Should dead hard give endurance?
Now that dead hard got the hit validation and many players are feeling robbed out of their hits, what do you think about Dead Hard giving endurance during the dash instead of invencibility? Killers could still hit you, you'd get the speed boost but would need to mend after. Considering Dead Hard is easily on the top 5 best perks for survivors, I think this would be a fair trade.
What do you think?

Doesn't that mean you'd get the hit cooldown, which is slower than the missed hit cooldown, so they'd actually get more distance on you, making it more effective in a chase?

Honestly... I kind of like that idea? It's wonders beyond the horrible hit validation making Killers feel like they're swinging wet noodles.
But follow up question, would the Killer then be expected to wipe their blade? That could be contentious.

That would be a huge buff. Instead of a 1 second dash you now also get a 2 second speed boost.

Wouldn't the speed boost upon getting hit make the perk overall better? Avoid getting downed + minor sprint burst seems a bit much.
I don't think mending is an issue either so it wouldn't really alleviate the power it holds.

have suggested this numerous times before ye, you shouldn't be having attacks/projectiles literally phase through you (now ghost hitting you apparently), iframes don't belong in a one-sidedly offensive pvp game
hit e = self mini styptic on demand, no speedup on hit, no lunge to reset chase

It sounds better that way, I agree that frames of invincibility make no sense so a change like this wouldn't hurt anyone. Also, the devs are pretty stubborn about ""consistency"" in this game so endurance to dead hard is a no brainer.

the other bit i posited for those who don't like the insanely powerful exhaustion perks (okay not so much smash + head on is weird) would be for dead hard to be a total protection hit (all usual effects but no damage/deep wound + speedup) on death hook, which thematically makes a lot more sense anyway (details to be worked out would be conditions like injured/if it was a one-off or if it could trigger more than once if allowed)
i do kind of despise how with validead hard most everyone i run into has an absolute chase reset (if they're good at tiles which is when dh is a serious game problem anyway) every time i run into them, even instantly again if picked up off the ground moments after being downed

Dead Hard could be like a "block" move. The survivor gets hit but takes no damage and doesn't get a speed or distance boost and the killer has the normal attack cool down.

DH should inflict Deep Wound

that would be so much worse
that's just on command old mettle of man, which dead hard already is pretty close to. this would buff it.

Buff a perk that rewards survivors for playing bad? N O

This would be an insane buff. I don't think you realize that a speed boost is probably a lot more important than needing to heal in twelve seconds.

Think this is just a dead hard buff.
Here's the main reasons:
- Speed boost
- Killer hit cooldown
- Killer won't know when you used it
- Unhooks are guaranteed
This would make every killer cry.

Does that mean Dead hard is a 40sec cool down of Mettle of man?

I like this idea actually. Remove the dash, so there's no more DH for distance. You only get the distance if you eat a hit and go into deep wounds.

There's a speed boost from DH anyway.
The cooldown could be lessened for that type of hit to compensate.
The animation could be kept minus the actual forward movement.
I'm not sure how you figure the last one.

No way

Not the same sort of speed boost as you'd get from getting hit.
The unhook thing I'm just meaning that you could use it while injured when getting an unhook. Basically like giving yourself borrowed time. Also the times where a survivor gets an unsafe unhook, then dead hards through the unhooked survivor so they get downed again won't work.
I see why people hate how it looks now with hit validation but I'm not sure giving dead hard the endurance status effect instead is the way to go.

Agreed, it's already strong as ****
