I feel so lucky that i managed to quit this game totally
I stopped playing since half a year ago because all the bullshit killers have to face (Yes I’m killer main). I was totally sick of it.
I just came here to see some updates.. holy they’re not good.. it seems like the game is now even more unfun for killers than before. I don’t have the slightest desire to play this game after seeing the updates.
Never felt so good to leave the game i loved before in my life. It feels like a relieve for not stuck in playing this game, to be honest.
PS: Just want to share my feelings here.. please don’t hurt me :). If anyone here happens to feel the same burden of playing killer, i advice you to take a break. It totally worths it (even if it feels bad for first or second week)

Nah, I like to hurt myself...
But Deathslinger is just too much even for me.

Yeah I’ve left for about a month or 2 now and I’m having much more fun in other games. I just find it boring now tbh

Try survivor then, unless you don't enjoy it.

Hope you have found a good (new) game to play.

+ 1k hours here but i only play rifts and events nowadays and even then i need to go a week off multiple times inbetween so i totally get you but when i come back i enjoy it again but the timespan before feeling bad again gets shorter every time tbh. Been on breaks as long as a year inbetween. Hoping for the future but i agree the game is rather trending downwards.

I picked DBD up like 2.5 years ago, played like crazy for 6-8 months, and burned out a bit. Came back after about a year and have been playing casually since. What seems to keep this game semi-playable is the simple fact that it isn't my main and I play about 2-4 hours a week.
If I tried to play this game several hours every day I would never enjoy myself because there is no consistency in matchmaking so it's hard to play game after game for me.

Yet you are here

One of these days I'll wise up and realize that the stress that BHVR keeps adding to the killer role just isn't worth the few games where the game is actually a lot of fun.
With the DH Hit Validation BS, that day might come sooner rather than later but I'm really dum so we'll see...

So you are still thinking about the game I notice. So you aren't completely over it. Mayble you should have a little game. ONE game can't hurt you can it?
4 -
Is it really quitting the game if you come back to the forums?
5 -
My muscle memory with him is screwed.

Gonna have a bad time if you try to have fun to :(
1 -
You are lucky.
And it grates me when someone tells me 'it's just a game' ...in that case I want that 15 minutes of my life back I just spent on this steaming pile of unfulfilling garbage of a match I just played...for the tenth time today.

I love this about the DbD community, honestly I do.

You are not alone, you love the game and play as killer but the delevopers keeps making it unreasonable to win as killer by slowing us down and shrinking fov, making hit swings shorter, and nerfs. While giving survivors speed boosts, invincibility, invisibility and tools to finish generators quickly, insta heals and ability to communicate killer's location.

Bo idea why are people getting mentally injured?
This game is for casual gaming, killers getting upset because of teabags, crying about gen rush etc.
Whats wrong with you guys?
1 -
Survivors get upset when i hit them.

Or hook them, or run a perk that makes flashlights not work, or a perk that reveals auras, or an addon they don't like, or punishing a farm, or slug them, or franklin them, or get a 1k, or get a 2k, or get a 3k, or get a 4k, or get a 0k. :-)

killers that spawn on the map are toxic and should be banned

Well, DBD is not a Game to play every day if you are killer main, is not a fun experience.
I understood that when they nerfed ruin to the ground. Now I just play when they release a rift, Rush It as fast as I can and leaving for a Month or two (I am lvl 42 so I Hope with this Halloween Page and Next week tome Page... I'll be done with this rift).
Is the only thing that makes me play DBD a few weeks every 40-50 days. Its better for me to invest time on games that rewards the players for trying to improve and not for being ultra buffed.

I have almost entirely stopped playing killer since MMR was introduced. Every game is extremely sweaty. "Wins" don't feel rewarding because of how I am forced to play in order to get kills. And for some reason having a high MMR on one killer ups the base of other killers MMR. I haven't touched Pig in months and months, and then my first game as her with MMR on was against thousands upon thousands of hours survivors. I only really play survivor SWF with my friends now, it's basically the only way to have any sort of enjoyable experience playing DBD nowadays.

So you agree with me after all on the killer experience.... apology accepted 😉

If anyone is saying it's unfun for killers compared to before chances are they're cry babies or new to the game.
Nothing I mean nothing can beat the state of this game 1-2 years ago.

In your opinion, what would you say made the game more fun for killers, say a year or so ago than it is now? I have a number of reasons that it is worse for killers now, but would genuinely like to hear a considered opinion from the other side.
2 -
Winning is fun. There's nothing complicated about it what makes it 'more fun'. Killers want to win since you're in a competitive mindset the entire match always thinking about what's going in in the middle of the match and winning is your reward for it as opposed to a Survivor just listening to music and their head not in the game its four people after all any of your mistakes can be repaired by your teammates, A killer can potentially lose a game by just one miss lunge. Obviously you're getting frustrated by every single thing you deem unfair in the game that cheeses your hard work. It could be anything like Infinite heals with boons, obnoxious maps like Haddonfield, SWF on comms, RNG, etc. In that sense the game is just as frustrating.
Both current and previous states were bad I just think that the game had more cheeses two years ago.
1 -
Yep! Poor killers... they face SWF squads all day and have to resort to camping and tunneling in every game to even have a slight chance at winning. Poor things. 🙄

