Taking A Break Till They Fix Gen Speeds
Ngl this latest update was the poorly thought out update yet. Absolutely ruined the game for solo and killers. Didn't fix hackers. Didn't do anything about the toxicity. Gens can be completed in two minutes instead of 4. Can't run Hex perks at all anymore.
The event doesn't even feel like an event.
I am out till they actually do something to make the game worth playing again, it's no surprise there has been a steady drop in players.

It's surprising this has to be said. There is more that goes into gen speeds than just the base speed to complete a gen itself. Great Skill checks, toolboxes, add-ons, perks, and amount of survivors working on a single gen impact how fast a gen can be completed. Nobody wants to sit on a gen for 80 seconds, that's boring and that isn't a problem. However 2 or more survivors running BTL and Prove Thyself with green tooly's and charge add-ons finishing all the gens in a little over 2 minutes is a problem. "Apply pressure" doesn't work when it costs you 2 gens to get to even 1 gen survivors are working on, and any survivor in chase only tries to pull you to the other side of the map. The game is in a very bad state.

That was just one example, don't just sensor in the one situation I listed of using prove thyself and btl. Rarely you will face a swf gen rushing. The point is with contributing factors gens get completed too quickly in normal matches and it's ruining the fun for everyone. In addition to other aspects of the game like the cheating, bugs, and toxicity of it's community.

I'm also very disappointed that patch after patch, gens aren't addressed, and instead survivors get more and more tools to turn the killer into their plaything.

I don't know what exactly your problem is. I tried both sides killer and single surv it is pretty much the same as before.

There should be some toxicity in the game. It's still a pvp game with competitive elements.
This is not the real world, and people play games to take a break from reality.

Well there is an easy way for clickiers
Add charges to flashlights like charges but not like now more like bubba does.Lets say max charges are 7 each click consumes one charge.
Each charge is 5 secs if you keep pressing it.You can hold it to consumes charges but once you stop pressing ur mouse the charge is consumed.

Great idea, but I would say 3sec x 4 charges. So still keep around 4 blinds like a Yellow flashlight does. 5x7 = 35sec is a huge buff.

Hackers are a big problem right now. Just ran into one tonight (made it so I couldn't be injured). I'm honestly worried about getting banned because of it. I think I'm gonna take a break.

I disagree. Survivor spawns could be looked at, but I do believe gen speeds are 100% fine.

I more or less agree. The actual speed of the gen is not the inherent reason that gens fly. I feel there are a few different ones and tnat nerfing the speed too much would just make the game even more of a qte simulator for survivors which isn't ideal. I feel they could be increased ever so slightly, but realistically there are other things they could do to address the issue without triggering survivor mains.

Devs in the latest QnA said that they don't touch gen speeds.

The second the size of maps or the number of pallets gets touched Survivor mains are going to explode.
Just like the second that tunneling is touched Killer mains will explode.

Gens speeds are fine until survivors bring toolboxes. It takes around 2.5-3m to repair all 5 gens with swf players and fastest possible I could get is 15sec to repair first gen with little help and toolboxes.
Gen regression speed is Bs and needs to be buffed too. I don't know exact numbers but it feels 50% of basic repair speed while it should be 150% so it was worth kicking a gen in case u don't run Pop.

They aren't gonna touch them because it isn't needed. Making gens take longer would just make people quit or play killer. Gens are the most boring thing in the game.

It's a great idea! furthermore, I wouldn't be worried about time anymore. Only infinite time charges. Limited charges. If you want to keep your flashlight on the whole match is up to you. But you have the clicki clicki issue out of the equation.

That’s so stupid. Not your suggestion, but the fact that you think clicking flashlights has anything to do with being “tocos”. Just play Leauge. You’ll learn what toxicity is after geting hard flamed all match by someone on the enemy team for poking them too much they don’t like it.

I don't want gen time increased what so ever...That would just suck.
I do want survivors to have to maybe walk/run to a gen/totem instead of spawning on top of both of them. It's a great feeling when Disco pops right when you get the ability to move at start, or Lethal shows 1 on your hex, 3 on separate gens.
I would also like pallet/tile combinations to be looked at. 2-3 pallets leading to gym and/or shack just example.

I think base gen speeds themselves are fine. I think there are other problems which range from toolboxes, BNPs, survivor spawns, and map sizes (and more) that actually make it an issue.
For insight: a BNP, if you hit both skill checks, saves you 15 seconds on a generator: 7 seconds baseline, and an additional 4 seconds per successful skill check.
When it comes to spawns, I think survivors should generally always spawn together or very close to each other, and the killer should spawn in such a way that it guarantees 3 adjacent generators will be blocked if corrupt is being used. I still think some kind of "early game collapse" mechanic would be a good idea.
Oh and also, fix hex totems being in plain sight of survivors when they load into the match. Idk how this is still a thing in 2021.
Then make maps like Red Forest smaller and we're getting somewhere.

Clearly survivor player. Gens are broken. Entered a match yesterday three times in a row guess what 2 gens simultaneously pop within 2 minutes. How is this fine. That's before I could move too far from my spawn location

"You have a different opinion, so you must be a survivor main!!"- Nope! I play both 50\50. Gens are fine. The devs could look at making certain maps smaller and survivor spawn locations. That's all. They aren't gonna touch gen speeds because it isn't needed.

I feel like your going to be waiting a while then. Devs have stated their okay with gen speeds atm and I have to agree with them.

The devs are balancing gen speeds around the median result being some survivors escape and some die. Since some are expected to escape that means most games against equally skilled players end up with the gens completed. So even if you play reasonably well as a killer they’re expecting the gens to be done most of the time. Some killers seem to incorrectly think the devs want it to be a 50/50 shot of the Exits being opened but that’s not actually the goal.
Therefore if most of your games are resulting in 1-3 kills then the gen speeds are probably where the devs expect them. On the other hand, if the most common result is 0-1 kills per match then the speeds might be too fast. Either way, though, doors opening most matches is supposed to be the norm.

A better censorship program, one that instead of randomly guessing if a word should be censored or not, it's just a list of censored words. I don't care if people find work arounds by going "fluck" instead of "#########". That's funny.
Taking harassment reports more seriously. More serious punishment for things like bigotry, encouraging suicide, and critical derogatory terms. No more of this hand holdy - wrist slapping punishment.
A band aid fix could be to just add the ability to remove the chat option in settings before and after the game, so you can't even have the option in the before game, and end game lobbies to open it. It becomes too much of a hassle to turn on, and it benefits from "out of sight, out of mind".
That's only 3 things that are easy to implement. Other games have been doing 100x better at stopping toxicity in their games. Square Enix is a prime example of a company that expertly handles toxicity in their games.
We also have to stop blaming the community for being toxic, and start blaming the people that let them be toxic.
Edit; I don't care about teabagging, flashlight clicking, hitting on hook, etc - things you can do in game. I consider that twerking and raving. It's the allowance of the amount of hatred in the game that gets me.

Could very well. They really only need to change things that make gens go faster, and map layouts/sizes. I don't care how they fix gen speeds, as long as they fix them.
The recent change to BTL has made the game unplayable in my MMR, and playing Killer at all you're going to get at least 1 kill - 2 if you abuse boring tactics like camping/tunneling. So you're MMR can't go down as Killer. As survivor the games go too fast you can't even pip, sure I don't mind black pipping. If it's not gen speed, it's the other reasons I've mentioned that makes this game hard to play every single match, Killer or Survivor.
