my god did I missed dbd without mmr, ptb is a fun experience since there's no mmr
of course I play against survivors that have less skills than I do, here and there I get better ones, but not worring about being genrushed, not caring too much if I make a mistake, no full meta squad, I enjoy this game again
I really wish mmr never been a thing, yes have some MM but not this trash we have now, I am quitting the game so badly because of mmr and I've been playing since 1.0.0, ######### mmr seriously.

Good players can still be casual players, and theyve this not that long ago, after MMR was fully implemented
They didnt say they were gonna add another mode, they just said they had plans to separate the 2 playerbases

Can't see any difference right now. Killers i performed well before the mmr i do it still and killers were most people struggle are the same.
It's really annoying if certain addons (like night shroud recovery) or perks are almost mandatory for some killers to not lose games right away. That would be less of a problem, if you just had a infinite supply of them. But nope, you have 90% of addons you never use and you are forced to play another killer to get the BP for the killer you actually want to play.
Best example is, how extremely better Pig is with amanda's letter, compared to not be able to see through walls. If you crouch behind a obstacle for an ambush attack, the smart suvivors just run away in the opposite direction, because they know you can't catch em. Without the addon, you lose time before you realize what happend, with aura reading you know.

Yes, everyone likes to win.
However, this also results in people on the other side having a miserable game.
I started during the heyday of ranks, where killers had no matchmaking protection and I got stomped into the ground game after game by insanely BM SWFs with thousands of hours more experience than me. I couldn't even really learn the basics.

I thought I would have better games with mmr but I lost so much that now I'm at low mmr dying more over and over again.
At the old ranks I struggled to maintain my rank 4 but at least I felt like my teammates were trying, and killers didn't Camp/tunneled cause they knew they need to Patrol the map instead of being in one point.
Now I'm being tunneled 3 times in a row and camped with 5 gens left.
I might sound dramatic but I swear this happens every day to me and It just not fun anymore yet I still try to play and get better.

You seem to say this in every thread I see you in.
I'll say what I did last time.
- There is no MMR hell.
- As your MMR falls, you'll either get better teammates or worse killers until it stabilizes.
- Sometimes BHVR fiddle with matchmaking for an evening or two and you get bonkers matchups. If you are suddenly getting much faster matchmaking than usual, it's usually a sign to take the night off.

^ then feel free to block me. It's my pov and nothing you'll say will make me change my mind. If I'm telling you all my games are being a mess, you just accept and that's it.
If you are having 50/50's like everyone seems to claim, good for you.
But from my experience it's Just people giving up on First hooks, everyone being slugged with 5 gens left, people urban evading everywhere and selfcaring in corners. And the iceing on the cake: scared to save me with my kindred on.
Back then I barely escaped 5/10 of my matches. Now it's barely 2/10. And that's because I really died so much that the game might have put me at the lowest mmr possible. And If you say that then the game puts a baby killer to give me a free win, that barely happens.
And from my perspective low mmr might have the worst of both worlds, inexperient killers here and there and killers that already are good but lost to some SWF's and then the game decides to put'em against me and the other ramdons.

Mmr is kill or escape. So camp and tunnel is a win. Creep around and wait for everyone else to do the work and escape is a win and your mmr increases.The old emblem system was wayyy better.

Sadly I think the devs will overlook player mmr when reviewing ptb data.
"Hmmmm.. mostly 4ks" disregarding vast mmr difference, players wanting to die by mori, and pathetic dcs cause someone can't handle a loss during a test run all corrupting the stats.

I also think SWFs should get their own game mode or have killers opt out of facing swfs I'll wait for longer matches I'd it means I dont have to deal with a other toxic SWF team

Nah, you need survivors to literally work with you to get emblems. Under this system, all you need to do is kill them.

Ranking system were better and they should stop trying to put MMR BS on this game. There's just a lot of variables making it harder to determine if someone is good or not. Ranking was good since its straight to the point. You get matched against people on your current rank it was that simple and less people using matchmaking as an excuse when they're awful at the game. The only thing flawed about this system is that you're getting rainbow colored ranks which shouldn't happen and smurfs but every game has that and I don't think any game had a fix for it.

It doesn't solve the problem. We all want a ranked skill-based matchmaking, it's just what they have now is bullcrap. We don't need a "casual mode", we need a proper SBMM that actually estimates skill, and not just escapes, or at least the emblem matchmaking restored, since it was much better. Devs are just using this false dichotomy to cover up their screw up: "either you swallow this ridiculous escape-based matchmaking that is even worse than emblems, or no matchmaking at all for you, you choose".

They've said a lot of things.
Splitting modes will change the game for everyone due to queue times.
The reason we don't get new modes is because it would create a split in active players between modes.
Keep on dreaming; like cross progression it'll never come.

So untrue. I was stuck in MMR hell for weeks. The hell part of it is you have low tier killers who only know how to camp and chase one person down. They always run NOED, and have absolute tunnel vision. Your teammates are scared to do anything. I ran a killer for over 4 minutes with zero gens done. He hardcore camps and 2 survivors are crouch in corners, the other one comes running in and gets downed without getting me off the hook. 4k match.
Another typical match is me avoiding killer, doing 3-4 gens, 3 totems, 4 or more rescues with BT and finding myself alone and at the mercy of EGC with doors next to each other and live NOED.
There is MMR hell and the only way out is to SWF, which is what I had to do to get competent teammates.
MMR is only pushing people to SWF more. Stupid system.

Both Killer and Survivor ARE BORING to play. I think this game NEEDS a NEW ENGINE graphically and spooky lighting and stripped to more basics HALF or more of the PERKS are obsolete. Re-adjust to two PERKS a SURVIVOR and strip out the useless ones. Then BALANCE these MAPS because they are all TRASH now. I don't see how people keep playing because there's no fun in it I see. It's like playing tag with strangers and there are glitches and bugs everywhere with PS2 graphics.

FYI that time stamp the dev says they are “looking for ways to cater to competitive players who want to sse their hidden MMR and players who want the numbers hidden”. He didn’t say anything there about making a competitive mode and casual mode.

He was talking about "catering to people who want the MMR hidden versus being visible". So it could be that maybe they'll show an MMR bracket, for instance, but you can opt to make that information hidden from other players.

In that particular clip he was specifically talking about whether or not the MMR should be hidden or visible. He only said "competitive versus casual" in reference to his assumption that competitive people want to be able to see their rating and casual players don't care or would prefer to have it hidden to avoid being made fun of by higher rated players.
By the way, I'm not commenting one way or another on whether or not they'll try and add another game mode, etc. I don't remember seeing anything about them doing it but it's certainly possible I'm just not aware of it. This specific Youtube clip, though, isn't talking about that.
