How long are we going to have to wait for Boon nerfs ?
Comments

Exactly my experience.
There were actually times where I felt that the killer was putting enough pressure on us that I had to make a choice... *Do I waste my time blessing a totem or work on a gen*.
0 -
More like nerf swf
1 -
More like give me 4 free kills because I dont want to learn how to play the game
3 -
Just
Do
Bones
1 -
More like give me a free escape because 3 other people arent enough to carry me.
1 -
I did the bones, specifically, I did one bone 14 time- uhp its up again.
1 -
More like please create a game wholly balanced on both sides rather than damning one while the other laughs their ass off at your existence
3 -
Troll posts like this should be bannable, honestly.
0 -
So some survivor wasted 336 seconds reblessing totems?
2 -
I doubt it'll get nerfed at all honestly. Only time I think it might is when Mikaela sales dwindle and they already milked that cash cow dry. Plus considering the PTB has an infinite unbreakable boon I don't think they care about boon complaints
0 -
And by the "damned" side you surely mean soloQ survivors, right?
0 -
My opinion: Buff solo q to swf level, balance there. Done. Solo fun, swf is balanced, killer can deal with both.
And yes I mean solo q because I rarely ever see occasions where swf is anything but a massive advantage. Idk what you're trying to argue there. I said RATHER THAN, as in, don't damn anyone.
1 -
That's disingenuous at best. He clearly means that right now the survivors are more likely the victors and they don't have much to be scared of if they play right. If both teams play perfect games, killer loses every time. He wants to shift that to survivors MUST play scared, spend less time taunting with half loops and bonehead lulz plays. He wants survivor to have a harder time, but not lose every game.
2 -
We'd like to have a fair shot at one or two without having to play like scumbags, thanks.
1 -
Boons are fine.
1 -
Personally I'd like to see hex perks buffed instead of boon perks nerfed. Balance by bringing powers up instead of others down.
0 -
a long dam time swfs will abuse the new boon like crazy back to basment bubba it is
0 -
Exactly, honestly i play both sides boons arent too bad i can just step on it and even if they reboon it that means they are not on gens, maybe a good nerf would be either reduce range or reduce coh speed slightly other than that i think its fine if survivors wanna keep rebooning less people on gens
0 -
Uhhhhh, no? 14 seconds to bless. So 196 for 14 totems or 210 for 15.
0 -
But even if that single lone Survivor isn't on a gen for the 14 seconds + time to find/walk back to a known Totem (assuming they don't spawn on top of a Dull Totem or the Killer's Hex), 3-4 are potentially repairing away without a care in the world while the Killer scrambles to find a Totem without any reliable methods like maps or whatnot to highlight them. The Killer wastes way more game time interacting with Boon Totems than the 4 Survivors combined do, even without knowing the game at all it's blatantly a net loss.
That's obviously an ideal scenario and even then it's still not a guaranteed loss for the Killer really, but on the Survivor's side it's a very minuscule amount of time investment with an enormous benefit (soon to be much bigger) for ALL party members when ONE Survivor spends that time. Meanwhile Killers have to make an enormous investment + trade off by forgoing map pressure nigh entirely and not getting any damage states/hooks to find a Boon Totem, as in literally the only two counters they have to the Survivors before the introduction of Boons.
I don't know what the solution is at all, but if their goal was to give Survivors another objective they failed so gloriously that it's genuinely not even funny anymore how little they seem to know about Killers. However if their goal was to promote the face camping and genuine tunneling playstyles only while restricting the Killer players to only like 1/4 of the roster, then they did a very good job at making the lower tier Killers feel much worse to play for no reason at all.
Thanks for reading. You can now ignore everything I said and call me stupid for voicing my opinion. Have a good day.

The way things are going, I honestly think they are more likely to be buffed than nerfed.
1 -
definately broken. i hope they make it like a hex. mao wide effects but as soon as its found its snuffed isntantly.

I will repeat what killer mains say every time a new killer is not fun to go against: adapt and learn to play. Circle of healing is not a big deal. I don't even notice it when it comes up in killer games. Focus on downing someone and don't ping pong around. If you get into a situation where you have only a few gens left and can't afford to chase, accept that you can't win every time. In fact, do the last part anyway and you will enjoy the game more
1 -
Yeah,
Hit&Run and 3-gen sucks against CoH, that's the issue.
Hit&Run is best way how to snowball with weaker killers, most killers can't get away with commiting on each chase.
So best way how to "adapt" is just tunnel... yay
You advice is super dumb and just doesn't work in high MMR unless you play top 3 killer.
0 -
The problem is that you assume you should be able to pull out a win regardless of circumstances. I will repeat what every killer doesn't seem to understand. You can't win the all. Sometimes you lose. Accept that it's not because of a single perk, but because of an entire game that got you into this situation. NOED gets killers undeserved kills all the time. Deal with it.

