I quit.
Look, i like this game, and im generally not the first dude to be this pessimistic, but for gods sake man, this is not enjoyable.
I already could only run the same 4 perks in the same 2 killers because if i did not this damn game was not enjoyable at all, now that they added even more ways to screw over totems after literally getting a brand new perk only for that. Which screws over half of the perks on that damn build. And on top of that, i cant even play the killers i want with a EVEN WITH a meta build because the devs thought it was a good idea to NERF LOW TIER KILLERS on top of adding 2 new bullshit time wasters. All of this on top of literally removing EVERY GLIMPSE OF A CASUAL MODE IN THIS GAME. I seriously cant anymore, im done.

Boon totems are useless in soloQ. SoloQ is still the same hell it has always been.

I play killer a lot less and honestly the game feel better and easier. Like other said we have many game to choose from i personally cant wait for the tft new set

This is true. I've scarcely found them helpful so far. People with the perks will spend endless amounts of time to locate and bless/rebless totems instead of doing gens/saves. Idk, hasn't made me switch the meta perks.

a game or two a day max and I stop giving a damn. Ill see what they trot out for a killer next and then decide. I don't need this game to feel punched in the nuts.

If this is happening constantly. I would advise you to stop playing till the next chapter and if you're doing that, that great. no one should lose interest in playing that fast. Hope you're doing better

I really love when a teammate brings them because I like having a safety zone, I am quite bad at survivor though. So, you know, that is probably why.

I wonder if behavior will notice that every single "I'm taking a break" "I'm quitting" etc posts are made by people who play killer, and their posts always talk about how unfun killer is now. Just seems like a pattern, you know? All the people claiming to have no fun play killer, and those who think things are fine seem to mainly play survivor. Might suggest something is unfun for one side.

Playing killer, I enjoy boon totems. Lets face it, if somebody is injured they run to the totem away from gens and the only really work in swf because in normal games, the survivors are all playing their own game.

You see if a teamate drop a boon i go to the boon and heal up quickly i dont need to look for another survivor and just like that im back putting pressure on gen and the killer lost all the pression he had on me while the other survivor are still on gen putting pressure until the killer see them

Nope, I've seen the same handful of people trash talking the game while they talk about how they are taking a "break".
Like, when people quit a game, they usually move on to something else. Let alone stay in that game's forums.

It's interesting when people say they run the same perks because they have to, which is literally what I've been doing as survivor since the beginning.
There are a lot of perks in this game that don't get enough love, and some that are very strong. It all needs balancing and honestly always has, but it's a long process.

depends how aggressive they are. If i'm getting blocked and flashed more often than not and don't feel like resorting to scumbag play I can do other things.

Have you tried the game again today?
The reason I ask is that something was spectacularly broken MMR wise in the Halloween patch, but it seems to have been fixed today.
Even playing at my usual bizarre hours, I'm back to having mostly fair matches.
For the last week or so, I've been getting matched up against absurdly good 2000-4000 hour SWF squads and took a few days off in frustration.

I can see that, without gen slowdowns games are done too quickly. Boons make it difficult to track/keep survivors injured (which also slows down the game)
Then again I main nurse now and none of that really matters with Sally. I throw on haunted and undying and wait for that blessing to pop.

That's me with Hag and Demo. The solution is hyper-mobility. Pinhead also does well against totems, weirdly enough.
The problem is that they create a permanent, fire-and-forget safe zone for survivors that takes more time to cleanse than to simply set up another one elsewhere.
After you cleanse one, it should go on cooldown for 120 seconds or so.

Your problem is that the killer probably knows you where you are going, the either know where the totem is and don't care or you have just showed them. You are healing up while your other teammates are getting downed, gens are being pressured and the rest of the team are doing the saves.

Its not useless at all, of course a SWF can squeeze all the juice of boons but i play soloq and most of the times im matched with other boon perks survivors wich gives interesting games. its not that what really matter but instead the skill of your team, and omg i get so much potatoes most of the times. That's the true problem with soloq, that the MM is broken.

Haven’t played in a few months but my friend showed me the witch outfit and Elodies contest winner outfit.. so I got on finally. the witch one was pretty easy to get but I’m not going to even bother playing for elodies.. I’m done unless they bring back the old rank system. I used to be rank one - three but I’m getting brand new players throwing pallets down, killers who can’t hit me and run noed and camp, and boosted players bragging about being red rank when it’s a grade and you can’t depip anymore after you hit a certain grade… so just more opportunity for survivors to be boosted and brag. It is Absolutely a participation award, literally if you play enough anyone can get to it

i just switched to surv tbh, is not only WAY EASIER but at the same time funnier and less frustrating lol (a couple of matches of killer sometimes, but still on ash when im usually iridiscent, i couldnt care less anyway)

The real issue is the Covid house arrest mentality we are all still feeling. Games as anything can start to feel stagnant and and boring when your not contrasting it with other life activities and goals. Its in this state that we are in right now and we judge everything harshly my suggestion to you is take a break and do something else for a while not another game mind you but something that intrigues your mind just as sharply and you may find your love of gaming again. This is called self reflection for we cannot continue to judge others demeanor without first judging ourselves and once you find yourself at peace then you can perhaps look at others missteps with a clear mind and properly guide them. I see a lot of frustration in your post and its really speaking of a bigger issue and i truely hope you figure it out my friend and if you never return i hope you find something at least you love to play in the future. if so many killers leave why is killer queue 10 minitues and survivor queue 20 seconds? there are cleary still far, FAR more killer player then survivor player

Killer really is just not fun anymore. I try and enjoy it, but if you dont sweat hard and run absolute meta builds, you simply lose. CoH removes your ability to have macro pressure. Ironically enough Trapper has become one of my favored killers due to him largely ignoring the CoH bullshit

The way you frame your post I can't tell you have been playing for that long. Regardless, what you do is what many have already been doing... Crying "I quit" followed by false claims by not understanding the game that you so claim you've played for a length of time.
How did the new totems screw totem perks? If you're interacting with a hex long enough to create a boon, you very likely would've been able to just cleanse the hex without the boon. So in essence, it is the same thing as cleansing your totem, except it takes longer (14 seconds vs 24 seconds). Not only that but the effects of the Hex still works.
Which part of what I said was passive aggressive? In fact, quite the opposite actually. If you claim to quit a game but still linger around because in reality we all know it was just a cry for attention.... THAT is very passive aggressive.
Many of us take breaks and don't feel the need to announce it. I took a break for a month and just came back for the Halloween event. I guess I missed my opportunity to say goodbye to everyone for a month.

I'm probably coming off as aggressive here, but I genuinely want to know where what I see as a self-soothing delusion comes from. The forum isn't the game, and people in threads you posted (and others) said they're sticking around the forums due to friendships they made here. Is that so hard to believe, especially in a forum with pretty active off-topic sections by comparison?
