Does anyone play Pyramid Head anymore?
Recently started playing Pyramid Head again. I remember enjoying going for those blind shots with Punishment of the Damned, so I decided to give him a dust off and a good go.
What happened to him? What once was a fun, risk/reward killer for me, now seems so sluggish, it takes so long just to start Rites of Judgement, and he seems just as slow recovering from it. What’s the point of his recovery time from missed attacks if it takes twice as long just to start the animation? I fail most of the time to hit survivors vaulting pallets because I’d have to predict it light years ahead, and even when I do, the sound cue alerts survivors exactly what I’m about to do.
Any Pyramid Head players have any tips for navigating him?

I don't think activating the power changed.
It's just the cooldown of missed and maybe hits with the power, as well as the removal of an instant m1 out of the power.

Perhaps it’s just me imagining it, but the animation where he digs the sword into the ground seems agonisingly slow. Has there really been no change to it whatsoever?

Definitely none that was reported.
They coulda either shadow nerfed him, or it's a bug if thats the case. I've seen zero gameplay from his perspective since his changes, so I can't say for sure if it's currently changed.

- Nerf: cancelling Rites of Judgement now applies the same slow-down for the same duration as activating it (3.68 m/s for 1 second).
- During this time, The Executioner is also prevented from initiating a Basic Attack.
- Buff: reduced the cool-down after using Punishment of the Damned to 2.25 seconds from 2.75 seconds.

Just compared two videos, one of Otzdarva’s 4 month old Pyramid Head gameplay and one of a public match review of the Blighted Skin 1 day ago. There is most definitely a difference in the speed of the animation.
As nothing has been stated, I’m guessing this is a bug/shadow nerf situation.

Alright, after watching some videos-
It's still 1 second, but they seemed to have slowed down the animation, possibly to make sticking the sword in the ground more in line with the second? Before he would spend a good portion of it already in the ground waiting to finish the charge.
Yeah, this'll make him feel more sluggish but he's not actually charging slower at least. phew

I'm a P Head main and the best I would suggest is try to mind game them more when they get to loops or pallets. Also predicting their movement isn't that hard if you know the loop they are going to use. His trail of torment helps him out alot now with the speed issues.

I see what you mean, the sword hits the ground the same time the bar fills. Thank you for investigating and coming to your conclusion! Glad they didn’t just straight up shadow nerf him, he’s been through enough with the cancellation changes.
