Trickster Feels Awful to Play As on Console
The recoil on his blades is too strong to make him use of his power outside of a close range. I've been trying to finish his Long Bomb Tome challenge for hours and despite doing very well in my matches with him the recoil makes it too difficult land hits at mid range. It's much more frustrating vs not being able to perform flick hits with Oni or Blight.

I don't understand why the recoil is there. I get it, he's throwing multiple projectiles at a time unlike Huntress and Deathslinger, but he's not firing a machine gun. Why can't he just look forward and not deviate, like a normal knife throwing guy would? It makes no sense gameplay-wise.

Hey logic doesn't exist in dbd you stop that right now.
Ps i play on ps5 and feel the pain

Try turning the sensitive to 50-60% it helps not super over correct. I also use thumbstick grips for accuracy that helps

If only BHVR actually cared about its console player base for stuff other than cosmetics.

I got the Tome challenge done on PS4 against an AFK survivor, thank the lord for that.
I'm dreading doing it on the Switch. That's going to really suck.

This is the one buff that I really wanted for Trickster. Recoil affects nobody but console players, PC problems can do certain movements with their mouse to make sure their aim is almost always steady. It's stupid.
Have fun doing a chase in Hawkins as console Trickster btw when you can't adjust your aim quickly enough because you're using a stick to aim instead of a mouse. You're never going to land enough knives in time because of the LOS breakers + turns AND the struggle to hit the knives quickly enough. Had this happen today and, for the first time in a long while, DC'd against a team because I was a 1v1 killer who couldn't use their power. I got frustrated in messages, and got told to "not camp as much" (bruh)... I didn't handle it well but it was one of the worst games I've had in DBD in a while.

Forcing aim down and alternating right or left is a pain in the ass on controllers.

As a Tricky main, I can admit playing on console is just literal pain but I still manage

Yeah it's a uh. Rough. Btw don't go to badham. The fps is horrendous.

I'm sure this will never happen, but this is one of those instances where I think it would be appropriate to have a platform-specific balance change and remove Trickster's spread and recoil only on console to make it more fair (since PC players seem to manage it fine). I'd prefer they just remove it entirely, but I'm sure people would complain.

Honestly the recoil isn't really the problem, its the lack of control options like acceleration, dead zone and multi zone settings most other FPS games have.
Guns have recoil in lots of popular games and people are able to manage it very precisely because they can customize the aiming to their preference.
Apex, CoD, Battlefield etc are all good examples of games with varying recoil patterns that players get used to managing with practice and comfortable control settings.

Just play on M+KBM on pc no problem :)

You wanna know how I did Trickster's challenges being console myself? Farming. I don't like farming but I'll never get my challenge done otherwise because he is awful to play on console. If he didn't have that recoil I might actually legit play him more but I can't stand to play him because of the recoil.

I completely agree with this i am no stranger to shooters but with trickster something just feels off with him

It might be crazaye, but I play him like the huntress. I throw my blades very very slowly, but fast enough to beat laceration decay. It's not fun, at all.

Trickster feels more awful to play than pre-fixed console Blight imo

It is still annoying on pc, not just console.
The reason it has recoil is because we have balance developers that don't understand how strong team wide free self healing is and made a perk for it.

Recoil isn't the issue. It's the left/right throw offset/spread that really hurts him.

Took me 2 matches to get that challenge done and I'm not bad with trickster. But console knife throwing can be rough. Ended up on a farm map and I did nothing but spam knives at any likely looking target. Two survs must have thought I was completely useless, so they started tbagging in front of me and body blocking. I wouldnt've cared except it ruins the distance for the challenge. So I hooked them, luckily at egc one of the others must've realised and they let me stand a good distance away whilst they were in gate area and I hit them until injured. Nodded thanks and they left. I may have already done enough before then but I wasn't sure so I was grateful to them for that.
