What is fair?

What do you think is fair and how would we define it in dbd? For some people they do want actual balance. While for others fair is improving the game solely for themselves, despite the effects it may have on someone else. Nobody in this game can stop you from playing how you want. They can shun you for it but ultimately they can't do anything about it. So do you use this to your advantage or do you try to play in what is considered "fun" or "fair"?

I want genuine opinions.

That would be better than current Ruin. As current Ruin gets rid of .5 charges a second, this change would make it regress 0.5625 charges a second.

Fair would be a majority of trials ending with 2k and 8 or 10 hooks.

To reach this goal, some tweaks are needed for pallets/windows number, jungle gym layouts, map size and some perks rework.

I reread it 5 times and still don't understand do u want to talk about balancing, about people complaining or about way of playing.

I think theres so much variety in this game that makes it hard to balance even if it was a perfect world an MMR matched people with exactly the same rating players.

How do you balance between solo and SWF, between Trapper with yellow rarity and below addons or Honing Stone and the Iri that opens a trap every 30 seconds.

Add in the RNG of the maps, and the maps being better or worse for survivor\killer, or even depending on the killer\map combination.

I definitely think there lots of room to improve but when you take all the factors into account, it almost seems impossible to truly make most games feel fair y'know?

    Not DBD that’s for sure

Resources for survivors not only vary from map to map, but also have random set ups, so you could play a match on Shelter Woods with nothing but TL walls and 3 pallets one match, and then play on Fractured Cowshed with 50 pallets and a ton of good loops that chain into each other the next

Survivors can very easily stack the odds in their favour through voice comms and quad chance builds, as well as map and hatch offerings + good toolboxes and keys, as well as powerful medkits

and killers can stack the odds in their favour by just getting semi-good with Nurse and running quad slowdown

Add to that the various bugs, crashes and surprisingly common cheaters, meaning that your entire match could be already decided by the scotch tape this game was programmed on or by someone who downloaded cheats made by someone much smarter then them for 5 bucks

the fact that this game has MMR is a ######### joke

    Isn't current ruin 200%?

I don't know actual numbers, so I just use it as % instead.

It is, how ever current base regression speed is 0.25c/second

Ruin being at 200% doubles that, at .5c/seconds

If you increase base regression to "150%" then it would become base regression speed would be 0.375c/second.

    150% of 0.375 is 0.5625.

If you would want ruin to be unchanged, it would have to be approximately 133.33% to compensate for the buff (this roughly keeps it at 0.5c/second)

Fair.... Right now.... No perks on either side... no offering (besides BP offerings)... No Items brought... No Addons

Pray to the RNG gods for a "balanced" map

Killer: 8 hooks (maybe 10 IDK)... No Camping/Tunnelng

Survivor: take more time to get Gens done maybe like 8-9 minutes... No "Genrush"

    Hard... right?

    Though question...

I would say the immediate aftermath of Curtain Call's release is what I would call "fair", in DBD.

While some things here and there could have used small adjustments, I would say the game back then had the right amount of strong, intermediate, and weak stuff for both sides.

Oh, alright. I was thinking both compare to current.

With change in mind, I would make it 150% base compare to current and 100% ruin

A place where people set up stalls to sell things to potential customers, there usually not permanent but usually have a weekly schedule in most places. for example here in where i am in Narnia we have fruit and vegetable stall from the local farmers or prosthetic wangs from blacksmiths

    Kind Regards,

A bit of both. I do try to play in a "fair" and "fun" way that some survivors like to say such as not stacking a bunch of slowdowns, not playing "overpowered" killers, and not camping or tunneling, but I usually end up doing the last one a lot cause I don't want to deal with people who say that you don't need all that and then proceed to tbag and click at the exit gate with full meta builds. It's kinda hard to "please" some people while also having fun in a game where I'm suppose to be a ruthless killer.