Turns out they were shadow nerfed or there is a bug as blessing a hex now takes 28 seconds instead of the 24 the wiki says
0 -
yes but 16 seconds of a single survivors time. literally survivors time is 4x less valuable than killers purely for the fact that they have numbers.
1 -
Tbh from a 1v4 game common sense would make you think that in a horror game and you're the killer imbued with power from an unknown entity so they would make you able to at least stand a chance. But nah game execution is done poorly.
0 -
Every. Single. Time. It takes barely any time to snuff out. For the most part, they aren't worth running. You waste more time trying to keep one up on a totem than you would just using self care.
2 -
Kill numbers say you're doing pretty well overall.
0 -
Sigh, like i said in another post. Stop portraying an extreme scenario and asking for nerfs to either side.
There is no way a survivor can heal up “instantly” within the cool down of a hit. Time to find a dull totem, time to boon it. Running across the map to boon to heal, are all time off objectives aka gens. Was that not what you guys wanted when you complained all survivors do is hold m1?
Just because something forces you to change your play-style or annoy you doesn’t warrant a nerf. That’s not how balance works…
2 -
That logic is flawed.
The only valuable time survivors have is on gens. Any time not on gens is the game not progressing and them not escaping.
If you chase 1 person the time of survivors is suddenly only 3 times as valluable. A survivor hooked while doing that makes the time equal equal as 1 needs to save one is chased and one is hooked
If the survivors time is ever 4 times less valluable then the killers outside of the first 10 seconds of the match the killer is doing something terribly wrong
1 -
Its still time taken off the survivor that went to boon/heal etc that you can capitalize on.
1 -
You do realize then the killer has to spend time walking to the boon and then snuffing it out right? Obviously ones in shack you can snuff mid chase. But when you add them to random tiles around the map and sometimes you aren't in the audio range to hear them so you don't know if one's near. In the ptb you used to be able to hear it from like 20 meters away as killer not its only like 8.
0 -
It’s not that hard to find them either lol. Its loud and bright. Every time i play killer and see them run back to boon it i chuckle. Free time for me to chase someone else.
2 -
Again it doesn't solve the problem of survivors completing all 5 gens in 4 minutes. Wow you gain an extra 20 seconds from the survivor walking up to a totem then walking away after blessing it... its not like gen spread costs the killer more time than survivors
0 -
and? the survivor has to spend time booning it too. Both sides took time.. Sounds fair to me.
1 -
*Breathes heavily- panting*
Sorry I’m late- “Boons are fine.”
All seriousness, they just need to make it so the same totem cant be blessed more than once by the same survivor (entity blocks it of they try to bless- a la hex plaything animation, still have option to cleanse though) NOED should overwrite the last totem if it’s a boon, & snuffing animation should be 1 second for killer (1 swift stomp).
This is just a fad. I’m already having 3/4 consecutive games without boons. Survivors love their second chance perks to be at their disposal any where on the map, so you’ll slowly see more of the community creep back to the meta. Hell, ppl are starting not to run Shadowstep any more. They’re opting for the Healing and replacing SS with one of their old meta perks. Give it time. They’ll just be in the occasional meme build.
Despite what I say, I do believe they will get nerfed in the near future though. Probably longer blessing time, or in a form of a cooldown or something. Before year end maybe.
1 -
Run undying then so you can see when they start to boon a totem.
Seriously, you guys get mad at anything that's more useful than "puts survivor right on the hook to die."
0 -
So why are you complaining if nothing changes?
0 -
The survivors time is ALWAYS 4x less valuable. Or let me put it into killer words, killers time is 4x as valuable as you dont know what the survivors doing. You spend a minute on a chase and 3 gens across the map are likely 80% ready to pop as you walk over to them.
2 -
Make snuffing out a Boon destroy that totem, limiting them to 5 uses per game. As compensation, remove the killers thundrclap notification when a totem is blesed, so you get more use out of it before the killer finds it.
By far the worst part of Boons is having to repeatedly snuff the same totem. It wastes the killer's time more than any other perk and can arguably be more effective than the perks effect itself.
When a survivor is able to repeatedly rebless a totem, it creates a survivor snowball effect. One sneaky reblesser, 3 other survivors doing gens and running the killer, you can't keep up.
For most other survivors you typically don't get a chance to rebless a totem, in which case this change would probably be more of a buff than a nerf, as your one time boon would last longer.
1 -
Cause survivors dont need anything stronger from how ridiculously busted they are. Like sure its nothing like 2017 dbd but its still insane how they can just crank out gens then have a totem that makes them harder to find.
0 -
Cause survivors time is 3 times as valluable at that time.
If you have one hooked one slugged and one in chase the chances of 3 gens popping drastically decreases
0 -
Ah yes I go to a survivor blessing a totem from across the map giving the other 3 survivors at least enough time to get 30% of a gen done just to prevent an overpower perk on an overpowered role.
1 -
Yes but how many times will you be able to have a slug and hook on survivors that constantly spread out? Almost never
0 -
and… killers got stronger since 2017??? So your issue was never because boons were actually “op”. It’s cause it annoys you that survivors which you deem OP get a perk that aids them?
That’s not how balance works.. again.
0 -
Then rely on things aside from scratch marks. The worst time I had against boons was shadow step in RCPD. The totem was apparently up top in the library and was still affecting the ground floor. Yeah, I lost a couple people for a second, but still came out with 3 kills.
We have to adapt to constantly added ranged killers that completely change how we have to play the entire game. Don't tell me you can't deal with a totem that wastes survivor time more than it helps.
1 -
Or... Ignore the perk entirely unless you come across it, and focus on downing the person you're chasing. There is no compulsion demanding you drop everything to make sure survivors can't heal in half the time. BTW, the time it took to cast the boon and to heal... Is how long it takes to self care, basically. It's really not worth running aside from the novelty of it.
0 -
I would like to rely on things other than scratch marks.... oh wait sounds barely ever work since I can follow behind a survivor for 3 seconds, they go behind a wall and I don't hear them run away. Also I really doubt that the "only" time you had trouble with boons was on rcpd. You do realize the power of an 8 second heal right? you get more than 1 heal in the boon range and its already worth the time. Not to mention the self care part about it. Not to mention the unbreakaboon coming out in a couple weeks which literally will force you to placebo yourself if you dont want to risk it when playing twins of oni.
