About the Entity
We have alot of killers, but do you guys think The Entity ever be one of them? I'd like to see her in action one day.

This would, without doubt, ruin what the Entity is. Nobody is scared of the playable killers anymore, because we know everything there is to know about them.
The Entity is, for the most part, an unknowable force of nature. It's motives are unknown, and on an incomprehensible scale. It's undoubtably more intelligent, or at the very least infinitely more powerful than your average John Doe, especially when you're on its self-made turf. Making it something that can be understood and be trumped would severely undermine that. Not to mention that it simply doesn't make sense lore-wise.
Also, with the EGC, the Entity just intervenes and just mutilates any survivor still in the trial. It'd need to neuter its own powers when in a trial of its own for that to be remotely fair gameplay-wise, which, again, makes no sense.

I mean, the Entity feeds off strong emotions. Her being in trial would make sense as she could feed off the strong fear survivors have when facing her. It wouldn't ruin her. She also could stay unknown, just playable

She/it would need to obey gravity and collision, cannot pass the trial's barriers, be stunnable, be blindable, and so forth. That's stuff we know about killers. We know what their objective is, how they can achieve that, what their limits are, how to exploit said limits, etc, etc. Also, they can very much lose a trial. How's that gonna work, is the Entity gonna be displeased with itself? It can't exactly torment itself into doing better, can it?
Making the Entity playable would, quite simply, ruin the grandness of what is the Entity. Within DbD, the Entity is everything but the characters we play as. We play the Entity's game ad finitum, and it only has to observe, reward and feed.
Also, the killer is also very much a part of the feeding process. If it inserts itself as a killer, it loses out on an entirely different set of emotions to feed on.

This thread is why every suggestion to add an eldritch abomination to media trends toward being a bad choice.
You'll have people saying "wouldn't it be cool?!", people replying with "no, the coolness of these things is the unknowable", and then the first group says "no it would be cool uwu"

Entity is multi dimensional god, she doesnt have a body. Spider tentacles what we see on hooks are just manifested parts of entity so she can interact with 3 dimensional beings.
She can create worlds and kidnap people to keep them in it and let them be killed and resurrect them over and over forever...do you really want a being like that in the game where she can be stunned by a pallet? I dont think so

If we’re just talking in terms of theme, it’s not unreasonable for a cosmic entity to have or develop an avatar based on the mortal beings it manages. A humanoid avatar of the entity which occasionally inserts itself into the environments of the entities mortal pawns doesn’t seem entirely out of the question. Just like how the entity seems to subconsciously try and imitate mortal environments it encounters, it could possibly evolve to try and mimic in some twisted way the killers it uses to feed. Battles against these entity avatars would thus be more like the survivors encountering a hostile part of the entity’s realm itself versus it pitting an independent creature against them.
Mechanically… 🤷♂️ It would be interesting to have a killer who abilities kind of look like the Entity’s tendrils, allowing them to hinder survivors, block things off, put up barricades, or what have you with those spidery branches. It could also involve spider like pets or thorny traps or trenches, etc.
I have no idea if they’ll ever do an Entity avatar as a killer, but I could vaguely imagine ways to do it.

And the entity would do what, sacrifice the survivors to itself?
If it could, why waste time getting the killers in?

A cultist if the entity could be a cool thing. Like as a power can manifest her slightly.
I don't think the entity itself would be a good choice though. As explained by pretty much every one above

The actul entity is the trials themselfs, we have her already, she's literally all the matches and everything in them excluding players.
Maybe some entity blessed killer or who's partially fused with her powers but I don't think you can make entity herself a killer.

IMO there might be a Killer that utilizes The Entity to a high degree, but IMO The Entity is less of a specific thing, and simply the realm itself. It'd be like saying a human should be able to take "manual" control of a white blood cell in its body.

All the Realms and things are simply manifestations of the Survivors and Killers subconscious, which the Entity brings to life, favoring those that are negative.

Exactly. Like, the Entity could easily manifest itself in or as a killer. And people saying it wouldn't be cool or scary are wrong because it's subjective lmao

More to the point that it can't actually manifest itself as a "person". It has no concept of such. Actions and reactions are at a "cellular" scale.
The Trials are basically mitochondria.

I mean, I think having it manifest a part of it's power in trial wouldn't hurt. Especially because it wouldn't really need to be explained. It would be more like "The Entity sometimes takes part in iher own trials for fun", which doesn't take away from what she is

I mean I suppose part of The Entity could develop a sense of "self", but it wouldn't be the entire thing.

Exactly. Maybe the Entity works directly through a killer, like maybe someone from the cult that worships her. Like a split killer, half the actual killer and the other half is the Entity.

The Entity is connected to all Killers and Survivors, the Trials are comprised of The Entity itself. Some might have a stronger connection to The Entity, whatever that means, sure.
Also, why do you keep personifying The Entity as a her?

The French language uses gendered words much like the Spanish language. So entity is pronounced as female because of it as their is no male/neutral gendered word for it in the French language but I believe there is one in the German language. Idk languages are weird lol

If they're looking at "the entity" exclusively as the non-name noun with a definition (that has an associated gender) I can understand that misconception. Though The Entity is an entity.

The entity can't be a killer because it would completely ruin the idea of "A malevolent god that feeds off the suffering and hope of others through the trials" The world around everyone is literally the entity taking the memories of killers as a sort of way to make them feel in control. If the entity is a killer who the hell does she sacrifice the survivors to? Not to mention the power of the Entity would make nurse look F tier.

To everyone asking French uses the Male and Females sets of pronouns ONLY. In Spanish we use Male or Female as a sort of neutral ground sometimes. But French does not and The folks at Behavior speak French and a few of them speak English. So what they say about the lore is what it is.

The devs use she/her for the Entity so that's what I'm using. I'm also a dude so no projection here

I guess so, but I think the idea of a Killer directly controlled by The Entity is still a cool idea, and could totally work as a middle ground

The Entity is a 10,000,000,000 year old lovecraftian creature described as the source of all evil in the multiverse and world and who has eaten other universes. I don't think a creature like that really translates into a playable character.

Well, why not a Killer that is directly influenced by the Entity like a puppet then?
