I have a killer who is currently body blocking me for an hour now and still going...
So a killer has been and is still currently body blocking me waiting for me to DC. Is there anything that can be done about this while I have this person actively doing this? I think it sucks that we have no other recourse than to just DC and eat a 5 min ban cuz someone else was breaking the rules. There really should be something added to this game that stops collision if it's been active for a long enough time.
Any suggestions? I'm going out to eat and I'ma let it stay afk and if it's still there when I get back I guess I have no choice but to DC. Really frustrating design.

Nothing you can do unless either he stops doing it or you DC. Reporting him will require video evidence and filing forms on BHVR website (as well as in-game report too), but you won't be notified about whether or not your report actually did anything. It's bannable, but I haven't heard about anyone actually getting banned for taking the game hostage. It's at rumors level, no one even told anything about their friend or a friend of a friend being banned for this or anything like this. So I wouldn't put my hopes up about the ban happening if I were you.

Unfortunately, DCing is the only control you have over that. Make sure youโre recording it though so you can submit video evidence of the killer breaking the rules.

Come back, dc, and report the guy for holding the game hostage.

I've had this happen (and the survivor equivalent, before AFK crows were added).
Your best bet - turn on whatever recording software you happen to have handy, and go and take a stroll. When you get back, report them. You'll waste 30 minutes, they'll lose access to the game forever.

I like this body blocking guy. Sounds like an alpha male straight shooter with upper management written all over him. Learn his wisdom and apply it next game.

Sarcasm?

Do gens, open gates. Eventually, you'll be consumed by the entity.

You should take evidence at least. Pretty sure BHVR is strict about these kind of stuff.

Almost a hour? What were the other idiots doing then since they should've just done gens and start EGC. They could've ended the game there just almost at fault as the killer for not getting the game to end and letting it drag on for a hour.

I mean they could have all been dead.

Not going to lie, every body block I have ever had, I give up after a couple minutes of survivors not opening the gate. Lol. It was funny for like a minute, and then I commit to the meme... But I am not patient enough to follow through.

I would like to see some screenshots or video. Like where do u even hide yourself so he can do it.

There is this unfortunate window before closing the hatch that you can be bodyblocked alone with no way to end the match.
As for OP, record, DC, report

You can take a video and report it to https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us
Taking the game hostage is reportable.

They really should implement a new animation that kicks in after a minute and third seconds, where if the game detects that both the killer and a survivor havenโt moved, it would allow the survivor to either lose collision for 15 seconds or just have the ability to push the killer out of the way.

I agree. Would be fine if they do it once AFK-Crows appear. Just being able to lose collision for a few seconds would be enough to remove bodyblocking like this entirely. (I mean, Killers or other Survivors can still try and annoy other players with that, but at least the impact would be much smaller)

Think i'd rather take a 5min dc penalty than be stuck in a game for an hour, wise up man.

your name caught me off guard-

Record the body block, report in game for griefing, send video proof to support https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.
A killer body blocking a survivor for extended period of time is bannable, you just need to send the video proof to them.

An hour?
How?
Blame your fellow survivor for not escaping then as well ๐

If the other survivors are dead, and the hatch is open, the kililer can hypothetically bodyblock the last survivor indefinitely.
2 -
Record and report, sadly there might be no way out besides disconnecting if they're dedicated enough.
And good job in this thread so far guys, no galaxy brain "you must have done something to """deserve""" it!" posts so far ๐

No. Definitely not.

As others have said, this is reportable and most definitely bannable - no it's not the fault of the other survivors (if there are any alive). This is purely down to the killer blocking the survivor and it's only them at fault. Body blocking someone to prevent them playing the game for this length of time is not acceptable in-game at all...I want to be very clear on that.
