Is deadhard broken or something?
From what I'm gathering and from my experiences, dead hard instead of having immunity frames just makes you immune because everytime I hit somebody and they dead hard they still scream and have blood and it's really misleading sometimes. Wish it would go back to having my attack just whiff

from what I have read in the patch notes and the videos from so many content creators, "Dead Hard" is now validated with a yes/no hit by the Server, instead of P2P. Below is something I posted in another thread, but this is just my opinion.
"I think now, Dead Hard works "as intended", only because it's a server side decision instead of the validation being on the killer, like a P2P validation such as the older Call of Duties.
For me, the problem isn't just Dead Hard, I think it lies in that Killers -still get the hit confirmation, the animation for that hit confirm, but nothing is given-. Dead hard false confirmations should stop giving the killer the hit animation because it's like a light version of a Decisive Strike. The survivor runs away and the killer is left cleaning off fake blood and has now lost chase. If the server side says it's not a hit, somehow, the devs have to make killers swing through like a missed swing instead. Who the hell knows how that would even get implemented. Another example of Server Side Screwiness was me as a survivor playing against a Deathslinger. I feel sorry for the killer because I'm pretty sure if it was Killer side confirmation he probably would have gotten 3 spears and 2 hits at the Fun Bus. I even watched him get a false hit confirmation as I jumped through the Fun Bus window. It was totally unfair."

But the killer isnt left with cleaning off the blood, they hear the scream but still have the same cooldown as if they missed. Ive yet to see any footage of a hit thats been validated doing a blade wipe

I don't have footage but it definitely has. I played Hag and had it happen about twice in a match. It's frustrating. I was left standing there wiggling my big ass fingers in the air above my head with no hit LMAO.

BHVR decided that playing as killer wasn't frustrating enough so they decided to add the broken hit validation from pallets to dead hard. So now instead of just getting "You idiots thought you hit the survivor just because we told you that you hit the survivor" fake-out hits on just pallets, now you can get them at any point any survivor is injured.

It happened to me yesterday. Dwight hit, scream, blood, I'm slowled cleaning my weapon yet he didn't go down and instead dropped a pallet on me as soon as the wipe animation finished

Correct. I don’t know why people are saying it’s doing the blade wipe despite the hit “not registering”. The funny thing is they never seem to post evidence of this. 🙄

I understand that this is anecdotal evidence, but I swear that it has happened for me. Just because I don't have a capture system doesn't mean that it didn't happen -for me-. What reason do I have to lie about it, especially if I'm a survivor main. I shouldn't care about this nor should I show any pity for a killer having these issues. Correct for whom? Your cynicism is garbage.

And next time it happens, take a video with your phone or something - capture it and post it. Because NONE of the videos of Dead Hard validation I’ve seen personally have had a blade wipe.

It’s not a bug it’s hit validation. The game’s servers think that you got the hit but what’s it’s doing is correcting itself because of the timed Dead Hard. Them screaming does make it frustrating but it’s working as it’s intended.

Thats a video from Scott Jund, showing that you get the miss animation if the server rolls back your hit, not the successful hit wipe animation. If you are getting the full animation it is a bug, and taking a video of it and submitting it would be your best bet to get it fixed.

What you ignored is that I don't have a reason to make it up. As stereotypes go in this forsaken forum, I'm a survivor main that isn't supposed to care about what killers go through and I should be enjoying this fix for dead hard, or for some instances, Server Side Confirmations. Server Side Confirmations are more likely than not, working as intended and that's great. I also personally have had false confirmations + cleans happen, regardless what your attitude and uppity BS says. Yes, I acknowledged I didn't capture it, nor do I have a way. No, I don't need your demands for evidence to be met because I am not trying to prove a hypothesis / a theory / etc. nor am I here to prove it to you or anyone else. I can say and express what happened to the best of my knowledge.
TruEternity did it right. I understand that I need to get it captured but I've already explained this. If this is a bug, then it's a sufficient guess at what may be going on and he didn't go out of his way to be pretentious about someone else's experience. Thank you for being cool about it.

My original comment in this thread wasn’t even directed to you yet here you are calling me “cynical” and “pretentious”. Instead of getting defensive, I’d be happy to be proven wrong if you post evidence of what you’re saying. The issue everyone has been posting is audio of a hit triggering when they get dead hard validated. NOTHING has been posted (to my knowledge from the countless threads I’ve read) that the blade wipe animation occurs in this instance.
I think this a fair thing to say, right? Now you can respond in a civil manner or we can devolve this thread further with name-calling and profanity.

I cant remember if it does the wipe animation but personally I would say he deserved everyone of these hits imo

Watched the whole video, there were zero blade wipe animations from the validations.
Some of the recovery times are longer because he did a lunge, which is longer recovery than a non-lunge M1.
There is incorrect visual feedback with the blood on those validations, though.

That's the thing. I think everyone here knows about what you said. The detection stuff, everyone already pretty much agrees with that.
Yes, you were responding to them, thus the quote, but then you cast doubt because of the lack of evidence. Not everyone is going to post evidence and I don't expect people to always have the ability to. Yeah, it's a logical thought process that because there isn't visible evidence, it probably doesn't happen. Just because someone hasn't captured it doesn't mean it doesn't happen or exist. This is why I responded in kind. No matter what you think, your "funny thing is + emoji" is cynical and casts doubt on someone's anecdotal experience. Anecdotals, yes, doesn't mean much, but I know what I seen.
You worried about name calling and it devolving? It already got there with "silly". If it's silly for you then move on. I'm not here to go out of my way to please your "happiness" of possibly being proven wrong. We can keep wasting each other's time if you want.

Probably, I just had his stream on when he did the testing, so I thought of his vid first.

But then you have that it just eats the attack. With old DH if chainsaw sprinted into a survivor you would go through them and hit a different one, but now it stops you completely. It's like if a survivor DH through a bear trap and it gets disarmed.

Dead hard got buff because dead hard got fix the only thing they did is remove the dead hard on the ground feel bad moment but because the server are ######### the killer feel robbed

You’re right, I shouldn’t have used the word “silly”… I didn’t think it would hurt your feelings and elicit the response it did.
If what you’re saying is true then it obviously would need to be fixed. But since there’s been no video evidence to show that this is actually a thing I don’t think it’ll be addressed/acknowledged. That’s all I have to say really.

There’s no point continuing this back and forth affair. I’ll just take my leave by reiterating this:
”I haven’t seen this issue on ANY streams or YouTube videos. Maybe it is a thing, but no one has provided proof of it. However, it’s obvious that hit/dead hard validation is coded HORRIBLY by BHVR and needs to be fixed.”