As long as you are happy everything is fine.
But please do not judge the game just by the posts here in the forum. Most people only post when something bothers them and fewer people post when they enjoy something. This means that you will mostly find complains here...
As an example I have quit some fun. I play survivor with my friends and even thou I am pretty avarage I have my moments and plays. I play Ghostface and Cenobite and like them quit a lot even thou they are by no means top tier Killers and I am learning Hillbilly right now because his new skin was a good piece of art.
Also I like the latest patch with changes to Spirit, Trapper and Ghostface. A good patch in my opinion.
You are right, if the game is no fun for somebody they should take a break, enjoy some other games or maybe just watch some streamers play DbD. Maybe take a short break, maybe a longer one, depending on your mood. This is a game after all, it should be played for fun and nothing else.

Sorry, but I still can't see your argument about why the killer experience is better now than it was now. I don't know what you mean by "cheeses". My point stands that it is harder now than it was to be killer two years ago. If anything your above points kinda make it sound like you agree with me.
4 -
In layman's terms.
List your problems with the game right now and the game back then still had most of its faults and had more.
0 -
Ok. I already did, but will do so again. And also, you are framing is as "problems", and misrepresenting my point. I am simply talking about how it is harder as a killer now than it was, based on my own experience, and offering reasons for that.
1) Killer nerfs in the last 2 years (Freddy, Spirit, Wraith, Deathslinger to name a few).
2) Boon Totems
3) Matchmaking
4) Pallet volume
5) Most importantly my experience that even as an average player, every game I play now is so much harder than even when I started. Objectively so.
Assuming you agree with even just one of those, my point is valid.
5 -
To chime in, I think object of obsession made the game hard for killer a year or two ago. Im not sure it was harder than the current meta in general, but it made games against swf very difficult.
0 -
Oh I forgot about that. Yes, I almost want to quit as soon as I see the survivors have that. Swf alert lol.
0 -
Guys, i stopped playing this game 2 years ago.
I came back to just tell you.
0 -
I used to play this all the time but now days i can literally only stomach a couple of games a week..
Thank god i found Hunt showdown and Tarkov!

Stop putting words you want to hear in people's mouths.

No need. You already put them in your own 😁

It’s always best to take breaks from DBD every now and than. This game can burn me out.
1 -
Wait that's just your list as to why the game is 'harder' now?
Lmfao do you not remember the Full insta heals? 4 Meta perks of the apocalypse they weren't Nerfed? broken mettle of man? Infinite loops since breakable doors didn't exist? spawning strong tiles even more and pallet city? Meta toolboxes? Fog offerings actually working? Maps were huge but some of those were sorta downsized right now, Hiding under hook exploits, Survivors doesn't lose add ons so they can bring it again in the next match?,See through tiles so mind game was worthless, Red light config to so red stains are so bright so again no more mindgame, etc and these are just stuff on top of my head.
Matchmaking? Lmao the game has been this way off and on over the years every time they try to implement a matchmaking criteria and they tried multiple times. I don't see the difference.
Again hard disagree as to why the game is 'harder' right now. Game was a lot harder back then.
1 -
The only way to fall in love again is to swap sides i used to be a killer myself but damn i wish i had known how much more fun it is playing a survivor
0 -
Thank you lol ppl take this game so serious like it's life or death. And I just be in this forum like dude....... It's a game...... Stop getting so frustrated over something that's so trivial lmfao
0 -
oh i feel you, but i wouldn't quit, i just take small breaks here and there
0 -
Again (and I can't believe I need to keep saying this). Please read..... I am not comparing the game with "back then", or saying it is harder for killers "than ever".
I'm saying that in the approximate two years since I have played the game, it is harder now than it has ever been. And I gave you objective reasons why that is so.
So continue to mock and show disrespect if you wish. Unfortunately that is all too common on here when people are trying to express their experiences
0 -
It has mostly just been killer nerfs the past few months, and I doubt the trend changes too much. We are only just getting started. We still need vault validation. I am waiting on it.
1 -
And I gave you objective reasons as to why I disagree that it's harder before. It's no way harder now. Oh please don't pull the mock card here. If I wanted to rain on your parade I would have gone harder.
0 -
You gave reasons why it was harder at launch, but you failed to give reasons why it was harder two years ago. Whereas I gave you reasons why today is tougher than when I first started
No need to continue this discussion though, as you come across a bit too aggressive for a reasoned debate. We either have different experiences in the game or you are still not understanding my perspective. Either way no hard feelings and good luck.

Underrated comment.

Hey, if you weren't having fun, It's a good thing you stopped sinking so many hours in.
I hope you've found something you love!

Mate all I listed was available two years ago where did you even get the idea I was talking about launch state? I wasn't even present at launch lmao, I joined when Legion dropped but from seeing even older video the game's state was even horrid. It's a gaming miracle that this game survived 5 years.
