So I saw something in game that utterly confused me...
Please be aware I've only been playing a bit over a month now so I don't know everything about things players do or why.
But I've now seen twice so far what appears to be survivors helping killers. At first I thought maybe an achievement they were going for or maybe a tome quest had caused them to try to get the killer to do something specific for them. When I googled the issue, I saw some posts saying it's because survivor team mates were behaving in ways that made others want to rat them out.
The posts also said this is considered griefing or cheating, which is bannable if confirmed in reports.
So the question is if it's not pre-planned, and the survivor ratting out others to the killer is not appearing to be trying to ruin the game experience for everyone else ( is ratting out only the one who was causing their team problems ) is that still considered working with the killer? And how do you spot the difference between survivors trying to rat someone out versus survivors trying to farm? What would that look like? And if it's clear the situation was not pre-planned, and the killer is surprised by the the scenario, would the killer still be viewed as being at fault along with the survivor doing it?

If the survivor is helping the killer find / attack the survivors, it is reportable. If I remember correctly, the killer does not get punished for this. You can open up a ticket at https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us with evidence of griefing.

Note: May take several months for action to be taken, assuming action is taken.
