Medium vaults are too punishing.
Honestly I know it's a controversial opinion but I really think they should speed up medium vaults. With just a regular M1 the killer can hit you from way too far away if you just don't have the angle for a fast vault. Once the pallet is gone the shack can be easily turned into a death box by just making sure a survivor vaults from the short side and then you just die.

I love how Clown is one of the worst killers in the game and this post right here is a nice suggestion to make him below F tier.

Medium vaults are only 0.9 secs compared to a fast vaults 0.5
They're fast enough already. Just learn to get your fast vaults down

The vault speeds are actually more than that when you include running away from the window. The killer can still hit through windows so you have to get away from an entire lunge hit from the window before you're safe. With a medium vault when all is said and done it's like 2 seconds because you start with no momentum and have to gain it again when running.

That's why it's always better to get away from a window a bit to queue a fast vault.

Getting the fast vault is one of the few avenues of player skill available to survivors.
Doing objectives? Hold M1.
Getting chased? Hold W.
So unironically the answer to this thread is git gud.

A big part of survivor strategy is learning how to maximize loop efficiency. Primarily one of those things is guaranteeing fast vaults, which is more than mechanically possible at nearly every loop in the game with proper spacing and movement. I learned a long time ago how to do this, and rarely ever get medium vaults. I don't say this very often, but if you are medium vaulting often enough for it to be detrimental to your gameplay you seriously need to git gud

there is perk to do make medium vaults faster. Its called resilience+Spine chill. If your injured, you will vault in 0.765 seconds instead of regular 0.9(I think). Fun fact, medium vaults used to be slower. They were already improved. When mechanic first came out, It took 1.1 second to medium vault a window though this was long time ago(4 years ago roughly).
They can't really make medium vaulting faster because it would ruin the integrity of red glow mindgames for killers. It would make windows too safe.
One thing they could do is reduce amount of time needed to walk in straight line to fast vault a window. Maybe this could be a perk? I do not know exact numbers but I think you need "run" forward for like 2 seconds to fast vault a window. Maybe a perk could reduce it to 1.5 seconds. A perk like that could help survivors fast vault windows more consistently.
Who knows though, a perk like that might get as much hate as Iron will does for improving survivor's looping capacity.

That's not true. Even the best tournament survivors don't take every single angle wide to get fast vaults.

idk what tournaments your watching but they definitely always try to the reason they might not get it sometimes is simply a accident
