Noed Experiment I guess

So my friend who is known to throw in like every game we ever play has a thing in dbd where he runs small game and just runs by people doing gens to use small game and get totems jokin about it and whatever. He has been doing this for like a month now so probably around 50 games or something idk and so far the man has yet to "counter" a single noed while pretty much dedicating his heart and soul to just looking for totems. Im now struggling to understand how you're supposed to counter noed after this, does mean literally every survivor needs to take up a perk slot for something that could be completely useless like half of the time? If one guy constantly searching and ignoring gens isnt enough, how much is enough without completely throwing the game (i mean hes pretty much already completely throwing our games as one guy doing this). Well update mid-writing this i just played a game with two of my friends on small game well they barely got the five and lost to legion with two gens left to repair cuz you know trying to counter noed doesnt get gens done at all so thats cool ig.Now even more i dont understand how killers just tell survivors to "do bones" . Some big brain killer please explain without saying "bRO i JuSt pLAyEd & DiD AlL FiVe tOtEmS mYsELf" everyone knows ur bullshitting. Cant wait to see if I'm hit with the classic "NoOb sUrViVoR".

Each person on the survivor team should try to know two totems are down, by and large, at least for SoloQ.

I'm a killer main, but my SWF team is mostly killer mains: we suggest using Counterforce or maps over Small Game, which is really only useful for the running totem tally at this point. We had a self-designated totem hunter as well, and they ran: Counterforce, Inner Healing, Sprint Burst and a perk up for grabs, often with a medkit. I'd suggest sommat like Lucky Break or Iron Will so your friend can break from early chases.

After it activates survivors can look for it when someone gets downed. If a door can be opened or 99'd. Then searching for the totem will very easy as there is no time limit just the survivors hook countdown.

    Best I can say

Cleansing all dulls is not a good way to counter Noed. Wait until it activates and then look for the hexed one.

Your friend is bad at Small Game, he needs Big Game to properly throw the game and cleanse all pieces of NOExoDia. But seriously though, I can get all 5 on my own if I am ignoring gens.

^^ Yeah, I rarely see people using maps. Everybody gears up for gen rushing, but not for finding totems. Small game is nice, but something that highlights them for you is much better for finding them.

Some of these posts, you would think there is 10 dull totems in a trial to worry about.

We already had a whole video done on this, Counterforce is by far the worst anti-totem perk in the game. I think I remember it being barely better than no perks at all.

Small Game and Detective's Hunch are a lot better, it's debatable which one between them is better. A Rainbow Map is obviously better than either but it's also an ultra-rare meme monster.

  • Part of the issue is with maps that have more than one level. Like the school maps and others. From my experience the cone has no knowledge of ceiling or floor limits so often times it will ping a totem that could be below or above you. It's your job at least to find it.

Small Game is still really useful because you get free boldness BP for doing something no one else wants to. And that alone still makes it viable to run boldness offering for extra BP. Just need a good chase or two to max it out after you finish the totems.

Why we still get survival BP offering I dont know... but anyway, your friend needs some more time with the game. Small Game is not what I would consider a wasted perk by any means.

Detective's Hunch is great and all, hands down the #1/#2 aura read on the survivor's side, but Counterforce is fine if you already basically know the totem spawns - if I find one, I know where the other four are with no perks needed, since their spawn mechanics are pretty consistent - and since there's been an increase in Thrill of the Hunt games, the cleansing bonus is just a QoL thing. A dedicated totem hunter doesn't necessarily need perks for it, I ran a complete chase build when I was doing it, but I'll argue that Counterforce is fine in a SWF that understands their roles.

Plus, Detective's Hunch can have an issue if you're either having mobility problems or if you have multiple gens go off in quick succession.

Agreed, though - the map is king here.
