's something that has to go so the killer doesn't get to illusion that they were supposed to hit them.
Overall, I am glad for this change so that the perk works as intended, same with the pallet stuns, but I also play killer so it's very disheartening when my game tells me I hit someone but it actually didn't.

I suppose I can see that, but it hardly justifies the general response I've been seeing across the forums, it's just a minor annoyance to get the audio cue and not get the hit.
Oh well, I imagine it'll die down over time.

This. All of this. This entire post.
It's the same thing I said with Pallet Hit Validation; I don't mind if I did actually miss, that's fair. But the game shouldn't be telling me that I did hit them only for it to go LOL JK. In the right (wrong?) hands, DH can be a moral destroyer for the killers. Having someone DH and give me a LOL JK into a Pallet Stun that also gives me a LOL JK is controller smashingly frustrating.

Haha, yeah that's true. I feel that no one's adressing the real problem where on the killers end, it still tells you you hit that survivor when you didn't through the pallet. And it's been in there for months and idk why it hasn't been removed.

yes i agree, its just poor game design, if anything the audio cue should be different telling your hit was negated due to invulnerability, which makes it instead of an annoyance very cool.

Yeah, I guess because DH is one of the strongest perks in the game that when they saw the "buff", everyone was freaking out, but really it's just supposed to be working as it was intended to from the get go. Although, now it created that same problem it's doing for the killer when the pallet hit validation was brought in.

In my opinion, Dead Hard is one of the most frustrating perks to play against in the game. Playing around it is tiring, you have to wait an extra 2-3 seconds on pretty much every chase, even if the survivor does not have it. On top of this we now have an extra inconsistency added now in the form of server validation. I can see why it might be perceived as fair to let the server decide, but a Killer must play around DH in every single chase, so I don't think the experiences around the perk are equivalent on both sides, so "fair" isn't necessarily fair.
For the record, I also use DH when I play survivor, and I didn't spend too much time exhausted on the ground, as I just didn't use the perk as late as possible constantly, I used it in a safe manner to extend chases.

And yet, even without this change, it was still one of the strongest Survivor perks.
Hopefully this means it's on the chopping block.

Honestly i just think its one more thing to the list for killers. Lots of killers are already stresses/upset with the game and it just keeps getting more agitating.
MMR.
Slinger- just un called for. You cant nerf a slow ass killer who has range limitations and 0 map pressure 3 ways without some kind of buff elsewhere.
Palket hit validation and now DH validation is a ######### soul burner for killers crunched for time.
Wraith - wee bit OP my ass.
Boons, maps, pallet count, spawn points, totem spawns, and more. Just frustrating.
But hey at least keys are not a problem anymore.

My only problem with this DH validation is that survivors with bad ping seem to get advantage out of it. Had a Mikaela today who always stood still for 2s before using her DH due to lag (she had above 150 ping) and I still got hit validated even though I predicted it. Like, how many seconds should I have to wait there?
