Stuck in mmr hell as survivor
Killer main playing survivor for archives. Lost a handful of games to back to back campers. Now all my teammates are hide in corner megs and hide in lockers Dwight’s. No matter how hard I try or how hard I carry, the fact that mmr is based on escapes means my team actually has to do something so my mmr goes up. But now that I only get teammates who crouch all game it feels like my mmr is in perpetual free fall. BHVR is trying to balance a 50/50 sac/escape? Where are my escapes when all I do is die for the past 12 or so rounds? What kind of balance is that?

The system is poorly thought out on Survivor side because escaping is NOT an accurate measure to determine if the Survivor is "good". The Claudette hiding in a bush all game is NOT better than the Dwight who died after doing 3 gens and looping the Killer for 5 minutes.

That's Escape Based Matchmaking for you. You have 2 options now: either find 3 competent friends and play in SWF ~200 games to boost your MMR, or buy a new copy of the game with fresh MMR and start from there.

Welcome to elo hell. Go in with a full meta build and play super safe at loops. Leave as soon as you open the gates. You might climb out of the hellhole.
If that fails, head over to dbd's discord, swf section and play in a full stack.

It's a sad state they put this game in. It was very short sighted of them to use this version of SBMMR. Especially after years of study. At least the Emblem system took into consideration how much you did in a match.
Now they are pushing players to either group up into SWF or quit. That means every killer will be forced to face more SWF, jacking games up for everyone.
Wait....I might have this wrong. How much evil genius does it take to design a system that screws both sides, and hurts the game while benefiting the most toxic aspect of it?!
Wow, the devs truly are the entity. They give us hope, then yank it away at the last second.

This. Yesterday I finished a gen, then looped the killer until my team finished the gens. Guess what? I eventually go down and my team instantly leaves me to die on my first hook. I was the best on my team (they went down super quick), yet I'm the one that is going down in mmr. 😀

That is wonderful:
As killer you get either Potatoe survivor or sweat-comp:
and none of them feel rewarding. Out of 10 games maybe 1 was where it felt "balanced". As you can either have really good perks, be super meta (if you have the perks and killers AND the skill, heh), or just take it as it is.
As survivor, i mainly play with one person in SWF, and it's still weird to see people just doing the weirdest sheet all the time, people want to learn flashlight saves, but the only way to really try it is either custom game or playing and getting it done, of course, it drops the MMR and then they try it while playing with you, get downed because the game doesn't REALLY explain many mechanics (slow vault, medium vault, fast vault?). And many perks are so fricking confusing if you don't learn them all. I don't need the tooltip: "Try to run away from the killer" i want to know why suddenly i got exposed, and what does that even mean? (for example, i got accused as a cheater because i had starstruck). A game needs a red line, and the learning spike of DBD is weirdly shaped, as looping is something that needs to me mastered, to explain to someone what BBQ&Chili does, or why the killer could actually see you. If i wouldn't have watched hours on hours of DBD content, i would had no clue how others can run a killer for so long while i run 2m and the killer is already behind me.
And a lot in this game shouldn't be "yeah, you will figure it out". The tutorial does a VERY basic job of that. Specially the new one. But to be able to test perks or killers against bots should be added to understand the game more. And tool-tips should explain random perks so it makes sense when something happens.
when a friend always told me "oh the killer has ____" i was like "what does that do?" and even if they explained it to me, it was still confusing.
As survivor it doesn't really matter, except getting really useful perks unlocked, which also sucks. like they are basically just re-skins anyways, it shouldn't matter, so give every survivor every perks. idc, make the same for killers. I mean it wont change the biggest problem, but people who want to play a certain style often can't, and if you look at the rooster of the basic survivors, you will realise they all have one certain play style :).
As killer it is no problem to even play without perks if your MMR is trash. Or if you are really good, but to be efficent on both sides we need an overhaul on the perk system and the unlock mechanic.

Like others say, the MMR system for survivors is not well thought through. Monkeys can honestly do that better.
